- Project HOME today announced the groundbreaking of its 21st and second affordable residence in Kensington to be held On Monday, November 15, 2021, Project HOME announced the groundbreaking of its 21st and second affordable residence in Kensington. The residence, located at 100 E. Lehigh Avenue provides 62 new homes to men and women. It offers safe, recovery-focused housing with street outreach and employment services designed to empower adults to break the cycle of chronic street homelessness, while addressing the impact of mental illness and substance use disorders.
Jon Bon Jovi, board chairman of the JBJ Soul Foundation, delivered remarks.
Kensington Long-Term Recovery residents are linked to medical and behavioral health services and substance use and recovery services, as needed. All residents are also eligible to receive employment and education services through Project HOME’s Adult Learning and Employment Department.
This is the ninth project of MPOWER, a unique partnership model drawing on a powerful network of people and ideas that multiplies Project HOME’s impact in five key areas: investments, relationships, resources, advocacy, and evidence.

I unfortunately stayed at Joseph's house in Camden due to circumstances during medical treatment @ Cooper. I thankfully was only there one week but also endured something very tragic as well. I was car jacked a block behind it. I had left the hospital and had to wait until 8om to get in and thus the incident occurred. Now I went through hell with the police well everything. I was later informed that some people staying there had something to do with this and I was not the first. This was June 2nd of last year. I got sick and this lead me from Texas back to the State I was born in. I lost everything and almost my life twice. One to health another to the incident that occurred. I do blame this house for what happened to me that night and I will continue to tell my story. See I'm not the woman that was on drugs etc... I got sick. No one ever plans this not even the people that live there. The doors should be open all the time. People are turned out to the streets of Camden which are extremely bad. I personally was only able to sleep a few hours before work because I had to leave when the employees do. I worked nights through all this. So now I ask whoever just has my bible my family pictures etc... My grandfather's book's that basically got the WW2 battleships out to give them back. They are by John Frederick Piper. My car was finally recovered back at the beginning of the year. It was said heroin pushers took my car . Yeah I'm lucky to be alive. The fact that this had happened before doesn't sit well either. This place still needs security, and they need to treat people with respect no matter what.
