I feel like the devs dared themselves to create as close to an ACNH clone as they could without getting sued and then publish it exclusively on the Nintendo system… and I’d say they succeeded! 💀

Thanks for taking one for the team and for the laugh. I had so much morbid curiosity about this one that I almost bought it because I love princesses and I love Animal Crossing. After seeing this, I'm glad the price was so steep that it deterred me because after this video I have absolutely had enough of this 😂
This is a follow-up to their previous game, that actually had a bit more depth. I bought this game, launch date because I liked the first game. The main issue seems that it has no replay-ability whatsoever and the “quests” end at a pretty abrupt point and then your only goal is to obtain all the items and clothing (there are trouser outfits btw…lol). It gives you the whole island to decorate but it doesn’t offer much decorative items, just random stuff. All the housing items were just brought over from the last game but serve no purpose because you don’t have a house or villagers to decorate their houses! They pretty much wanted to throw a lazy game together that tried to embody the look of AC with strong mobile game elements (menus only coming up when you interact with buildings, animal enclosures with the assembly line mechanic, same character modeling for animals…etc.), with some elements of their previous game. It maybe okay for younger players to get their “princess” fix (where’s the castle? And the room I had IN the castle?) but for older players that need more depth and polish, I’d say skip this one as well.
So the first game is enjoyable and playable?
Honestly found it way easier and more fun to decorate in this game than in animal crossing. I could actually decorate here, while in animal crossing things take 3 times longer, and I loose my patience before I ever manage to make anything look good. Im actually happy with how my princess decorating ended up, although its a short game. I had a lot of fun with it the hours I played it and couldnt put it down.
However, theres a lot of flaws, but i did not expect a lot from this game, and I was suprised with how much I enjoyed it. The way you unlock clothes, hairstyles and furnitures was very addicting, and rewarding!
If they had kept it up with more rewards and content for more playing hours, I would have played it for longer for sure. And im very picky with my games as well lol.. with my adhd brain, there are few things that makes me not bored.
Also, the point where you cant wear pants nor being a boy as something bad is a bit unfair. There are a variety of games that are made for boys, where u can only play as a male and as for the clothes.. I mean this was meant to be a stereotypical princess themed vibe. It makes sense, u cant wear pants. I mean its literally what you expect when buying the game. Its supposed to be as stereotypicaly princessy as it can get, no exception. Which I honestly found cute/funny. Even thou im not the grily girl myself, I loved princesses when I was a kid. I guess it brought some nostalgia, hehe :D
But, it is a shamelesss copy of animal crossing on many levels and overpriced on top of that. Its not perfect. But if ur looking for a dopamin game and like princess vibes, this is it for sure.
Thank you for this, I wanted to buy it because it looked pretty, and honestly I don't like games that take forever to complete, there's so many games to play and not enough time!
I love this game honestly, and found some of her critiques to be overly dramatic, including criticism about one of the fonts on the home screen and the shininess of the hair and being told "salutations" and .....not being able to wear pants? ( even though you know going in that it's a PRINCESS game...and you DO have some options that have trouser-like bottoms, including one that is even seen in this video lol) and the fact that you have amnesia but no one rushes you to the hospital?...she seemed overly annoyed on it having animal crossing -like design which is not necessarily a bad thing lol... It just seemed like she went into it already skeptical and then started nitpicking everything she could think of.
Are we not gonna acknowledge the absolute slayage that is the eyeshadow look?
It’s honestly so perfect it looks fake (in a good way!) Reminds me of third party eyeshadow packs I’d download for The Sims.

I felt the same way.
The beginning of the game referenced the prequel, pretty princess magical party. It was actually a cute kid's game. This one was alright, it just didn't have much going on. And I hate the timer thing because it's like a mobile game.
yeah it felt like an odd choice to then have your character forget it all? And then just go eat cake LMAOO

I actually liked this game. If they change a few things like allowing furniture to be interacted with I think it would be worth the price. Maybe even add more life to the island and it would be worth the price.
I actually really like this game, but to each their own! The first game in the series was cute too. That one had focussed on interior decorating and it was the game that actually led me to try animal crossing out (decorating aspect). So in this second game I'd say that the similarities to animal crossing were a plus to me as I prefer this art style over animal crossing anyway. I like the farming and crafting elements in this, costume collection, etc. It is good for what I wanted it to be, simple but a hodgepodge of things I already liked. Cheers!

Nawww I think it’s a great game for kids!! If we’re not the target audience then we can’t complain if we don’t like it. I have a couple of nieces who love the game so much.
Oh 100% but like I say at the end maybe not for £30, and it could of done with a tad more originality than straight up copying acnh haha
@@Eeownaoh no! They haven’t seen ACNH so if they do, now they’re going to think that ACNH copied pretty princess!! I guess I should dust off my ACNH but I can’t face the guilt of abandoning my little friends for the last two years!
Lol I had a conversation with my 14 year old daughter about the color buff last week, back and forth on if it was a real color after she pointed something out and said it was tan and I started naming off other colors it could be said to be. Told her that the chickens my mum has are buff chickens for their color.
I bought this game a month ago because initially people were saying it was fun and I think it was 10% off so I thought why not.
Honestly, the grind was fun because everything was built immediatly and getting money in the game was super easy. After completing the story (making the cake) which is about 10 hours of gameplay, there is nothing left to do. It was 50$ canadian for clunky mechanics, weird character customization, underwhelming villagers and storyline ane 10 hours of play.
But the grind was fun.
Yeah I liked the loop! It gave me direction just not enough for the price haha
The price for this is so ridiculous😂 I wonder if the developers ever plan to update it?
im not even sure if the other games in the princess series ever got an update

