You should try it on a 20 year old one.
Mine is fun.
Old, slow & underpowered by modern standards, no ABS, no fuel gauge.
Cranky and farts a bit.
Love it.
Yea the Mk1's are better, although mine does'nt fart, thats just me lol..

Bike sounds nice but I think you need to look around a bit more and it's called a life saver for a good reason
He actually did do the lifesaver give him a break noones perfect on their first ride but he did pretty damn well but yes he did do it

Been riding for 32+ years. My 9th bike was a katana 600 which has the same engine as this. It was great fun for 3 years. But I decided to go back to a bigger bike. I now ride a zx14r. It’s a little faster than the 600. lol.

Very nice, big, massive BANDIT fan, I have a 650 Bandit, one very careful, cautious owner, who basically ran it in for 15,000 miles and it pulls, fly's up steep, steep hills like its falling off a cliff, 2nd gear over 80mph, before the red-line. And the Bandit 650 S, NOT the one to get, my 2005 GSF 650 BANDIT???, is like being in control of an ANGRY KKCRAZY WASP, that doubles for an unarmed EXORCET, SIDEWINDER missile. The acceleration is time vortex, bubble, tunnel, enhancing experience. Such a Real biker's TREAT. Professor Bandit B.T.E. OUT. BANDIT TORQUE ENJOYMENT..
what is wrong with the S model?
@@generallabamba2771 Bandit 650 S, saw a video of Bandit S, sauntering past an old guy on a hatchback,1,000 rpm, from the red line. My late beloved 650 Bandit, 1,000 rpm, from the red line in 2nd gear 75mph,was very special, more torque than Bandits S. Prof, Bandit 650 B,T.E.,out,, Bandit Torque Enjoyment only, nothing technical.

What you want? Is a GSF 650 BANDIT, NOT EVEN A BANDIT S, BETTER THAN A BANDIT S, VERY, VERY FIERCE ACCELERATION. RIDING LIKE A MAINIAC SAFELY IS A TOTAL JOY. BRING BACK BANDITS B.B.B. EVERYBODY BRING BACK BANDITS, BANDITS ARE THE BEST, MOST FUN OUT THERE.
Is this a good first bike in Ireland? I am about to do my theory test in the next couple of weeks and then I will do the IBT and then I will be buying a bike. I want to get something that won't be too expensive on insurance. I am 26 if that makes any difference. Should I be looking at a smaller cc bike maybe? What do you think? How did you find insurance cost? Thanks.

No problem with the weight...is very well low-balanced. Can't go wrong with a Bandit. Never.

That's right about the Helmet, it's a matte black and red FG-ST :) and I have a Scorpion exhaust system on the bike, the mirrors are a set of Bikemaster Feathertubes.
