- Halo teman-teman, kembali disini saya akan membandingkan 2 alat musik saya yang 1 merk tapi beda tipe yaitu keyboard Yamaha MODX dan CK61. Seperti yang sama-sama kita ketahui, keduanya terdapat selisih harga yang lumayan, juga sudah ada tipe MODX yang lebih terbarukan yaitu MODX+. Tapi berhubung saya hanya punya yang MODX jadi itu aja lah yang kita bandingkan ya hehehe..
Secara panel interface keduanya sudah berbeda, MODX menggunakan layar lebar & touchscreen sementara CK61 menggunakan knob & panel simple ala Nord/Roland XPS, juga MODX masih bisa di expansi dengan sound hasil download dari website Yamaha maupun pihak ke-3 sedangkan CK61 tidak bisa, mungkin bisa download sound yang sudah diedit sedemikian rupa tapi basic sample & waveform nya ya yang sudah terdapat dalam keyboard nya aja.
Langsung pada kesimpulan aja, untuk kualitas suara buat saya masih unggul MODX, menunya juga lebih lengkap karena mengadopsi dari Montage, jumlah & variasi sound secara keseluruhan lebih banyak, tapi.. CK61 luar biasa melimpah fiturnya, bahkan ada built in speaker & bluetooth yang sangat berguna buat kita kalo mau ngulik lagu mungkin, gak perlu siapkan earphone seperti synthesizer lainnya. Jumlah sound walau sedikit tapi berkualitas, pasti banyak kepake untuk berbagai genre musik, cara simpan user bank juga sangat mudah ala Yamaha PSR, ada slider yang bisa atur volume 3 sound secara cepat & praktis.
Jadi kembali ke kebutuhan kita masing-masing, kalo butuh yang mudah digunakan & fitur melimpah pilih CK61, tapi kalo butuh fitur lebih & suka ngulik tapi pengen bobot tetap ringan ya pilih MODX. Yah lebih baik lagi beli dua-duanya sih hahaha

Hello friends, here once again I will compare my two musical instruments which are of the same brand but different types, namely the Yamaha MODX and CK61 keyboards. As we all know, there is a significant price difference between the two, and there is also a more renewable type of MODX, namely MODX+. But since I only have the MODX one, that's all we're gonna compare, hehehe..
In terms of interface panels, the two are different, MODX uses a wide screen & touchscreen while CK61 uses Nord/Roland XPS series. Yes, you can download sounds that have been edited in such a way, but the basic samples & waveforms are already included in the keyboard.
Let's just jump to the conclusion, the sound quality for me is still superior to MODX, the menu is also more complete because it is adopted from Montage, the overall number & variety of sounds is greater, but... the CK61 is extraordinarily abundant in features, there is even a very built in speaker & bluetooth It's very useful for us if we want to practice a song, maybe we don't need to prepare earphones like other synthesizers. Even though the number of sounds is small, they are of high quality, they will definitely be used by many for various music genres, the way to save user bank is also very easy as in Yamaha PSR style, there is sliders that can adjust the volume of 3 sounds quickly & practically.
So back to our individual needs, if you need something that is easy to use & has lots of features, choose CK61, but if you need more features & like to explore but want the weight to remain light, then choose MODX. In the end it's better to have both you know 😁

There are studio speakers showing behind you in this video. But I do understand that you may not need speakers when you’re recording videos. The sound quality comes through great! I’m considering buying Roland speaker amp for my modx8 because all I have not is a set of powered 10” JBLs playing through my Tascam 24 recording mixer. Trying to increase the sound quality of my keyboard for my personal listening pleasure.
Yes the studio speakers are M-audio BX8s, they're used to when I'm doing some recordings,but when I record such videos I prefer record it direct through an audio interface (in this case a Roland Go Mixer Pro X) to capture the pure sound of the keyboards without the speaker coloration 😊 I also have Roland amps, they're great for live use but for listening experience I still prefer stereo speakers than a single amp, I have no experience in using 2 amps as a stereo though
It can be said that modx is completely superior in both sound quality and performance, and it also supports voice extension。
Yes, I'm agree. But the CK61 with its rich features is really worth to buy
Nice playing! The modx seems to have a bit more detail, but the ck is no slouch. For the ease of user interface, the ck is good. I think with some EQ editing, you could readily make the ck very close tothe modx. It generally needs a little high mids.
Thank you! 😊 Yes the CK is ok until I compared it to my MODX, there's definitely lack of details also the quantity of sounds are quite much smaller, but the quality of sounds itself is pretty good in playing live gigs 👍
They both sound great to me. One maybe a lil more defined sound? But can you tell me what speakers you are playing through? Sounds really good!
Yes, I think MODX still wins in detail & dynamic. I don't use speakers, just record both keyboards through Roland Go Mixer Pro X, without further processing or mixing.

