Mark's sound is one of the reasons I bought a Gretsch after 30 years of paying dues on a 30 year old entry level set. It is a 2013 USA Custom in bop sizes. It belonged to Freda Love who played with Juliana Hatfield in the 1990s. No regrets at all. I can barely look at it some weeks because it is such an amazing instrument. But I hall it out every week to play with the same amateur crew I've played with for 15 years. This thing feels like a collectors item. Like future antique furniture or sculpture, even if you don't play. It's art.

They are the best set of drums I have ever owned without question and sound great with what I do. I hope you get to own your own Broadkaster real soon and enjoy them for years to come as every drummer deserves to own the kit of their dreams.
With this though, if you plan on ordering your custom Broadkaster soon, expect a long wait as they are backed up on custom orders due to COVID. I have a couple of additional Broadkaster drums that I ordered back in October and they will not be here until January if not later.

DW 6000 is very similar to the original Camco 5000 that DW started to make. I haven't tried one but the 5000's I've tried have been lovely, I think I prefer the larger footprint of the floor plate but they're similar cam wise. Yamaha are great for simple pedals that just work out of the box. Their hardware is very well made.

Johnny Merritt true. It’s definitely great for the right player, right gig, room ect. Not a bass drum for every gig just perfect for what he plays 👍
