    Hi Veronica ! I’m 18 and I also have a small brand where I sew and design clothing. Lately though, I have been feeling really pressured to make things that people will like that way I can make money off of my passion. This scares me a little bit because I feel like I’m not allowing myself to develop my creativity and personal style when it comes to my fashion art. I relate so much to this video and it’s very comforting to know I am not alone! I will definitely be following your steps on going with the flow and simply enjoying what we do ❤️ thank you for this

      I’m glad to hear that, the journey is truly different for everyone but I believe in the long wrong it will be for the better, can’t for the creative process! I wish you all the best of luck with your brand✨

      That's exactly my fear. Of trying to make money out of my creativity and ending up being more worried about the business side of it than the creative side.
      It's such a paradox that when you care the least about making money, you end up making the most likeable product helping you grow your business but the moment you start thinking about the business, you feel like you're bound to perform well that takes the freedom and hence your creativity away.

    It’s so nice to see a young designer, wanting to be sustainable and ethical. I hope you are using all natural fibers.
    It’s hard to find clothes that aren’t made out of polyester. Nowadays I wish people would switch back to natural fibers. All of this is adding to the plastic problem in our water systems.

    I totally relate to this, I’ve been dying to start my creative ventures but I just don’t have the energy to sustain it for income. I feel like monetizing passions can be overrated because it takes the fun out of it

    • @VaedSlowfashionstudio
      @VaedSlowfashionstudio  Před 2 lety

      It’s truly a struggle but you just have to be selective with what you want to monetize, honestly don’t know the answer but we will figure out😂

    You have no idea just how much I resonate with this video, I am an aspiring designer and I find out if I get accepted into fashion school in 3 days. I started my brand back in 2019 and I put out my last collection of streetwear pieces back in 2021. I have since put my brand on a hiatus to focus on applying to fashion school because I want to shift from just putting images on shirts to actual pieces that I’ve been thawed out and cut and sewn Quite frankly I am terrified because I have so many ideas and so many dreams, and it’s been an uphill battle for the last three years, because I get no assistance with school I have to find a way to fund my education myself while working full-time with special needs kids sorry to just lay out all my problems like this, but I feel for you completely and hopefully we will find our tribe and people will resonate with what it is that we have to create.

    We all have to find what works for our own individual strengths and weaknesses and you are discovering what is most important for you and what you can realistically handle, so keep going and you'll find the balance you need to make it work or change direction. If you ever need any resources I would be happy to share whatever I have discovered over my 30 years of trying to make things happen. I'm still trying after years of setbacks. I totally appreciate your candid video. You're an amazing person and talented designer and I'll be keeping you in my prayers to find your happy medium. You are changing the world already touching one person's life at time as you can see in the comments ;)
    It would be amazing if you could partner up with someone or find a way to get funded (crowdfunding??) so you can increase the demand and have a hired help because... You are not meant to be alone in the whole process all the time... It leads to burnout and resentment and mixed feelings.
    You are wise beyond your years ... We all wait to see how your journey unfolds 💕✨ keep going girl 🥳 and yes, have fun along way!

    Hola Veronica!👋
    You already have the right mind set and outlook to life, the keys to success. You have shown to be someone to take time to step back and analyze and see the reality of your situation. Taking the necessary steps and making the necessary adjustments in moving forward.
    We all wish it would be easier but the truth is that we grow and learn the most in times of trial and tribulation. The faster we accept this the faster we learn to embrace the struggle instead of fighting it. We don’t fear it anymore because we know it’s how life is built to work. Things are only strengthened through pain, effort and exercise both physically, neurologically, and spiritually.
    You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and the right character to be able to constantly grow and adapt. Therefore you have the keys to unlock whatever and wherever your heart and mind lead you. From a fellow designer, continue to absorb what is useful, discard what is not, add what is uniquely your own.
    And know that it always works out, in some form or fashion, for those who work hard and are constantly growing and adapting. Trust.🙏🏼
    God Bless and may He set your heart ablaze!!!🔥🔥🔥

    I love this video from the bottom of my heart ❤️. I wish I could support your brand because what you are doing is incredible. I know you feel as if is not sustainable or perfect enough but truly think your doing as much as you can do with what you have right now. This is coming from a sustainability student that is about to graduate and wish I could afford a dress made by you but I'll instead try to make one myself. You're a wonderful person and you inspired me to keep going with my passion of helping out the world in ways that we haven't done before because it didn't make tons of money. I feel like we are both looking a an answer to do what we love without hurting the environment but there is no easy answer. Anyway this video really touched me and wish that one day maybe we can find the way to help the world so we can prosper. Send you tons of hugs/ love, wishing you the very best and will always be here no matter the content you make!

    Hi Veronica, I also have a sustainable brand, but I’m making only home decor pieces. I looked up your store and (just my subjective opinion) your store looks nice but your clothes pictures need some styling (because it’s so unique, you need to show it). Also to make some extra money, you can think about adding some accessories like bags, scarf etc.
    And because everything is hand made, I think you can put your prices up.

    Hi Veronica! To be honest I've recently started my brand journey and after dabbling into some of the ways on how to create a sustainable fashion brand all I understood was when I'm creating more of clothes I am actually contributing to the problem in some way no matter how eco-friendly the material is because if they are not being sold they're contributing to that situation in a way. So I've decided to take a break and reevaluate the core principles of my business.

    • @VaedSlowfashionstudio
      @VaedSlowfashionstudio  Před rokem

      I felt the same way and sometimes still do but at the same time the biggest problem is making clothes at a very large scale so if you’re making it a smaller scale it’s still not as harmful. don’t be hard on yourself if you want to make “new” clothes. There’s no perfect method to having a sustainable brand it’s about about being conscious about where you’re getting things from how it’s being made and what’s happening to it after it’s lifetime.

  • @oa8463
    @oa8463 Před rokem

    Do you do upcycled clothing? Would that be easier? Would it be sustainable?
    I shop exclusively at goodwill n local thrifts (sometimes depop n poshmark) for the past 6ish years.
    I have been trying to modify, modernize, and/or glamorize my garments to match my pintrest pins. Unfortunately, i can't sew 😕.
    Do you think that would be a feasible thing for you to try?
    I get most of my name brand gowns for $3.50.

Other people are watching this video and others if you make them please keep that in mind and remember that you’re making these videos for us so it will be nice to hear them without having a blast my volume just that way when an ad comes on I don’t damn near lose my hearing!!!
