Black Tigers of India | Similipal Tiger Reserve

- Similipal tiger reserve has always had an isolated tiger population in the eastern part of India, but with almost zero connectivity with other tiger reserves, or the absence of any other tiger population in its vicinity, the population remained isolated for decades, which caused inbreeding among a very small founding population of tigers. It is believed that the decades of inbreeding has resulted in a single mutation in the Transmembrane Aminopeptidase Q (Taqpep) gene. Many experts have pointed towards inbreeding as the primary reason for the black tigers of Similipal.
All the images and videos are captured through camera traps and shared by the forest department of Similipal.

The thought of a black tiger at night is terrifying
The thought of ANY tiger at night is terrifying.😂
Don't worry, you won't even see it coming.
Would end the same either way.
What about at daytime?
@@gauravrajput8109 Day or night, black or striped... you'd die.
This is completely new to me. Incredible. The wildlife of Asia is gorgeous, it should be protected at all costs
Wow, this is the first time I see a black tiger, truly magnificent
First time for me too. Magnificent is the perfect word.
I seen two black tigers. They played in the NBA. MJ and Kobe. They were killers.
Yeah, me too. I only knew of white tigers.

Holy moly….I didn’t know black tigers existed. So beautiful and huge!
You should already know about the size of the black ones 😉
@@GrandEmporerlololol
They do its just really rare in the panthera family. Out of a few percent of tigers can be born a panther, but like I said it's really rare. Even pure white tigers are also rare to see or white panthers as they're called. & no I'm not talking about the ones in Vegas, those white tigers are made due to inbreeding sadly. White panthers are born naturally in the big cat family.
Though stripewise I've never seen tigers like these before. These beauties are unique.
@@c.m.cameraman7918 Melanism is the word you’re looking for. The black ones are melanistic, the white ones are leucistic. These particular melanistic tigers are only found in the Similipal Tiger Reserve.
They tranquillized that tiger and painted it black, don’t believe what you see in the internet, after that they let it free in the wild it is all about attention now, youtubers and their channel
So much animals and so much colors I never would have believed that the black tiger exist
Wow. I have never knew they existed. These black tigers are beautiful 😊
We know there are beautiful white tigers and lions in this world. Would be amazing if there were black lions too. But I know it is a myth 😢.
@@danielwoodgate5897 Actually there are Lions with dark Brown manes and Skin. You can look it up on CZcams. They are the closest Lions got to a Black variety.
So long as humans don't try to make more of them by force like white tigers
@@danielwoodgate5897 Its not out of the possibility cause of the melanistic genes, but maybe less likely and being naturally bred out because the environmental pressures for them in open savannah Africa would be particularly hard, being darker would make them overheat (already the case with males with black manes and this also makes them less effective breeders despite black manes signifying greater testosterone and fitness that attracts female) and these lions would also have no where to hide from prey and rival predators so its even less likely for them to reach adulthood.
@@kennethsatria6607 I agree
When you miss click the "bucket fill" but it still looks good.

37 saal ke age me first time Back Tiger dekh raha hoon.
Same and same age, just when you think you've seen it all ey!! 😂
Ye black panther ka cross hoga sayad 😂😂😂😂
@@gmer860 Black panther ka cross🤣🤣🤣
@@dabashishnaik2574 ho bhi sakta hai male black panther ya jaguar lioness ki size zitna hota hai 😂😂😂
Me too at 57.
Eventually we're gonna see some pure black tigers like those melanistic leopards and jaguars! 😍
Hopefully Lions get there too where some prides have black lions. Seeing those colour variations in the wild is always such an extraordinarily sight
Also cougars/mountain lions get black melanin too.
Unlikely for lions cause they live in the open grassland
@@remhk6672 There have never been any documented accounts of melanistic cougars. The genes responsible for the mutation just don't seem to exist in the species.
Very rare very beautiful. Nature is great 🙏
God is great!
@@askflel345 The only brainless people are people like you who really think that a universe and everything in it came about by chance, for you there is hell
To be honest though, I find black tigers to be a little ugly, although it probably helps them with camouflage. On the contrary, I think black leopards look absolutely breathtaking. Golden tigers though are a whole another level of beauty ♥
They definitely adjust to their environment. Deep dark thick jungles and tropical forests, enough to give you the heebie-jeebies trekking through them.
