I bought Wylde Flowers because of your rec a few months ago, and it's now what I measure all other farming sims by. I was so impressed by the writing, the characters, and the recipes. It really elevated the bar for me about what a game like that should be.

The characters are quite well written and its nice that there's voice acting, but that's kind of it? It felt like a pretty thin game farming-sim wise.

21:03 Correction: The actual limit is *45* dinosaurs, and without quests, it’s *36* . There are 38 species in the game, so once you get deep into it, there’s enough room for at least 1 of every species. Of course that kinda conflicts with the rare color collecting since you might find one of a dinosaur you already own but you have no space so you gotta choose between them, but the limit is definitely much more generous than most think (idk where the number 24 came from)
This is good to know. Once I get the game, I will only look for rare breeds then.
Oh god I could never play fall of porcupine. I worked at a retirement home and you said “saying good bye and going about your day” that hit. 😢 I got out of healthcare because my heart couldn’t take it anymore.
Sea of Stars is most definitely on my wish list. I wish more developers would make their games accessible to more players by adding customizable difficulty. Case in point, Lies of P and Elden Ring. I want to play both of those so much as they look like incredible games but I dont do well with anything Souls-Like.
Yeah it’s wild as adding in an easy difficulty takes nothing away from the experience of those who chose not to use it
Sea of Stars should be the standard on customization of difficulty. I played in the easy mode and it did not take away anything from the game. It just gave you a major buff on HP and a few other perks. It sucks that other game developers don't seem to consider players that want less of a challenge. Hence why I stayed away from games like Elden Ring.
They did a fantastic job on the game and it's my co-GOTY, along with TOTK. Highly, HIGHLY recommend.
The Souls series has very maticulatly created experiences that don't scale that well. They want you to use all the systems that are created to buff and debuff as well as give every person the same experience accordingly. Scalable difficulty takes away a bit point of the game, otherwise you are meandering in a bland, storyless world. Zelda titles work the same way. Story based games that soly rely on damage output vs damage given like Assassins Creed or Last of Us benefit from difficulty scaling since combat isn't the focus there
@@Eeowna I remember when the added a "Non-Perma death" option in Fire Emblem Awakening. The fandom had a FIT. Despite the fact the normal permadeath mode was still there and it wasn't effected by the other mode in any way (and lets be honest, most of us just reset our game to redo the level anyway). I feel like that's why they would never add an easy mode to certain games. Fans of that game would flip their lids for legitimately no reason.
Sea of Stars is a game I cannot recommend any more highly. I do like cozy games but find a lot of just farming/life sims to be boring. Jrpgs and RPGs that have a calm game play loop is much more my style. I loved Octopath Traveler 2 so much that I found myself depressed when I had finished it and Sea of Stars really filled that void I felt. I hope you love it. It’s incredible and a total labor of love.
The cutscenes from Dave the Diver are SOOOO funny! Especially the weapons upgrade guy and the chef and food critics lmao
I felt the same exact way about TOTK--When I was on Sky Island, I thought it wouldn't be for me. But as soon as I got to Hyrule, I really enjoyed it. Also when I decided to not worry so much about building stuff and just focus on what I already loved about Zelda games, I had a great time.
It's always easy to tell who got into Fire Emblem through Three Houses because opinions about Engage tend to swing wildly between older fans and 3H-babies (as we're known by the fanbase). You have those like yourself who think Engage is lacking what made 3H so special, and then there's the OG fans who see Engage as far and away the better title *because* it focused far more on the battles, had a largely skippable hub area, and dialed down the inter-character relationships. I love them both and it's hard to say one is better than the other because they definitely have their own strengths. Older fans of FE generally feel Engage is the superior title because of the less-talk-more-action feel, but the opinions of 3H-favourers are that Engage is a step away from what they love when it was in fact 3H that was the step away from what OG fans love.
Nobody is wrong here, they are right for different reasons. But I think it's hard to argue that 3H has better gameplay; likewise it's laughable to say Engage does characters and story better. Engage puts more FE in the FE part of its game, 3H is more for enjoyers of games like the Persona series or Final Fantasy.
That's just my opinion though. Personally I love both to bits.

Mineko’s Night Market broke my heart. I was seriously getting into that game and planning to make it my video for this month. Then I encountered two game-breaking bugs and just couldn’t bring myself to keep trying. I really hope they fix it in the future.