I talked to my bf about the fact that it wasn't possible to play with a controller on this game and he explained to me that it has something to do with coding. Switch joy-con doesn't have the same code as a/others controllers. Was a fun video to watch 😂Damit being a princess and wearing cute dresses / clothes sounded kawaii too me. xD 🌹
I mean there's so many games that cost a fraction of the price, all of which work with a pro controller! I've played a lot of indies and this is the first one that doesn't use IR/ motion controller to ever say it's not pro controller compatible

I played a game recently at EGX (UK gaming con) that I’d love your opinion on if possible before I get too invested! It is Little Goody Two Shoes. It has a demo on Steam but is coming to other consoles, including Switch, too. It is hand drawn and I just have fallen in love with the art style and old-school vibes - it even asks you if you want to use ‘classic controls’ 😂 it is an indie that I think is being published by Square Enix and looks like the kind of game you may be interested in - a sort of cosy but horror ish game, day and night cycle. Never heard of it until I stumbled across their booth!
I am spending the weekend at EGX (as I live near London) so will hopefully get to play it when I'm there :D
@@Eeownaahh have fun! I wish I had booked a day where I could have met you, I was there yesterday! It is amazing and I loved what I saw of the con, couldn’t see too much as still was several train journeys away, but well worth it 😊 it is by the indies, if you are interested! Just stood out to me as one you may enjoy, but again I only played a bit, as it still was only a demo. Plus they gave out these absolutely adorable stickers! ❤

I came to this video from your tier rankings of the farming sims you’ve played this year, and WOW. I cannot believe this is considered legally distinct from ACNH! It looks SO similar, like, beyond just similar mechanics or vibes. This video was very fun to watch 😊

Good thing I didn’t plan or got the game. It was on my list, till you kindly mentioned the break down for it. So, thank you for breaking it down. This might be ok for kids, depending, of course. But for most of us that are adults, we probably trade it in within few days.

I think the main problem I'm having with this game is that from the box art and the intro and so on it looks like it's a princess game, but then the actual gameplay has no princessy elements! It's just a basic island! The game would feel so much more full of life if let's say, protagonist princess had just gotten like a new Kingdom or something, but they still hadn't built the kingdom itself. So the gameplay would be you building the kingdom, adding different facilities and buildings so that people want to move into your Kingdom and then making it look pretty and princessy. And during the game you get to upgrade the castle too so like at the beginning it's just like a slightly fancier shack but then by the end you build it to be a grand castle in the center of the Kingdom and all of your princess friends from the neighbouring kingdoms hang out with you in the castle and help you out and maybe you'll get knights and maids and gardeners and so on to move in to the castle with you too.
The idea just has so much potential, it's such a shame the devs just did not care.
Pretty Princess Party was really, really fun, so I was looking into this one...

i dont hate this game, the controls are definitely a little clunky, but i find it to be a pretty great time waster and i love collecting the outfits. its cute enough but yes, the price is outrageous for a glorified mobile game, in fact i think i would have preferred it to just be a mobile game

I liked the game I had so much fun playing it lots of cute things to dress up in and it had nice and simple gameplay I like the idea of just being a princess, might not be everyone's cup of tea but I don't think its the worst game ever. sure it's glitchy but overall cute chill experience.

One of the worst games I had the displeasure of attempting to play was Hello Neighbor. To be fair, while it is on Switch, I actually played it on Xbox--and better yet, it was part of Game Pass so it's not like I wasted anything other than my time on that monstrosity.
Also, Balan Wonderworld--also multiplatform--is known for being so bad, it was released with a bug that could set off seizures at one point in the game for some people. I have played it, and it unfortunately does deserve all the ridicule people have thrown at it since it was released. The Switch version, as is unfortunately far too often the case, is known for being even buggier than other platform releases.

The assets do seem here similar to new horizons. But if they really ripped off the assets of AC:NH AND made this a switch exclusive, it was really bold of them.

Yo, the first one is better. Pretty Princess Party has more of a focus on decorating interiors and also has cute mini games and whatnot. I liked it way more than this sequel.

The Roast of Pretty Princess. 😂 I played Pretty Princess Party, because I wanted a decorating game. It’s not much better, they did get the pretty part right for some designs.
This is bad but it's not the worst Nintendo shop buy. Nintendo Europe has a policy of allowing everything to not be biased and there is an enormous amount of utter garbage, a lot of it clear rip offs of other games.
Oh I have a bad game for you to try. BUNNY PARK! It's basically unplayable with the terrible mechanics. You should make terrible games a new channel series.

It's not the worst game it can be fun at times, but it's definitely not the best. The thing I dislike about this game is how repetitive and tedious it can get to get items. But all in all the decorating aspect is still fun. It's a decent game to wind down to but the time mechanics I do annoy me.
It's very love hate in my opinion
