    I totally agree with the sharing items that represent your personal brand. I do the same thing. I also find it more enjoyable to share items that represent what I would wear so it doesn’t feel like a chore. ❤️

    This is exactly what I was looking for! All the videos I've seen (and I've seen tons) focus more on what brands you should sell ( which is helpful) but they never talk about a strategy or personal brand. They speak as if Lulu Lemon and Torid (for example) are the ONLY brands that will ever sell. I personally can't sell anthing that I think is ugly or wouldn't wear myself. This video reiterates that. You just took a huge burden off my shoulders.I wish the best for you and your business. Thank you, so much!
    ❤👏🏾💯

      Brooklynite C totally agree with you! I’m totally new to Poshmark and I’ve only been selling my own stuff and my mom’s stuff to get a feeling for how it works before I venture out and thrift. But all of these videos out here make me overwhelmed in terms of what I should and shouldn’t be picking up. Now I feel like Its okay to just thrift with the mindset of only picking things I would wear and think is cute.

    Could you do a video on "old vs new Talbots and Loft"? I am trying to figure out what labels to pick up and I can't seem to identify the labels as older labels vs newer labels. Thanks so much!!

    This was so helpful! I try to keep my closet very curated and I am so glad that you agree. I feel like I am constantly skipping over brands other people are picking up, but they just don’t match my closet. Thanks again for this fabulous video! -StyleByValerie

    Thanks so much! This is super helpful! I have been kind of feeling that something was a little off with my closet and you just gave me the answer. I definitely notice that people will come to my closet, put one item in a bundle, then never buy! It's probably because they don't find more than one item of the same size and style in my closet. So now I know what I need to work on. Thank you! 😁👍👌💕

    Love this advice! I’ve been trying to curate my closet to be something I’m known for down the road versus picking up anything that I think will sell.

  • @rebekahhubstenberger8815

    In the beginning I only chose items I believed in, in terms of brand, quality and style but at my volume it just wasn’t enough for success so I have branched out into items I wouldn’t wear but could see the appeal. I usually list those items on another platform but I have cross listed some to Posh if they haven’t moved on that other platform, this has made me reconsider that however. I’ve considered opening a separate closet but I don’t have enough listings that I believe qualify to establish another “brand identity”. I don’t carry men’s clothing really but have been successful when I have, I believe because the men’s brands and styles I select align with my “curation” identity

  • @TheNewMomClarissa
    @TheNewMomClarissa Před 6 lety

    I’m definitely more of a hobby lister!! I list everything and anything and I share whatever too! But I think having a brand is great for full timers. I tend to use the search bar for just about everything I purchase but when I click on an item I’ll usually scroll through their closet and if they have more things similar and a bundle discount I do that!

  • @allthingsdelightful8565

    I agree with some of your points. As for me I only sell items that are an extension of my personal style. If I find things that are my style but not my size up in the closet it goes to be a blessing to someone else.

    • @heavenleighdollanger
      @heavenleighdollanger Před 6 lety

      Laurie Morales hi!!! Well it depends on how much they are getting that nwt item.... I have a moto if I get a good deal I give a good deal.... I also dont buy anything say at nordstrom racks for less then 75% of or higher... I price those items high at first then drop them as weeks go on to get rid of it.... i also thrift and find nwt items for a few bucks.... so bc I got a good deal I price them lower.... hope this helps! It's all about getting your items for the cheapest way possible

    As a part time seller I still think having a brand/theme is important. I don’t list anything I don’t like and wouldn’t wear. I totally agree I don’t like going through a crazy closet that is all over the place.

    This is such great advice! I personally like following closets that have a clearer sense of style/customer as well as high quality images. I'm working on making my closet more of a serious business and have been wondering if creating a reseller instagram would be beneficial. I'm just afraid I just don't have the time to keep up with another instagram account (I already have an Etsy shop where I sell my jewelry), so I'm not sure if it's a good idea for me to start one, especially since I'm one of those creative types who really struggles with marketing myself effectively, lol

    Hi Is it typical for all shipping labels that are sent after a sale to have the same date of when a buyer buys the item? I'm running into issues with our local P.O. starting to refuse to take my packages and scan and send out because if an item sells and the shipping label has say for example sundays date of 8-05-18 they are telling me at the post office the label date has to be the same date I'm bringing in package to ship off. I have dealt with being harassed now the last 2 times I've gone to the P.O. due to shipping label dates being generated the same day of buyers purchase and I'm bringing in the next day a typical business day. Clerk flat out refused to scan my 5 packages today and kept me in limbo for over 20 minutes while her superior was waiting on a email from somebody to only be told they have to take them no matter what the date is on the shipping labels.

    Thanks for sharing! How long did it take for you to refine your brand? I’m a beginner, and I’m still selling a lot from my own closet (and my teen daughter’s). I’m becoming more picky as I begin sourcing, and focusing on higher priced items. Did you have a brand in mind from the start?

    Hi Alexandra. I started in earnest on Poshmark about 9 months ago. I started with getting rid of my own items which of course I know are 100% authentic. I Google RN numbers and style numbers all of the time and nothing comes up. What am I doing wrong? Do I google the number by itself or put the retailers name in front of it? I’m having some issues with this. Thanks

    Great video. I've only been reselling on Poshmark for a few months but I already want to cull some of my listings that don't fit my brand and style. I usually buy what I would wear now. I'm a color girl and like dresses and unique things. I'm learning so much from videos like yours and Jena on Empty Hanger. I'm alot older than both of you but I still love fashion and this is my second career :) Thanks for the great videos! Becky@becky_morton.

      I originally started with just my name as my official @ closet name but when I decided to get more serious it was important to me to have a name that was memorable, I chose lavidalocatx. I can’t say it’s increased selling in any way because I made a lot of changes simultaneously but I think it goes well to establishing a brand