Detective Pikachu returns seems like they wanted to do a sequel to the original 3DS game very badly but missed their deadline so they put it on the switch.
I say this because if they graphics were lower like this on a proper handheld it wouldn't be as much of an issue
Another great ranking list from you! I agree with you on most of these and some I probably would have ranked differently, but I love that we can all have our opinions! You have definitely helped me wait for sales on a few of these titles I don't own yet, but want to play. I myself am still on the fence about buying Dave the Diver. The demo was fun, but the roguelike and the time management is kind of hard for me. Thanks as always for being honest about all the issues and bugs!
Honestly all the cozy games that you recommend are pretty much on my wishlist, you sell them so well. Even games I wouldn't normally enjoy I learned more about it and now want it haha

I played It’s A Wonderful Life back when it was a Harvest Moon new release. Your second feelings about the game were very close to how I felt on its first release.
For Silent Hope, I agree about the princess’s constant chatter. But you can turn it off in the settings menu.
That was the only downside for me. I did want to hear some of it, it helped make the story immersive but it was just a little much.
What are your thoughts on Rune Factory?!
Once you get a little bit farther in the story in harvest moon you unlock waypoints that allow for fast travel all over the map once you activate them and as each one is lit up, that part of the map colors in and you can see all of the details
I love underwater games and dave the diver was THE perfect underwater games i haved searched. It has so much to do i was not bored at all, fishing is a little bit hard but satisfying. The story is funny and mystery. I can recommended it to everyone

Please do a ranking based on the feature of character depth. I love Story of Seasons and think they're pretty good but I wish we got to know them better with more dialog. Since you commented that you thought that could be better, I'm curious to know what game is better at that because that's my favorite aspect along with the cuteness of the animals and the concept of building a well run farm. i’m so glad i gave sea of stars a chance all because of you! i saw it to be released on gamepass a month or so ago & i wasn’t too stoked on it, i’m not a huge fan of turn based combat but like i said i’m soooo glad i gave it a chance tonight. the turn based combat in this game is unlike any i’ve played before! lots of fresh & engaging elements that actually make it enjoyable & not boring for me like it typically is. that aside, the art style is amazing, the themes are so aesthetic, they explain things well in the game so it’s not overwhelming, i’m only 2 hours in but i see 100% why you put it in s tier.
I'd love to see your all time games with full voice acting! I'm always looking for those
I really feel like since story of seasons a wonderful life was such a relationship focused game you would think they would put more effort into the dialog of each character. I also feel like they could off made more friendship questing other what you get off the buliton board. I also felt that after I fed and took care of the animals, watered my crops, talk to all the villagers and my spouse n child there was nothing else to do so I would go to bed at 5 pm in game just to get to next day and do it all over again.
Comfy games aside, I just want to express how much I love your eye makeup in all of your videos 😊!

The princess game looks like a "so bad it's good" kind of game which is why I kinda want it 😂
I also agree with how faefarm has affected how I view other farming sims but it is a bit lacking in some aspects, which is disappointing but I really enjoyed the game while I played (still do on a new save but original save is still there)

hi Eeowna first time commenting on you videos i have seen a few and i love them. I've been meaning to ask this for a while but speaking of cozy games i was wondering if you have seen or heard of the game little dragons cafe it a cute cozy game where you play as a set of twins if you chose the girl the boy will be your helper. If you chose the boy the girl will be your helper. you have to run your mothers cafe after she falls ill and you are also given a dragon egg to raise. The cool thing about the dragon is you can change its colour by giving it diffrent foods. a good tip if you decide to play, is at the start you are given 3 choices of food veggies meat and fish ( if you choose veggies your dragon will be green meet is red dragon and fish is blue dragon) and you can name your dragon you also have to help people who come into the cafe at times. the downside is the only way to save is to sleep. also when you are outside exploring and you want/ need to get back to the cafe press the minus button it will have a pop up that says return to cafe. There are plenty of youtube video of the game if you wish to look it up however not to sure if its digital as i bought mine as a Physical Copy p.s Sorry if i spelled you name wrong and for any spelling and or grammar mistakes i also would love to get cosmic wheel of sisterhood im new to digital buying of switch games i tend to stick with Physical Copy. but i'll look more into it, as the game looks to be my type of game dark revange witchy and demon like beings . take care and i look forward to seeing more from you
Giving SOS: a wonderful life B tier is definitely reasonable! since it is a complete remake from the Harvest Moon: a wonderful life for the ps2. I believe they remade it as a nostalgia factor for old players of the original. If you've never played the original it would 100% be a game that can be expanded on for sure! it's basically almost a 1-1 remake of the original with some minor changes. i agree with you though, they can definitely expand more on it in the future.

