This has been so well done. The production, editing, the brilliant drone shots, but most staggering was the magnificence of the landscape. Words fail to communicate how the scenes reached out and touched me, moved me. I have said it before, but me Nan, and me Grannie would have cried and been proud. And I would not have understood a word that they were saying, but I have no doubt it would have been the best thanks of all. Tarah from the Great State of Texas.

And that's why my last two trips to Scotland I've done in a campervan Shaun. It means you have your bed with you so you don't have to push yourself to be at a certain destination by a certain time in order to check in. You can buy cheaper options at supermarket's for your meals, which means you can find a gorgeous spot to park and eat and sleep all in one each night. I did, and I can tell you I got to see some glorious sunsets this way. So maybe your next driving/touring trip you can try it in a campervan and compare the two styles. I hired campers that didn't come with a bathroom but a port-a-loo saved that hassle and for showers I visited either hostels or the town swimming pool.

Beautifully shot panoramas and drone video. Excellent job, sir.
BTW you won't like going to the Grand Canyon in the US if you have a fear of heights. My wife and I went five years ago while we were in Las Vegas; it's close, so why not? Incredible place. We were at the west rim on the Hualapai Indian reservation, which includes a place called Eagle Point (apparently some people have been falling off the edge lately, so they got too close) and it's a straight shot down about 500-600 feet before you start hitting the slope down at this point. They also saw fit to put something there called the Skywalk, which is a U-shaped bridge over the gorge with a clear acrylic floor; you can see through where you're walking. You would likely forego this if you don't like being able to see through that upon which you trod, but my wife and I had no problem at all. There were several others who shared your distrust of what the couldn't see, as they were inching along with their toes on the steel supports, shuffling along like it was a rope bridge. Hilarious. There's a section toward the end that's frosted so it looks fairly solid, and they were walking on it with no problems lol....oh, well.
I'm thoroughly impressed with this series. Nicely done, sir. Those spineys look really tasty.
    Keep up the good work.

I would have NOT gone on that bridge over the gorge. Call me a tampon, but a six person weight limit??. What if one person was a giant fat Bastid of 25 stones. The Same thing for the look out. Highland Coos were gorgeous and so relaxed. If I lived in Scotland in the barrens areas, I would love to spend my time starting tree seedlings and planting them in those areas. Oak, birch, elm, walnut, apples, oranges, Nordic Pine, and Pines. Admit it.. You really wanted to do a Tokyo Drift on that downhill road. Too bad you couldn’t do mor time on the road and give more reviews of stops along the way. Thank You for Sharing Shaun. Cheers.

This reminds me of some of the areas I've been to in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, namely the state of Washington.
When I was in the Army, I was in Scotland for one cold night at an airfield waiting to catch the next flight to Kuwait. So that is my only experience in Scotland. But from what I've heard from other people who live there or have visited, and from what I've seen in movies and vlogs, Washington seems to be a lot like Scotland in regards to terrain and climate. on the west side of the state, the weather is beautiful in the summer and nonstop cold rain in the winter. The difference on the east side is, instead of rain, there's snow. I hope to take a real trip to Scotland one of these days, Edinburgh. will definitely be one of the stops among many others.

Love the scenery....I don't often comment but I watch every video. Scotland is an amazing country and would love to visit sometime. My ancestors immigrated from Deeside/Aberdeenshire (Highlands area) to New Jersey here in the U.S. in the 1800s. From New Jersey they traveled to Ohio and put down their roots as pioneers with 13 children. My family has preserved their history via genealogy. There is a piece of Scotland in Central Ohio. Also, something that may be of interest on another trip to the U.S. is visiting the Amish and Mennonite communities. Most people find it really interesting that Amish people travel by horse and buggy in this modern age we live in. Lancaster, Pennsylvania is another good stop for more history on the Amish and Mennonites who migrated to the U.S. from Germany and Switzerland. Shaun....would love to have you visit my state of Ohio!

My folks stay at Ardnamurchan and I spend a lot of time there, and I must say that whole area and to Fort William, I disagree. Good food is overpriced, while cheaper places just serve bad food. And in this video in particular, I spoke to the locals. Scourie is a particularly small community and there are literally 3 or 4 options. I stand by my observations. The places that make an effort can charge what they want, while the others can get away with serving microwaved food, because there are so few options

