Supposedly the big change - shared so far - is an updated Asobo engine…
Great discussion guys!
Big UP!! I was watching Jason Plays live stream of the event, because I also play NMS and I'm looking forward to Starfield, so I was only watching it for the expanded info on that. And they're showing all these games and its like whatever, some look pretty cool (but not really my thing).. and than all the sudden this MSFS2024 drops.. totally unexpected...and while the Starfield preview ended up looking really great.. I still had to pick my jaw up off the floor from the FS24 preview. I know a lot of people keep saying like 'hey its just like '98, 2k, 02, 04, FSX.. ect..ect..' But I'm like, exactly. Why do we want to go back 10-15 years ago and do things the old way. I feel like Asobo/MS, when they fired up MSFS again and brought us 2020 that they made a commitment to the flight sim community; to bring us a great flight sim, to listen to what we wanted, and to work with 3rd party developers. Now its way too soon to make any kind of judgements, but I also think its completely valid for the community to have serious concerns.
First one to like the VID!!! The only thing I'm excited about is the airline career, and the scientific research. I'm a tornado fanatic!
Interesting trailer ❤
The movement of the animated people looks a lot more realistic, which might be good for programs like GSX and airport developers and the water effects coming out of the crop duster and the fire fighting aircraft look very good including the shading effects, so maybe they have been working on particle effects. Maybe contrails, rain effects, jet wash etc. will look a lot better. Colors seem quite a bit improved as well.
Might as well have an actual copilot now
great post guys, i thought i would bring another thing up that no 1 has brought up, will they have a new Bing Map, or use the same 10 year old Bing map
As always we get answers to all of your questions with time and then we will always have late suprises as to what we get
we always go off months before the release and argue with a fraction of anything resembeling a fact.
we cannot arguing for any side the way we do now. we always end up with egg on our face
What I don't like is that it mixes your "games as a service" with "buy to play." The game costs money up front, but they try to make money off a marketplace. I'm not really excited about those two things existing together.
Hype hype
Guys, there is lightning. I saw some just the other day in the sim, and you could hear the thunder
Thanks for the conversation. I think they want to cater to the Xbox market more.
private/group multiplayer is available in 2020 via friend request.
don't forget the big beluga haha.
I have a hard time thinking Asobo was on board with the way this was announced, I think they much rather would have done it during the FS event in Houston next week and simultaneously give information.. they for sure would have expected the community to react like this, now they missed the opportunity to create a possitive vibe.
Jorg Neumann has some explaining to do!
Will multiplayer work between 20 and 24? Will there be anything you CAN do in 20 that you wont in 24?, Vatsim, VR? How much development efficiency will be lost supporting 2 platforms?
Who would've tought that a sequel to MSFS would cause such confusion.. lol. I wonder if it's the same in, say, the Gran Turismo community :) Flight Sims have always had updates. The clue was usually in the number followed by the name of the sim, EG XPlane 12. Now ofcourse MSFS didn't have a number, and the general consensus apparently was that the core was going to keep on being updated into infinity.
I guess Asobo figures that the upgrades are such that it warrants a new sim. It better be worth it, otherwise people are going to feel ripped off if they have to pay for it again.
Thats why gamepass exist free with gamepass subscription 🎉
Why not allow us to create virtual airlines on console? I'm not to thrilled of missions. Also as an airliner pilot. I would like to spawn into a gate without another plane being there or one spawning in on me. There should be a way that the gate comes unavailable if something is there. Get rid of the generic liveries.
Edit from past post for content: I am excited for the features and abilities of the new sim, but finding myself puzzled and curious as to the why and how of it. This isn't 1999 where major updates need new disc sets... It's a live service. So with 2020 still being strong with updates and promised content (world updates for one), the 2024 decision is confusing a lot of people. This timing was bad ....it should have been announced at Expo with answers to questions at the ready, especially when people feel blindsided. This isn't a sim that was done overnight... So maybe all these feedback sessions were meant to tell them what's possible now vs what's possible on a new platform. This may solidify the Covid release theory.
New Asobo game engine.
Well. I guess there's no reason for XP72 to think 2024 is confusing now lol
This is legit the one game I really dont know how to feel about lol...
The Beluga XL is derived from the A330 and not the A300 that iniBuilds has
Really? 🤔 hmmm
Careers?? They couldn't add that to the current version? Makes no sense to me...and only now are the good, refined payware aircraft coming out for MSFS. hmmm...
We going to the moon 2028
Lol 😂
We will have a weather radar, seasons, a lot of features we all wanted! I’m pumped for it
Hope we get these things day 1.
I’m less excited now I’ve watched this. If these new scenarios are single player only I won’t bother. And I regret buying the premium delux version rather than the basic as it is given the low functionality of the Microsoft planes. The third party ones feel so much better. So more money for more default planes is wasted money I could have spent on a functioning plane.
I’m guessing they were going to add seasons to MSFS 2020 but it would have broken the game so they made a new game
Still no efb from pmdg
Hopefully by the end of the decade 😂😊
@@pm110978 that’s cutting it close 😅😂
And no high quality wide-body either lol
@@martgatz75 exactly!
@@martgatz75aerosoft a330 pmdg 777 fbw 380? They should come soon
Kind of dissapointed to see every aviation job except a regular commercial pilot lol that's all I want to do
Just get GSX, for the passengers.
@@DeEchteZeus I have it. It’s not the same as a career mode as a commercial pilot though.
I'm a Xbox user and I'm not happy with this. The game sucks for us airline simmers now. So when these 3rd party developers release these new planes. Why would a console player buy them if a new sim is coming out? We can only assume that they would be compatible. Asobo hasn't said anything about it yet. I know I wouldn't buy it. I agree with you. I wouldn't keep 2020 if I get 2024. It already takes a lot of hard drive space.
If im a developer i am mad. Aerosoft hasn't even released the A330 yet and PMDG is working on the 777 and 747 and that probably wont be released until 2024 or 2025. So I'm interested to see how it will change everything for them.
ya, 777 then there 737max then the 747
PMDG said this does not put their development on hold and all their products are going to be compatible per the release of FS2024.
@@masflow09 if I was a developer. I would say the same thing. They want you to buy their product.
this might be a money grab. I have a strong feeling this is just the core with new missions.