Great video, as always ❤! I agree about TOTK, I think I prefer BOTW over it, but it's still a stunning game. BOTW just broke all the molds, that's difficult to top in such a short amount of time!
Once you play more in Paleo Pines the smaller dinos can do the farming which makes it much easier, theres also a lot of story line that i think you would appreciate if you havent got there yet, but im not sure how its unlocked maybe time played or something similar, ive played many hours and still unlocking personal stories of the npcs 😊

Agreed with everything you said about TotK - it didnt feel as magical to me either!! I'd be really curious to know your take on the ending - I haven't heard a lot of reviews that talk about the plot really and while I think TotK has much better gameplay I think the plot isn't nearly as good at BotW.

Cupid Bistro 2 is a game I played on PC when I was a kid. The language spoken was Japanese and the text was in Chinese so I don't know how I got so far. Suffice to say I was not able to date anyone or get beyond a bad ending. But it was really cool managing a building that has a different restaurant on each floor. Each floor representing the restaurant of the bachelorette. It was cool seeing the dishes too, especially the magic/witch one as her dishes had magical elements to it. I wish after so many years there would be a translation, but it doesn't. At least it is on steam though.
Very interesting i had planned on getting a couple of these games but will now hold off till they are on sale. I am currently playing Big Farm Story and have to say i am enjoying it a lot more than i thought i would my only issue is the load screens every time you leave an area.

I am with you with TotK, I am 170 hours in and its got none of the magic of BotW for me.
I'm actually a little frustrated that they're making me rediscover all of Hyrule, get all my armor and upgrade it all, and basically have to redo almost everything I did in BotW. If there were more new villages that had popped up, an explination for why the old shrines and old towers suddenly vanished and we have these new ones, and maybe have had the rito, gorons and zora explore and building in other areas of the maps it wouldnt have felt as tedious to rediscover. But nope. Even the stables havent changed.
Every temple followed the exact same formula, and the new sections (the depths in particular) is copied and pasted and have no variety in terms of asetitic. Overall, I'm really disappointed, BotW for me was a solid 10/10, but TotK is about a 6/10

Cracking game! I sunk SO many hours into it on Xbox, when I got a switch I got it but just couldn’t find the heart with any new farms I started. It would be fantastic if Farm Together 2 has cloud save / cross platform
Of all the Switch games to come out this year, TOTK, Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and Metroid Prime Remastered are by far the best and it's not even close.

Wylde Flowers is S tier for me (easily one of the best games I've ever played, I just wish it was even longer) whereas A Wonderful Life is down the bottom - I got so bored I couldn't get past Winter of year 1 (no nostalgia for me either). Totally agree with Fae Farm at A tier 🎉
For Paleo Pines you can actually have 45 dinos on your farm which I believe is enough to have one of each type plus a few extra so you can have one of each!

You missed Stray Gods! So curious to your opinion about that. Personally, I loved it. Except.... the volume was off so many times and worse and worse the further you got.. (one voice super loud, the other super soft, some times not so soft that putting the volume up didn't matter because of the BGM).. as well as the blurry visuals from time to time. Especially the volume took away from the experience to an otherwise A tier (because of the price for the amount of hours, otherwise S tier) game. What did you think?
I’ve put Fae Farm down due to the combat mechanics (on the Switch). Constantly when in combat, your staff will disappear because you’re next to something to mine like rocks. This leaves you open to attack until you realise the staff has gone. Then you get stuck in damage animations and that combo hit you do leaves you open to projectiles or the stomp attack of enemies. If you’re stuck in that last animation, you can’t get out of the way in time. I’ve started playing a different game until they fix it (if they fix it). I shouldn’t be getting frustrated at a game like this.
Invisibility potion stops this! You don’t get attacked at all

i was over the moon about fae farm but when i got to a part in the story i could no longer continue any missions. like i got a message in the mail to start a mission but it never actually showed up in my mission tab. i can no longer go forward :(

