If you see this guy's animations, a lot (if not all) of them are first person, so his first short film would be like this. but im sure in the future he will add more people/settings :)
I mean in his past shorts you see the same monsters individually stalking or attacking different people and it's always first person pov.
I've always imagined the Lights Are Off animations to be set in a shared universe during the beginning and immediate aftermath of an insanely bizarre apocalypse.

Hoo boy, I thought after all the shorts I've seen from you this one wouldn't phase me due to my new tolerance for horror. But man was I wrong! I got jump-scared and chills ran down my spine more times than I can count! Incredible job and I can't wait to see more!
I absolutely loved this one. A bunch of cute monsters, and I guess jumpscares. This might be pretty creepy to a lot of people, but I don't think it's that scary. It is really cool though, and I like it a lot. I can definitely appreciate the creativity and all of the work that goes into this. Thank you so much for the awesome digital animation work. Really cool and awesome. Not gonna lie, this might not scare me, but I bet it does scare most people. I've became pretty numb to fear over my lifetime as I've been through real life horrors. I've had guns in my face, been stabbed and shot at, so movies don't really invoke the same sense as the real deal, either way, definitely awesome work on your part. Really do love it.
That was so good, the buildup wasn't too long nor was it unimpactful when all the creatures revealed themselves. Outstanding job!

I want to thank you for bringing primordial fear back into my life. I hadn't been afraid of the dark or jumped at loud sounds in decades, and both happened while watching this. It's so amazing, who would have figured one can miss being scared in that matter, but it makes me feel so young, like a little kid. Again thank you. Amazingly thanks to having watched all your other videos the most horrifying part to me was the sky and the storm itself, I was dreading one of those nightmare hyenas showing up in the sky. I really enjoyed it great work. Thank you.

Dude this is crazy good. I like how your videos are so engaging and realistic as if it's actually happening to you, like a simulation. I also like how the monsters look, I can tell you are very creative and I like how these videos allow you to display your imagination. I've had some crazy nightmares that I can't explain to people unless they've experienced it, but this technology could make that possible. I look forward to more! Also, I also find it interesting the way the monsters run together - it's unearthly looking and not human.

Holy shit this is so well done. The characters are highly disturbing, and the setting in which you portray them, equally so. The darkness, the atmosphere, all the small details to sounds etc. all work so well together! It was really suspense and I couldn't help but feel really bad for the person inside that house, knowing what was coming for him. I really look forward to more of these longer videos! Hats off to you sir!

Your work&art has always astonished me. On the other hand, comparing this with your older work, I found what you’ve been doing lately (except pinhead) less scary and maybe a little overloaded with sound effects and graphic details. In summary, I personally think you get better results when it’s more simple.

I need to watch it a few more times before developing an actual opinion but these are some of my immediate reactions.
I feel like as a whole the scare would've been a lot stronger had you kept us with the perspective character the whole time and allowed the creative little critters' emergence and break in be implied. It feels like the atmosphere is way stronger at the beginning prior to any of the creatures being shown; but once you do and you give them all gory expositions them in full light, it completely wipes away any of the mystery that could be had trying to discern their form and instead allows the viewer to nitpick visual oddities and imperfections of the animation, rather than letting them bask in the spook.
I think a lot of your other shorts have a much stronger grasp of lighting, actually, and the rest of the work isn't terrible. The shot at 2:56 doesn't even need an outrageous stinger to be scary, it benefits from both the visual composition and the fact that we can't make out exactly what is behind the face. And then there's the bit at 3:40! Much better use the environment.
If you just tore out those reveal/approach sequences I think you'd have a much better piece.

Having so many characters at once was a little overwhelming but your work is second to none, when each character got their spotlight it was a little more enjoyable than when they were all together. Just my opinion with a little criticism sprinkled on top. Discard it or keep it close, I hope you make more content.

I love this artist. He's unique and great at creating an atmosphere. There were a couple really tense moments (like 3:18, when the MC was looking out the window and one half of it was obscured bc there's an expectation to see something) and 4:07 scared me a little, but plotline and fear factor could improve. I understand he was working with 5 minutes, but he could've managed a more complex plotline. "Scary monsters attack me on a dark and stormy night" feels nostalgic but also childlike. I think the diversity of the creatures detracts from the fear factor. There's no common theme so it lends to a feeling of the short being nonsensical. The designs themselves could improve. I'm in love with smile cat, but I can't help but consider it and monsters like the white bear with sharp teeth more creepy-cute than scary. The monster at 1:59 made me want to laugh but I might just be weird lol. When I think of genuinely scary monsters, I think of Silent Hill. Also couldn't help but think the puddle at 1:39 looked unrealistic. "It was a dark and stormy night" thing is a cliche that works the best in more sophisticated pieces, but I enjoyed how the trope contributed to the plotline. It's scary BECAUSE it forces the character to stay indoors. Where will you run when the ground is slippery and there are 200 MPH winds? The isolation also contributed to the overall fear factor. I agree with another commentor that said it would've been better without the big reveal of all the monsters and stayed on the character's perspective.
My two cents. I love this man and I am by no means skilled or an expert. I'm looking forward to what he comes out with next!
