“Oppressing Observers Whilst Protecting The Mob” | Met Police Apologise For 'Victim Blaming'

  • The Met Police apologised after an officer made remarks about the appearance of Gideon Falter, the leader of an antisemitism charity, who was wearing a skull-cap near a pro-Palestine march in London.
Falter was told his presence was causing a "breach of peace."
Scotland Yard first apologised for the officer's comment but later retracted their statement and issued another apology for causing offense.
The initial statement was criticised as victim-blaming and the Met clarified that "being Jewish is not a provocation" and apologised again.
Falter, the chief executive of Campaign Against Antisemitism, stated he was not there to counter-protest but was walking after attending synagogue.
In a video, a police officer warned Falter of potential arrest, leading Falter to accuse the Met of creating "no-go zones" for Jewish people.
Peter Cardwell discusses the incident with former Met detective Peter Bleksley.

The guy was leaving synagogue on Shabbat Saturday. He wanted to walk the way he tried to as opposed to another route that would've likely been longer due to rules on Shabbat restricting the distance one can walk, so he needed to go that route. Now to the best of my knowledge these pro-palestine marches change their routes, and last Saturday they decided to march along the route where there is a Jewish synagogue, where there would be Jewish people walking around leaving the Saturday Shabbat services. And the Jew gets threatened with arrest for trying to walk home from synagogue... As opposed to the pro-palestine marches being banned from marching past and all around a Jewish synagogue on Shabbat Saturday when there would be Jewish people around there, etc... That's what happened

The actions of this, so called, "Police Constable NW 377"(a supposed Sergent, if you please ?), is an abomination in the eyes of every single right thinking person who sees this video. Clearly, this man, is neither a fit, nor proper person, to hold The Office of Constable, and who, can clearly be seen in this video to be committing the most serious criminal offence of "Missconduct in A Public Office." This man, not just ought to be, but 'MUST' be dismissed from office, with immediate effect. When our, so called, "Police" are quite happy to be openly filmed as behaving like members of The SS, we really are in extremely big trouble, arent we ?

There is no excuse for this. The Met have been policing demonstrations in London for many decades. They should have it right by now. The senior management are fairly and squarely responsible for this shambles. Supervising officers are briefed by senior officers before demonstrations and they in turn brief officers under their command on the day. Officers on duty on the day will police in accordance with their briefing. It is lamentable that after this monumental blunder that senior officers released an apology that caused even more offence to many people. Tragic.

Whilst the Met Police are a disgraceful, two tiered, biased organisation these days and a complete embarrassment to the uniform, I can't help feel a sense of karma about this. This man (and/or his organisation) are the ones who went crying to the Police about TR having breakfast nearby to a rally where he was going to report on and also as an aside, was supportive of! This has caused him and his family so much worry, distress, costs and has led to him being banned from London for months now. He will see be in Court tomorrow where he could be sent to prison again because of THIS MAN (and/or his organisation. Whilst I repeat again, the Police actions are a disgrace, I have no sympathy for him and say that what comes around goes around.