I loved wylde flowers. I had a free trial for Apple Arcade and was surfing through the games and found it. I saw it on steam before but bc of the amount of farming games I wasn’t really looking at them. But when I started playing this game…it is so much fun! I was basically binge playing it through like one almost two weeks? And I personally love the story side of things more in these things than the gaming. So whilst I love stardew valley for example and the some of the characters as well, its characters and the story really were lacking imo. I’m saying that bc a lot of ppl tend to compare every farming game with stardew valley which i on one side understand but at the same time don’t really think it’s necessary or really valid.
But here you actually have a solid story and lore, you have characters that feel alive bc they have actual personalities, dynamics, relationships.
They each have such good voice acting, every character has their own unique antics, even their walking style is personalized. They feel like humans from the way they look, they walk, they sound and what they speak.
And I grew close with all those characters so much. Made friends with basically everyone, had my boo Wes ❤️, and in comparison in stardew valley I at times didn’t even like the love interest I made. The relationships weren’t really explored how they could have been.
Like with Sebastian and his family for example. The only character that really has my heart is Leo. I do love a lot of characters though! But here I feel more connected with even more characters as well.
If you want a good farming game with a solid story and good characters! This is a must game!

Dave the Diver and Sea of Stars! I am so hype that Dave is coming out so soon on Switch! I played on PC but I find myself struggling to be comfortable in my PC chair after work all day. I only ever want to play in bed, and I could only WISH for a steam deck at this point. I’m glad that Dave the Diver did so well and is coming to Switch. It’s so much fun. Sea of stars is one of my all time favorite games.
I know Fae Farm has been buggy for so many, but I've been lucky and for me it's an A++ almost S tier.
The worries you have about Palia update on the Switch is warranted. No Man's Sky on the Switch is always behind during expedition runs because of how Nintendo does things. I've seen expedition come out on all other platforms and here Switch players waiting 1 week to sometimes 2 weeks before we're able to start new expedition. It takes awhile before Switch is all caught up. Hello Games is really nice. I've seen them few times give an extra week because Switch owners has to wait TOO long because, you know Nintendo.

Pikmin 4 was soooooooooooooo amazing, I liked Pikmin 3 but Pikmin 4 blew me away
I have to admit, the first game I played on the Switch was Zelda BOTW and it shouldn't have been. Unfortunately the bar got set so high, any other games I tried afterwards I couldn't play them for long because they couldn't even compare. Why trying to force myself to play a lesser game when I could put back the best game.

Story of seasons DOES have warping. You just have to unlock it. It’s SO much better now that you can warp!

I was originally looking forward to Pretty Princess but oh my lol I'm so happy the price tag is so ridiculously high so I could watch more on it and just oof LOL I played the Chill Town and A New Leaf demos, and the ACNH "vibes is sooo obvious - especially Chill Town heh - but they're a bit fun just need a TON of work still in different aspects yet.
Hopefully Meneko's Night Market gets a big patch soon, it looked really cute and fun overall.
I still haven't played A Wonderful Life but, I played the original and loved it so have kinda been waiting since I know you really need to focus in that first year so I don't want to get distracted lol
Fae Farm has definitely ruined other farming games lol I love it so much still.
I want to love Fall of Porcupine so much but I cannot do those minigames!! I had to quit the demo early because my hands and wrists were hurting. Yes, I was playing on Deck but, several would have been just as frustrating on Switch with the button combinations they have. Made me really sad.
Good Pizza, Great Pizza also doesn't have several chapters or any of the "quests" that the mobile versions do sadly, and might never as the devs apparently said they're too busy with the mobile version to spend time updating the Switch version.
I've seen a few games be able to drop updates on all platforms at the same time but, I'm guessing that takes a lot of planning and work, and probably money so we shall see how Palia handles it. I'm pretty much done playing on Deck I think, though, as every update seems to make it unplayable all over again and I don't have the spoons to be tweaking everything in a game so often, and so many times. I really don't understand why they didn't run it through Steam. I'm going to probably switch to playing on Switch once it's on there anyhow but, we'll see.

I’m desperate for a game that has pretty graphics (I can’t get into pixelated games… that’s all we had growing up) that has a little bit of everything… I like when RPG meets cozy gaming/farm sim… and all I’ve ever wanted is a magical mushroom sparkling world that I thought Fae Farm would provide but it’s soo lacking in every way (aside from the beautiful magical world it takes place in) I’m really hoping Palia ends up being what I’m hoping for but I’m desperate for some recommendations if anyone has any for me?
