      It is unreal what Lectric was able to do on an e-bike and sell it for $2,000. What I'm not sure a lot of people realize yet, is by Lectric doing this many other e-bikes brands are going to be able to start bringing this type of tech to market on new electric bikes.

      Lectric is going to really put the pressure on the rest of the market to spec bikes with new tech and bring down prices. So this should be good for the e-bike market overall.

      @@tomgillottinobody is pretending that, we know not everyone has 2k to spend on a ebike but that doesn't change the fact that what you get for the price is insane and that Lectric is changing the game. ive been using an ebike for heavy delivery work since December 2019 and never really thought about it until this year and while doing SO MUCH research I am just so shocked and hyped for Lectric as a company; they seem so engaged in everything from inception to customer service and furthermore i really do think i will wait to get the ONE as my next ebike this year since it is definitely time for an upgrade for me. They definitely are trensetters and will revolutionize with this bike specifically! Hopefully a spring seat should do enough for minimizing bumpy rides but eveything else is on point, specially the weight and battery as a shorter rider myself with a 4 floor walk up lol. Eh. I just started commuting on city streets, 32 miles a day. Some bad pavement and joints, but not too bad. Got an XP 3.0, and doing the suspension not very good at higher speeds like 20mph+. Locked it out, better now. A quality suspension would be better, but it's ok, I don't mind the bumps. If the streets were worse or doing some gravel/dirt trails, absolutely would want a quality suspension

  • @chow-chihuang4903
    @chow-chihuang4903 Před 5 měsíci +5

    Neat bike, I like positive disruption!
    Not for me as I’d like a suspension fork and need more weight capacity than its rear rack can handle (only 30lbs! - maybe a future version will have a stronger integrated rack as well as a suspension fork), but I hope they do well. Well enough to cover the bulk purchase of this gearbox. That had to have been a significant investment.
    One question: Besides adjusting the acceleration curve, can you adjust the number of PAS levels and the power of each? My XPedition uses a similarly strong 85Nm 1310W peak hub motor and I want a couple more PAS levels so the gaps between them are smaller but the display doesn’t let me do either.

    Totally attracted to this bike with the pinion gearing. Though, I’d pay more if it had suspension (preferably full suspension -and on a folding frame?), a torque sensor, a mid-drive motor (not compatible with pinion, I think?), throttle on-demand, perhaps larger diameter wheels for better control and feel, and a battery to go from Mason to the Ohio River (downtown Cincinnati) and back. Maybe 4-ish hours/46miles? total ride time/distance round trip? Think about it. Woah. Lectric could do this if they wanted. They’d make awesome, AWESOME competition to Biktrix, Aventon, Rad, etc.

    It's got a nice motor but other than that I will have to give it a hard pass. The standard battery is not enough range, long range option should be standard. The added weight for a 6 speed pinion gearbox with no torque sensor is not worth the cost for a tiny bit of convenience in weekly maintenance. I would rather see a 9 speed chain cassette and derailleur with the stronger motor and make the long range battery standard.

      Well, the gearbox goes where a mid-mount motor would go, so you’d have to put the motor in a hub. This also lets them use a throttle. I like to pedal, but they are still useful.

Also for a commuter bike 26 or 27.5" wheels would also be nice to take advantage the pinion system. Yeah it's 2 grand and most of that is for the belt and pinion. But like if they really wanted to make something special get a torque sensor and a better wheel size to take advantage of everything. Those brakes are also going to be an issue as well. They are so close to making something truly special but stopped short.

    It looks overpriced, and is it really a commuter like? Let's be honest just because you review. A bike in Arizona or on flat land doesn't make it a commuter. Put it in the cities like New York and then let's see what it does in real world commuting. Until then it's a nice toy
