  • Shotgun Messiah - Living Without You official video in excellent quality with Tim Sköld (Marylin Manson) on vocals.
Shotgun Messiah released "Second Coming" in 1991, which was enthusiastically received by the media, and was their most successful album to date. Two singles were released from that album, "Heartbreak Blvd." and "Living Without You". At this time, Tim Tim, whose role was now frontman, went by the name Tim Skold (Marylin Manson).
    Lyrics
I walk the streets alone at night
A shadow in the city light
I didn't know that love could hurt
How little broken hearts are worth
All that we had, gone forever
Things that we said, it will never be
Living without you, don't bother me
If there's a tear in my eye
    It's not for you
    Don't flatter yourself
If there's a tear in my eye
    It's not for you
We crossed our hearts and hoped to die
We swore that we would never lie
But love just slipped away somehow
    Baby, it's all over now
All that we had, gone forever
Things that we said, it will never be
Living without you, don't bother me
If there's a tear in my eye
    It's not for you
    Don't flatter yourself
If there's a tear in my eye
    It's not for you
    You seemed so innocent
    You had me blinded
What good is all your beauty
    There's nothing behind it
If there's a tear in my eye
    It's not for you
    Don't flatter yourself
If there's a tear in my eye
    It's not for you
Lock the door and cut the lights
I won't be coming home tonight

April 20, 1992. Shotgun Messiah plays The Back Room in Austin, Texas. Me and a friend go and are right up against the stage. Great show. The only moment I didn't personally dig was when the lead singer Tim Tim pulled down his pants. Yep. Hard to miss it when you're about 2-1/2 feet away. But other than that, a great show. 😆

No disrespect to the previous lead singer, having owned both albums though I personally think Tim Skold was the better vocalist. He did a phenomenal job on this album and really stepped up. Second Coming was an awesome album!

This brings back great memories of when I was stationed in 29 Palms, California with the Marine Corps. I bought this CD at the PX and still have it since 1991. I bought their first tape when I was in Yongsan, South Korea in 1989. I'm afraid that that tape has disappeared.

Glam/hair bands were the worst corporate "metal". Formulaic dime a dozen. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots revitalized rock from the cheeze that was bands like this they used every cliche in the handbook
