@digiscream I had similar thoughts. Sable wasn't terrible, but if this is her "good," I don't want to know what her "bad" is.

"Used to grooming" means "Will not threaten to die, or threaten to kill the groomer." She did very well overall. 😊

I got to work on a Samoyed once. Gorgeous boy. I would not have shaved him even if owners asked. I just did a "clean up". I kept picture. I LOVE this channel. I was a Veterinary Technician for 30 years, hurt my neck and shoulder. Got a job at a pet store and they needed to start the grooming. Offered to pay for my training. I honestly didn't think I would like it, but I LOVE it. Yes it's hard. You have the same animal to work with for @2hrs. You have to get them to let you do things they don't like. FEET are always a thing. So...my approach to working with the dogs had to become different. And it's always learning. I love a challenge. I could be on disability tbh, but I can't sit around. I love animals and am going to work with them as long as I can. My kid got accepted to Veterinary School in fall. I'm away from corporate stores now. At a Veterinary Clinic. I actually had a client call. And you think "oh no. What did I do wrong?" She just wanted to tell me how happy she is with her dog. His cut,paws, smell, and not enough people tell others when they've done a great job. Made me cry. And asked me to please not leave!! This place hadn't had a groomer since covid. @@bethk980 I'm a little bit outside of Birmingham. Nice to meet ya😁 have lived here all my life. Been awhile since I've visited Huntsville. Chaperone for the Space Museum. Gee. That's been....like 10 years ago. I am coming to see Kings of Leon in September. At the amphitheatre. Do you have your own business? I wanted to do that. In between store jobs, I had a handful of clients and would go to their house. I don't have a tub. But we worked it out. I don't have to clock in or out now. I am considered an employee of Vet Clinic because being an independent contractor was too much. I have so much more freedom. I'm not at q "beauty salon" where I have to turn dogs away. Everything was a liability. Can't let people hear a dog scream to do nails or let customers see you use a muzzle. All kinds of stuff. I have my own room I can decorate as I please. I did have to get a better table. A groomer friend only charged me $200 for one. The cord to pedals had been chewed by a dog. My husband fixed it. I need a ramp to the tub. Until recently, it's mostly been small dogs. I started at the end of January. A lady I met at PetSmart told me he needed a groomer and with her vouching for me, I got it🙏. And I'm very very happy there. Get to do little tech stuff too. Give shots, sedate, etc🥰✌🏻
Finding a rewarding profession is everything. Sounds like you were meant to be a groomer!

My canine soul-mate is a male Samoyed we named "Sambooka" 43 years ago. He had Grade 4 hip displasia, and we never told him that. He managed to eat pizza and beer off the kitchen counter when we left him alone for 20 minutes when he was about 3 years old. He "toilet papered" our downstairs when we were at work one day. He defended our yard from snakes, seeking them out and grabbing them to shake them violently until we had snake guts on our clothing. "Booka" had his own kiddie wading pool each summer and he loved to submerge himself in that 6" of water every single day in the summer. I still think of him nearly every day. I thank the Great Creator for sending this furry angel into my life. I am eager to see him again at The Rainbow Bridge.
I have the feeling your good boy sits at the other end of the rainbow bridge, ready to welcome you with all the love he has been saving up for you.

A neighbour of mine had a gorgeous Samoyed who was an absolute darling . During his shedding times, John ( the owner) used to carry a lint roller with him on the walks as that walking cloud had a tendency to lean on his human friends and was somehow most affectionate when one was wearing dark colours 😂. John was a conscientious owner and neighbour 😂

In my opinion the Samoyed is one of the most loving breeds out there, and a joy to snuggle with in cold weather - a four-legged fuzzy comforter.

I've had several dogs that LOVE to stand on our side porch and face the wind as it blows through. I'm sure they would have done that with the blow dryer also.
She's about the size of the male American Eskimo dog we had. He was big for that branch of the spitz family. Such a cheerful lunatic but also such a loving boy.
I work in an office with one. She is a riot, super friendly but also a sneaky little lady. She’s a kleptomaniac 😂 And she also hates when people leave or stop petting her.
That would make me look forward to going to work every single day!!!

