- This is the final passage of our Epic Fall Adventure. AVALON CATALINA ISLAND to SAN PEDRO.
We set out to put at least 200 nm under the keel with a plan to go North to the Channel Islands. The weather didn't work out for going North so we went South to San Diego. back to Catalina then home.
I'm a bit too tired to write a good description right now so I'll come back to it. :)
In the meantime check out the other episodes...

I love that kind of sail, fresh wind and speed. Once the sails are dialed in, the boat sails itself, very invigorating. Your right Andy, going down below can make you queasy. That happened to me going from Santa Barbara to San Francisco, beating to windward, felt like a bucking bronco passing Point Sur.
Yeah it’s great. I’ve thinking about Point Sur / Point Conception for a while. I want to get to SF eventually. That’s pretty cool that you have done it. 🤙🏼
That was awesome. Great to watch raw video showing what it takes to sail her. Beautiful footage.
Thanks Jen. Keeldragger is an awesome boat and those dudes (Mark and David) are great crew.
Great stuff, as always Andy! Enjoyed being a virtual stowaway …
Right on bro. Trying to bring y’all along with us.
Love your videos, it's great to watch what it's like on board when things get busy.
I wish we had these conditions more often. Always good to hang with a solid crew. I love how you captured that passage on video. Great footage!
Thanks bro. There’s no way I could give the info and insight that you give on your videos so I’m trying to make it entertaining. Thanks for letting me tag along!
To go to Santa Cruz, etc., we would go to Catalina, usually Emerald Cove, and then go to Santa Barbara Island. Overnight there, then to Santa Cruz. Be sure to visit the painted cave. There is a cove close to the painted cave where you put your stern hook on the beach, and 3 boats can anchor. You can continue to San Miguel and Santa Rosa. On the way home, we would stop in Santa Barbara. One time we rented a car and went to Solvang for breakfast.
That’s a solid plan and sounds fun. We’ll make our way there sooner than later. 🤙🏼
A "Sporty" Sail... the man says... 🔔 yeEeAaAgGgHhH Boooyyy...!!! 🔔
No better way to test the limits of your vessel... than to test the limits of one's self...
Yeah boooiiii! The vessels can always handle more than their skippers! 😜
Awesome 🎸
Yeah boy! 🤙🏼
It looks as if sailing isn’t a solo task.
I single-hand Keeldragger more often than I have crew. It is definitely more work, but it is manageable.
I was gonna say, it’s easier with crew but it can be done single-handed. Especially when the running rigging is led back to the cockpit.
Sporty sailing. Curious what kind of man overboard retrieval system is onboard. That bigger guy falls over, it would be impossible to get him back aboard in those seas.
First off, nobody is falling overboard. It’s an “accident”, I know, so we should plan for it in the unlikely event.
Keeldragger has a deployable ladder on the side. So it would be a matter of getting the MOB next to the boat. From there we could get anyone back on board with the ladder.
Lean like a cholo. Like a 64 Impala on hydros.
Hahaha I haven’t heard that one but I know what you mean! Low--ri--der!!!! 🤙🏼
Andy, do recommend your foul foul-weather jacket you were wearing in this adventure?
All of my foulies are West Marine brand except my boots. I bought it because it appears to be good quality and was less expensive than some high-end brand names. I like my gear and would recommend it.

@@sailingsole Thanks for the replies! I saw the jacket on sale during "Black Friday" and it looked good to me and was way more affordable, but there were reviews that concerned me and I didn't buy it. I saw yours and thought maybe it was the same one. I will go with your recommendation and wait until it goes on sale again and get one. I plan to sail this winter a bunch and was anticipating getting wet! I sail out of San Diego now. Great video as always, thanks for sharing your adventures!
"Peedro" not "Paidrow"
Lol I beg to differ!!! 🤠
We will see how long you go before you submit to local pressure! Don't even think of saying "Kabrio Beach", it's "Kabrillo Beach" ! 🙂 (Cabrillo Beach)
@@benkanobe7500 HAHAHA "Playa Ka-Breee-Oooo"!!!!
