  • Adjusting your snowboard bindings to your boot size and riding style makes a big difference in performance once you get out on the slopes. In this video, we show you how to adjust the binding highbacks, straps and toe ramps. Shop REI’s selection of snowboard bindings at www.rei.com/c/s....
    Transcript:
    Once your bindings are mounted, the next step is to adjust the highbacks, the straps, and the toe ramps to fit your boots and your riding style. You may need Phillips head screwdrivers. The highback supports your calf for heel-side turns. You can adjust its angle to fit your riding style. Most bindings have either a quick release cam on the rear of the highback or a set of screws on the sides. Some may also have a microadjustment dial for an extremely precise fit. Little or no forward lean allows for lots of flexibility, and is ideal for tricks and park riding. Aggressive riders and racers prefer a more drastic lean to keep their knees bent, and for faster and more powerful turns. If you're unsure how much lean you want, it's best to simply line up the highback with the back of your boot. Whichever method your bindings use, start by loosening the highback. Then slide your boot in until the heal is all the way back. Now you can shift the highback's angle until it makes maximum contact with the rear of your boot. Make sure to lock the highback in place when you're done.
    Start by putting your boot into the binding and sliding it all the way back. Fold your straps over and check where they strike the boot. The goal when adjusting the straps is to make sure the pads sit over the center of your boot. Find the strap adjustment screw on the opposite side from the buckle and loosen it. Some bindings will require a screwdriver and others won't. Center the straps over your toe and the instep of your boot, and replace and tighten the adjustment screws. Make sure you don't move the straps so far over that there's not enough room to fully tighten them. If your boots are so small that you max out the straps, just move them back a notch.
    Many bindings have an adjustable toe ramp that increases your leverage for toe-side turns. For the most leverage, you want the toe ramp to line up with the rocker of your boot's outsole. To adjust the ramp, loosen the screw on the cushioning bed or pop the bed up from the binding. You may have to loosen the screws connecting the binding to the board to let the toe part of the bed slide forward and back. Put your boot into the binding and check the ramp angle. Move the bed until you don't see any gap between the binding and your boot, and tighten everything into place. To recap, set the forward lean on your highbacks. Adjust the straps so that the pads are centered over your boots. Line up the toe ramp with the sole of your boot.

      Loosen but dont remove the two screws on each side of the high back. That will allow you to rotate the high back

      1:21 I dont think those are K2's but I have K2 bindings why do they suck?

    • @baxterkavan8425
      @baxterkavan8425 Před 5 lety

      Oh yea they are. I’m not saying K2 as a company is bad. Just the boots. Also I’m a ski lift op so I use my gear way more than someone who rides only a few times a year. The k2s can’t take the abuse from riding every day. The leather rubbed off and my feet got wet.