I had a neighboor with a samoyed and this was how I felt in love with this beautiful creature. The dog was aways so gentle, so calm, with a good coconut scent... and he was SOOOO FLUFFY! Everytime I met him in the elevator, I used to sit down on the floor and hug him. It was like hold a giant cotton candy. 😊 Unfortunately, after that pandemic times, my neighboor moved to a bigger house, so, now I dream with a samoyed, but I cant to have one cause I know they are very expensive and with high maintenance.... 😢
It's truly fascinating and wonderful how Vanessa adjusts as she goes with every groom, and never goes "oh but we have to do the nails before we shave the paws" or anything like that. The grooming gets done and done well, the sequence doesn't matter quite so much! And I have so much love and respect for her and the way she takes each client on their own terms - dog or cat, puppy or 15 year old senior dog, health problems or crazy spicy behaviors, EVERY ANIMAL gets the same patience and loving care. That is a damn high standard to stick to, and I know I couldn't do it even with my own pets, I'd get frustrated and give up after half the shenanigans she so often sees!
I always call Samoyeds clouds with legs. I adore them.

Some of those clouds don’t like to be cuddled. My sisters Samoyed named Kai doesn’t like to cuddle. And it’s hard bc he is sooooo floofyyyyyyy.
One day I was having a shit day and a dude with a Samoyed was in the street. I looked at him and smiled, because he was so cute. Just like he knew I needed to be cheered up, he put his paws on my torso and smiled at me too. We hugged for a few seconds and I thanked him and his pawpa. My whole evening was so much better after.
Lol one of these randomly showed up at my house when I was in college. I'm not a dog person so when we found no chip or lost dog post we gave him to our neighbors. Weezer was a hilarious dude who would sit on a little bike cart and go on massive rides with his new family. They loved this breed so much that when he passed they ended up getting another one but he's car sick and doesn't go on bike trips.

The most beautiful breed- so elegant and pretty with that gorgeous coat and lovely smile.
What a gorgeous dog! I was amazed that she lost so little hair during the grooming and pleased that there was no matting in such a densely furred coat. Her owners must take good care of her. She is certainly ready for a late snowstorm. I hope she loses the extra insulation before summer heat.

Such a beautiful girl ❤️! My family had a mixed bread male, who looked exactly the same! He was very protective of me since I was a baby and I was the only one who could do anything to him. For example - I used to put flowers on his head and pretended to be princess. I was of course princess too. He passed away when I was 9. Best dog my parents could wish for a child. ❤️

When they said she was good for grooming, maybe they meant at home. 😂 But honestly, besides not being able to stay still much during the bath (and whining a few times), she was still very good!

I have a Samoyed, and her name is Ally; I adopted her at 3yrs, and I can 100% guarantee that all Samoyeds are LAND CLOUDS! Ally loves all types of attention and has been given so many adorable nicknames over the years, including Clouds, but my favourite would have to be Marshmallow… 🤣 kids come up with the best names. Ally is a bit of a celebrity in local area, she even has a small posse of kids who come by and pet her, give her head scratches and cuddles every time they go on walks with their grandparents. She's adorable

Samoyeds are my favorite breed and one day I'd love to have one. Even though they shed like crazy, they produce very little dander and are thought to produce very little to none of the protein in their skin/saliva that causes allergies in humans. And it's thought that they are hypoallergenic while still having a coat that sheds because the native peoples that originally bred them used their shed fur to spin clothing. And while they are considered to be a livestock guardian in their native area, they were also bred to be a comfort companion and to keep their humans warm and secure....basically a living anxiety blanket. Seems like the perfect dog to me.

She looks more like an Eskie (American Eskimo).
She didn't look that small. She looked normal for a female. Males at standard can be in the 50's-60's lb range. Females are around 35-40's lbs range. They are significantly smaller than males. Some people do overfeed them so I have met a couple that are 80's lb range and it is hard to tell because of the fur.
She has a beautiful coat to start with. Lovely pup 🐶
