Just paused at 10.40 mark. You are so right about the yellow!!. I love soft buttery yellows and in a previous home painted a room in dulux ringlet. As each day went by I became more and more overwhelmed until I couldn't bear to go in the loungeroom at all. It lasted a week. I repainted in dulux Lamarque which is a french white with just a tiny hint of creamy soft butter in certain lights. It's now my favourite paint colour for all over a home. I still love yellow but only use in decor items and mix with more greens to ground it. Lesson learnt.
Edit to add, Yes please to the moon sign colours and decor ideas! I've never thought about my moon sign in this way before. Now I really want to learn more ☺️
Thankyou Jacqueline for this educational series, I look forward to seeing the next one.

Thank you Sylvain! You're right, yellow can be mellow and it can be too much- finding the balance is the key 🟡 I love yellow (even though we don't have any in our own home😅). Yellow always brings me a positive vibe and someone that has lots of yellow in their home, I usually find to be kind & spirited 🤗 take care x

❤I would say that so far this is the most important video you've made. Houses, of course, are for keeping us safe, but it is how we feel in our homes that keeps us sound. Loved the video (watched all of it on my tv).

What brings me joy in my home is watching decorating videos like yours!
Awesome video! A Travelogue and a How-to, all in the same show.
So, how to take ideas from the travelogue element and transform them into the How-to element?
If your room is too light because of big windows, then paint the walls dark.
If your room is too dark because of small windows, then paint the walls light.
If a room is too bright in the afternoon, then use dark curtains which you can close.
If a kitchen, for example, is too dark in the morning, then use use light, sunny curtains.
My Father built our house so that the kitchen had the morning sun, the dining room had the mid-day sun, and the living room had the evening sun. The bedrooms were on the north side.
Switch out window treatments to compliment the season.
If you can't go out and buy new furniture, you can buy pillows and throw blankets to create comfort.
Choose large plants for large spaces and small plants for small spaces.
Choose plants that compliment the style of the space.
Look at the slides in the video. Imagine how each space would look before and after the plants were added. Then look at your own space and imagine how it would look with a plant added.
Use fresh or artificial plants that are seasonal. For example, Tulips in the early spring.
For experimenting with color, I would suggest choosing a special space for experimenting with different color decor. For example, the a sideboard or entrance table.
Gather a collection of green and yellow items for March and create a vignette. Use a solid green vase to anchor the items. Or use a solid green runner. Add books and photos and daffodils.
Do the same for April - use pastels, for example.
The same for June - blue and white, for example.
Keep experimenting with different color themes.
If you don't own anything orange, then think about buying something orange for October.
If you only have one red item, then buy two more red items to make a grouping to show up better.
Repetition is one of the design elements.
Look at the slides in the video showing walls painted various colors.
Imaging these walls to be white before they were painted.
Now do the opposite - imagine your walls at home to be blue, etc.
The same with drapes and pillows. Notice how you can create color themes with accessories, not just by painting walls.
If you don't have enough enclosed storage spaces, I have found that you can take traditional book shelves and use baskets on them for storage. This is a hybrid of open and closed storage.
Personal touches can mean several different things:
Things people gave you as a gift and they are sentimental.
Things people gave you because they didn't want them anymore.
Things you inherited and they are sentimental.
Things you bought because you liked them and wanted to do something for yourself for once.
Someone asked me, “What do YOU want?” This really makes you think!
Materials: I never cared much for metals, but because I have been experimenting making vignettes with different themes, I have ventured out more. For example, I came into possession of a set of tarnished silver items: large tray, pitcher and two large candelabras. I put them out in October with orange candles, chrysanthemums, and orange knick knacks. They looked great!
You can make it a challenge to take materials that are not that interesting and create fabulous vignettes with them. I don't think copper is that interesting, but I found a tarnished copper pot, put Christmas berries and greens in it, set it on a red plaid runner, and I got lots of compliments on Facebook. Something metal can embellish a display more than you realize.
Speaking of lamps -- I came to the conclusion that lamps and artwork are not things that you would switch out every season, like you would a dining room centerpiece. You don't buy lamps and art very often. But how could you display lamps and artwork in such a way that people would want to buy them more?
I decided to give myself a Lamp and Artwork Challenge! I went to the thrift shops and tried to match up lamps with artwork and took pictures of each set I found in the store. The results were amazing! I could very quickly find a lamp and picture to go together, based on color and style. After that, I started noticing lamps and art more.
I love this show. It is so inspiring !!!
What brings me joy in my home is packing up last month's decorations in a box and getting out the box of next month's decorations and trying to create vignettes that are different from last year's vignettes. LOL

Thank you so much for this detailed comment, I think it will help out our subscribers alot 🙏 Lol, I am the same and have a box for every season (currently taking over the attic, much to laszlo's dismay😅). I love what you said about plants in particular- choosing a plant that matches the style of the space. So often we buy plants just because we like them but don't think about whether or not it even works well with the interior. Buying a plant that matches = creates harmony in the space. Although in our house Laszlo has full rein on houseplants 🤣🪴 I can't complain though, I have my say on all the rest of the decor 🤣 Take care! 💙🐦

I loved this video! Yes, please do a moon sign video, I was very intrigued at the examples used and would love to hear more.
I have some other video ideas, if you are interested. I found your channel from your cottagecore video and I heard about a new design trend called Modern Cottage. I was wondering what your thoughts or interpretation of it might be. In line with the greenery section of this video, Biophilic design, could possibly be it's own separate video in this series? Anyway, I love your channel it always inspires me.

Watching this video, I’ve noticed that a lot of these tips lean towards minimalism. However, is it possible to make a holistic home interior within the boundaries of more maximal styles like Cottagecore?
