The track order on this album is so perfect. But the pacing through Labyrinthine to Immolation of Night is SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY.

i remember back when Heavener came out i listened to it while driving to work and on every song i was like "no way" and "how????? HOW THEY DO THAT?!". Albums so diverse but just magically put together to be so coherent and pure goodness. I was completely done after i got through the whole album as its just a wild ride.

I appreaciate the False Meridian part the most. For me it is the best song metalcore has ever heard. This album became instant classic the day it came out. Every single song is 9/10 atleast, the emotions, the sound, the intensity of everything. I just can't get over the album. I always come back to it after few months of not listening and just keep repeating the album daily.
Album of the year two years in a row
This is still my all time favorite Metalcore album. It has it all. Nasty riffs, mindbending atmospheric breakdowns, an insanely underrated slow song, and ofcourse the vocals. This has so much heart ❤
For some reason I put off IA for a while, but finally peeped your reactions when everyone was dropping their AOTY’s last year and dude I hate that I waited so long. Thank you for pulling me on this train with you, my man. IA is easily the most underrated and dominant band in the scene. I was dying to see your reaction to HWUTSG, knew you’d love it.
Fun fact: there's an evercharger easter egg in this album. The ending breakdown of labyrinthine is the exact same breakdown they did on Courier. Skeletor will return next week with more pleasant facts😁

You cant fathom how much a appreciate that on streaming (spotify specifically) invent animate changed the cover arts ONLY to the three new tracks to the Definitive cover art and left the rest of Heavener with the original album cover, my favorite album art ever.

Top 3 of best albums I have ever heard.
I am going to watch them live again this year with Northlane after last years headlining tour of theirs. Marcus is sooooo amazing last time and he has definitely got even better somehow. Can't wait!!!

I finally get to see them live (for the first time) in Australia in melbourne in august with alpha wolf, the devil wears prada and thrown, i cannot fucking wait! they have been my favorite band since 2016!!
I had a headache the next day after the ERRA Toronto show, but it was worth it.

Think this year might stack up as a very strong year, slightly behind 2023 tbh: KL, Boundaries, BMTH, MTS, Filth, and some I can't think of currently.
Once we get new Loathe album - it's over, but those lazy asses seem to keep it from us...

Okay so, when this album came out last year, I felt it was super overrated. I went to their show in Warsaw (bc Silent Planet were there too), decided it's really good but not my taste.
Somehow, now that they added these three songs, it feels so much more like a complete product, that I do unironically think though Heavener wasn't even in my top 5 last year, the Definitive version might be my fav this year so far.
Man i wish you would revisit The Death We Seek as well. These 2 albums and these 2 bands will for ever be a part of my life

Ofc it wasn't, definitely Sleep Token "won" not because the biggest part of their audience are strangers from mainstream, knowing their sound and "mysterious style" i'm not even surprised that they were able to gain some part of mainstream audience, also they're not metalcore despite they're metalcore influenced.
While Heavener requires some true metalcore fanbase which is actually very passionate and most of these people care about the genre, not Currents but Invent Animate, because The Death We Seek was simply a classic mix of Prog Metalcore with some Deathcore elements without anything as special, but it also was badly mixed. I'm ok if your AOTYs were Moments Elsewhere or Superbloom or Ashen.
But Heavener is a Singularity/I Let It In And It Took Everything level material.

Going to be honest, not crazy about this re-release. The album feels a bit bloated with the extra tracks, and the new art is super forgettable. Also, wish they'd stripped down a different, heavier track instead of making one of the mellower songs even more mellow. Not mad about more IA though.
Absence Persistent reimagined would've gone unbelievably hard
This band, ERRA, Wage War, etc. My God the most generic sounding shit out there, absolutely nothing distinct about anything these guys do, so boring