Wouldn't get caught in those places unless on the back of elephants and well armed parties. Oh, the days of the Empire are so long gone!
Idk how you can look at that and call it "ugly" lmao
I did not know India had black tigers until now
magnificent beautiful big cats! 🐅
Bro it's a sign of danger....less genetic mutations is the reason for this tigers...
Golden, Black & White are all mutation of Bengal Tiger
Genetic isolation!@@tafael130
Both white and black tigers originated from Odisha.
Red panda is the best.
Fun fact: Since Tigers are part of the Panthera genus, this technically makes this tiger a Black Panther.
What no their 2 separate species a Black panther is composed of leopards that's all The Tiger is Tiger and can never nor ever will live like a leopard also might I add their enemies comparing the 2 is offensive this creature is still Tiger with darker color that's all (sigh) people
@@crimsonfang264You have a point, I mean both cats are different in facial features and size, especially size
@@crimsonfang264 "a Black panther is composed of leopards that's all"
- WRONG. 'Black panther' applies to leopards AND jaguars with excessive melanin deposition
@@jamaaelmariano3242 his point was wrong
@@Dr.Ian-Plect no black panthers are leopards often described as black panthers black jaguars are jaguars also also not now it's the middle of the night
I didn't even knew that black tiger exists, as I'm growing old the world is getting crazier...
Absolutly incredible ! Amazing❤❤so bieutiful ❤
Incrível parabens. Que animal magnífico. Super registro. Grande abraço Brasil
Now, all we need are black lions and black snow leopards, and we can have all 5 black panthers.
and black polar bear
@@user-sb4wm1uo1f Polar bears aren't in the panthera genus, therefore cannot be black panthers.
@@user-sb4wm1uo1fFun fact; If we remove the white thick fur from its body, then what we got is a thick and black skin underneath on polar bear fur.
Would be incredible if a future offspring ends up completely black.
Imagine if they bred one of these tigers with a black jaguar/leopard.
I know it isn't ethical but it would be cool to have a black cat the size of a tiger
Such kind of breeding happens in tiger/big cat farms, and here in India, it's prohibited to maintain any farm with such exotic animals. These black tigers live in their natural habitat, a forest of over 2750 sq. km without any human interference.
Normal tiger looks better in my opinion
Yellow orange with black stripes
I know that we should leave nature be but if this is a result of inbreeding, like having white tigers, can we, at least, try to connect this population to other tigers so that they could have healthy offsprings for the next generation or place some there for a trial run? @@SymbolisingWilderness
I believe this is what science would term as a Melanistic tiger.
Wow what can I say absolutely majestic please protect these beautiful rare creatures.
1st in my life to see this black tiger video
Absolutely stunning!
Its awesome to see all the different varieties of big cat!
Just one word to say ... BEAUTIFUL. Thats why we need to care the planet.
Never thought such thing existed
Camouflage level 🔥🔥🔥
Wow this is unreal didn’t know anything about them
Really halpy to see they still bave such magnificent animal ❤
Beautiful. A wonderful thing to marvel at and hopefully they’re not being exploited just for people’s benefit but to conserve them to sustain their environment
It’s cause by a genetic mutation as a results of inbreeding and isolation. They are normal tigers and also not a different species
@@speakurmind555 good to know and I wouldn’t see them as a different species of tiger.
It seems they’re being taken advantage of though which is a shame
Beautiful and majestic a true treasure in the forest that needs to be protected 💗
Stunning animals. Thank goodness these precious tigers live in a sanctuary, are unpoachable and are still a viable species. 🤞🏻
Smae thung happens in Cheetahs 🐆
They're called King Cheetahs and they're absolutely the most gorgeous beings on the planet!
Black tiger camouflage is ridiculous...u definitely wont see that sneaking up on u in the shadows of trees
Love tigers❤ Never seen or heard of a black one.Thank you ❤
very interesting.Visited Similipal many years back.It was a good experience
Wow! I have seen isolated photos of melanistic tigers but never so many in one place, so incredibly rare but here they're common... I wonder if it confers some advantage so it is not "bred out", even if its original cause is inbreeding
Omg they are so beautiful!! Such a unique species regardless of inbreeding. I hope these animals stay well protected and respected for years to come.