Amelia Walker, I'm a big fan of Shaun as well, and no offense intended, and I doubt you meant it this way, but you never actually said that you bought the car, which, you being from Colorado, I'm sure you did, but I being from NY, had a great idea.
I don't actually need to buy the Prius, I just need to buy the gear and wear a bit of it always, to be the coolest cat in town, other than for the people who know me. They will know that the Prius E-Pass sticker (of course, officially you can't buy that sticker, but not that I can't), right under the 'Civic' embossment on the rear of my 94 Honda, would be totally bogus, but not everyone would know that.
That is one of the pleasures of living in such dim light after all.
Again, not picking on you Amelia, it was just a simple omission on your part, as if you even agree with me on that. I personally mess up more by 9 o'clock in the morning, than most people mess up all day. Then again, I might take more risks than most, such as trying to get my foot out of my mouth, as in this case.
Meaning, no bad implications, I just found what you said to be inspiring.
I was just thinking of me, in Manhattan, in some cool bar, with hot women all over and me, being splayed out in some discreet bit of Prius gear, as it is a sure bet.
But that the bulls eye can dance around a bit. First, I'm closer to 70 than I am to 30 years of age, so that needs to be considered. I just did the math, imagine this. I am actually closer to 101 years old, than I am to 30. Yes, I'm 66 years old, and damn proud of it (or just lucky, actually).
So, I've been in a committed (or is that 'omitted') relationship for the last 25 years, and yes, to the same woman, but I forget which one of us was committed and which one was omitted, so I suppose it must be I, either way, take your pick, as apparently she does, as convenient.
That's what I tell her everyday, so I don't know what to refer to her as if she may be my 'might as well be married wife', or is she my 'common-outlaw-wife'?
Butter my buns and call me a biscuit, I don't know. Sorry to bother you. I just liked the idea of buying the gear, and not necessarily the car.

That's interesting about the food being bad, I can see that in the smaller towns in the Highlands but having lived in Glasgow for nearly a year I've not had any bad food experiences. And I'm a student so I'm not exactly rolling in money!

Beautiful! If I ever get to Scotland, I will bring a case of peanut butter and crackers so I don't have to eat spinies and chicken burgers. 😀 Thank you for the map so we can follow along.

I was stationed in Southern California and the Family home is in the SF bay area. I would drive the 500 miles home and the 500 miles back every long week end. It took 13 hours or so each way.

Loved every bit. Have to remind myself that this entire piece - and all your videos...are one-man-productions. (Or, should I say, husband/wife-team creations??) Either way, the production quality is remarkable. As engaging as any documentary style film anywhere. Beautiful footage.

Excellent road trip guys 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️. High 5. I don't do heights either, however, I went to Vegas last year, and forced myself to do the skywalk at the Grand Canyon 🙀. Was so glad I did it though 💝

Great series, Shaun! Thank you for taking me along for the ride. Scotland has so many beautiful places to see and I won't be able to see everything in my upcoming trip in August. So these videos allow me to lengthen my trip in a way. Keep up the great job and see you soon!

Great video, it would be nice to see fast food places take root up in the highlands. Drive thru fast food, on a budget. We have a similar treat, to Tablet called fudge which we sell in shops, in Michigan. Tourist who visit the Upper Peninsula, in Michigan are given a nickname by the Uppers, in the U.P. The uppers call tourists who visit the U.P., fudgies. Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula, is separated by a bridge; Michiganders who live below the bridge are called trolls and those who live above the bridge are called uppers.

Sorry I died at your bridge walking. 🤣🤣🤣We have suspension bridges here in America (probably brought from Scotland. Lol). Theres one in the state of North Carolina that I was terrified of when I was wee. My dad had to carry me across it. I'm going back there for the first time in many years and walk that bridge myself. Lol. I love the suspension bridges now but still canny climb trees and get back doon 😊🤣

I'm going to share this with my daughters and mother. Them I'm going to watch all four videos back to back on my big screen! Thank you for the wonderful vacation! So happy that you and Teka got to enjoy this time together! Perhaps your family could adopt me, and I could live the rest of my years in the Highland cottage! (Just a thought... I saw your map and it had some very familiar town names (I grew up in Seattle WA and have been to Aberdeen WA often). I knew of two others with the same name and wondered if they were connected to Scotland in any way and here is what I found:
    .
**Aberdeen, Washington - founded by Samuel Benn in 1884 was named after a local salmon cannery to reflect its Scottish fishing port namesake Aberdeen, Scotland.
**Aberdeen, South Dakota - est.1881 Alexander Mitchell who was responsible for the choice of town names, was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, after which the town of Aberdeen, South Dakota, was named.
**Aberdeen, Maryland - est.1720 named around 1800 by Edmund Law Rogers, cousin to the Earl of Aberdeen (who became Prime Minister of Great Britain in 1852).
    .
**I thought this would interest you. You can Google more info on these cities if you wish. It seems the Scottish pioneers carried some of Scotland with them by naming geographical locations and sites. Washington State did not exist until 5 yrs after Aberdeen WA was established. It was still a part of the Oregon Territory.
    .
**Dundee, Michigan 1823 - Persuaded by a native of Scotland, village was named "Dundee".
**Dundee, New York 1834- Name was taken from Dundee, the city in Scotland.
    **Dundee, Iowa.
    **East Dundee, Illinois.
    **West Dundee, Illinois.
    **Dundee, Oregon.
    .
The name Dundee to have been applied to many roads and counties too. I think you could Google any name of a loved place in Scotland and put USA on the end and will surely find the paths you countrymen took in their journey across the North American wilderness.
++)My own Scottish ancestors took the route of immigration to: Pennsylvania-->bought land in North Carolina-->settled in southern parts of Indiana-->Oklahoma Territory-->Washington State (abt 10yrs after it made statehood.) That is a pretty standard pioneer route as trails were established thru the wilderness.