Thank you for sharing..❤🙏🏽
The Tigress with 3 nearly grown cubs is such a good mother! You don't often see such a high success rate. I wonder if their color is beneficial for the cubs' survival to adulthood.
I love these black tigers, so large and beautiful
Definitely interesting. I really appreciate your video.
New addition of divine, thank you for your videography.
Good News for India Tiger Project Jai Shriram 👌
Wow a pack of black tigers
Not a single one I used to watch
Thank you 🙏 very much
Rare black tiger in the world ❤
Wow, I didn't know black tigers existed. What a beautiful creature.
This is amazing for the first I saw them....
Wow. Melanistic Tiger that so rare one…..🐅👍👍
When you thought tigers couldn't be more terrifying.
“How many stripes you want?”
“MOAR”
That black colour looks makes it more beautiful ❤
In my head I just heard the late Steve Irwin say..” what a Magnificent creature” she’s a “Beauty”
Absolutely beautiful 🐅🐯 I didn't even realise that the black Tiger existed. Why are they different and black, can anyone tell me because i find this so interesting.
It's okay I found out , it's a genetic mutation!!
Human inbreeding: the hills have eyes
Tiger inbreeding: beautiful black fur
Tigers are the most beautiful big cats IMO (I love all big cats and think they’re all beautiful though). They have such a diverse amount of coloration; golden tabby, white, snow (pure white with no stripes), and now black. Even regular tiger coloration is immensely beautiful and comes in different shades of orange with unique stripes for every individual. Magnificent.
First time in my life I have seen a Black Tiger. Just Wow !
Such a majestic and rare sight of these awesome big cats 😮
Breathtakingly beautiful.
First time see it, what a beautiful creature😮😮
Exceptional and divine❤The pure essence of pure Beauty
not only black tiger but india also have white & golden tiger in (wild) india is truley incredible in preserving wild animals in their own habitat & not locking them in captivity which is far more easier
Fancied my self as somewhat of a person with a good amount of animal knowledge! Guess we learn something new everyday!
Its so beautiful & Wonder full cats!!
Beautiful, dont let no one where they are.. keep them safe
Excellent
their freaking beautifull protect them at all cost plz
This is the most beautiful looking big cat that exists. Wow.
0:16-- Tiger,"Dude, why the hell you keep taking my damn picture?"
A all black 500 lbs tiger will be the stuff of nightmare, run into one of those in the woods and your soul will leave your body before the tiger even attacks you.
It would die as it will not blend with the environment
The bad thing with color mutation is that, they cannot blend easily with the environment, so they are easily detected from far away which makes the hunting hella harder.
An when you thought uv seen it all....there goes a black striped tiger in india
I've never heard of these types of tiger that's so cool
Really beautiful
This is how a new subspecies starts, especially when they are only found in one certain geographical location.
I don't want a hunter near them please, they are so beautiful.
Wow, so many!! I knew they were rare but this many together
It's great. Nature is so beautiful 😍
Wonderful camouflage for deep forest ❤Subhan Allah 🌺
Why ala hate boar 🐗 😊
Allah is fake....
They should be kept in secret in my opinion, a lot of bad people would want a piece of those tigers
Beautiful & unique black-stripe tigers in Eastern India. I think it is interesting to see 4-5 of these adult black-strip tigers appearing TOGETHER in the wild, apparently without any tension; this seems to go against tiger natural tendency of being loner, being master of its own territory?
A black tiger officially the most badass animal and easily the most badass cat ever!
Absolutely stunning, let’s hope that they remain there in peace
I haven't been knowing that there is magnificent creature like this.
Just as I thought. Not black at all like a black panther, just a little more black than the average tiger. Still a fascinating sight.
My gosh. Absolutely beautiful.
Splendid ❤
अति सुन्दर
Extremely Beautiful ❤❤❤❤
Absolutely Beautiful animals
Cool. I’m gonna get two of them and two white lions and a black panther. And a snow leopard, definitely a snow leopard. Maybe a white gorilla. Tasmanian tiger would be nice. I already have a chupacabra and a baby yeti.
Wait...is this a new species of tigers or what. I LOVE TIGERS . I have never heard of black tigers before? Beautiful
Not a new species, refer description.