Hehehe.. diusahakan ya 😁 kalo sama Roland Go Keys sepertinya beda kelas,walaupun sama-sama ada Bluetooth hehehe.. CK61 menurut saya kelasnya Roland Juno DS/XPS30 atau Korg Kross 2,sebenarnya penasaran juga bandingin sama Roland Go Keys,nanti coba dibeli kalo ada rejeki atau pinjam punya teman deh 👍

@@BandoroPM iya unik sih memang..mungkin ikutin trend seperti Roland RD88/RD08 stage piano yang built-in speaker,atau untuk kelas synthesizer nya mencoba ikutin trend Casio CTS500/CTS1000,buat kita pemakai sih diuntungkan juga ada speaker gak harus selalu gunakan earphone untuk mainin keyboardnya kan 😄 Go Keys 5 keliatannya menggiurkan cuma kayaknya harganya akan terdongkrak naik,yang Go Keys 3 aja dari 6jtan tiba-tiba kok naik hampir 8jt,padahal Go Keys 3 koneksi di panel belakang keyboardnya minim banget bahkan audio in 3,5mm juga gak ada (lumayan buat ngulik lagu,walaupun bisa via bluetooth juga)

@@BandoroPM Roland go keys 5 lumayan ngiler sih kalo dibanding sama CK61. Jujur fitur suara lebih banyak go keys 5. Tapi kalo feel professionalnya lebih dapet ke CK61. Btw ane punyanya CK88.
CK itu stage keyboard lebih optimal buat panggung. Kalo Go Keys itu optimalnya buat home studio beginner.
Tapi yg bikin saya suka CK itu, faders sama knobs nya banyak. Kalo dipanggung buat check sound lebih cepet pake ini. Dan kalo pindah sounds gak ada putus atau cut off.
I'm sure the CK61 offers several very good pianos or organs.
The reason to buy the MODX is for all the other kinds of sounds you can get out of it too like the synth sounds. Also, you can get a wide variety of additional piano sound libraries that can be download for the MODX if the included ones aren't what you are looking for.
Yes, from the point of view of MODX's user I found the variety & quantity of CK61's sounds kind of limited. Me at the first place hoping that CK61 as a cheaper version of MODX just like my XPS30 compared to FA series, the XPS30 still has more of a thousand sounds while CK61 only has around 400. That's what I thought of disappointment when I browsed the sound one by one, but then I thought to myself the quantity maybe small in amount but the quality is actually quite good, so many sounds that is in the CK61 is very usable in many styles of music. Also the feature is very rich that it's so worth it to buy 👍
@@ochisalat The MODX over all is much more powerful in both features and sound variety.
The CK61 does have a few advantages though....It is less expensive. Generally $1000 vs $1500, although the MODX6+ is on sale at many places currently for $1350.
The CK61 offers 9 sliders that have been setup to use as organ drawbars. There are some real-time drawbar options for the MODX, but they work via the Superknob so it's a bit different.
The CK61 offers battery options.
The CK61 is even lighter than the already light MODX6.
For those mostly using organs & pianos, the CK61 would probably be fine. But as a synthesizer it would be much more limiting. The CK61 would likely be a little better as an organ too unless it had really unusual characteristics.
It's good for you to choose MODX. I chose CK88 for the instant play everywhere cuz of the speakers & battery. I've been weighing towards many workstations like MX88,🎉 MODX8, Juno DS, Kross2 to buy
But when the CK launched and have speaker on it then i realized that most workstation in my wishlist doesn't have a speaker and need a hustle to set it up just to play. So CK88 is a buy for me. For the sound variety I rely on playing VST with my PC since CK series is a powerful midi controller even all knobs faders and buttons can send midi to control VSTs with ease.
@@classicarcadeamusementpark4242 I don't think MODX is even stronger in terms of sound, I sold it after 1 month (MODX7+), despite the more sounds, most of them are not a plus. CK's well-selected sounds sound good live, they can be easily layered live, which you can easily modify live, live effects are also very important, you can create a really thick sound in a few seconds while playing, which does not work live in MODX, only saved in advance in the menu, but it doesn't sound right everywhere. The CK is a real Stage instrument, and you can even layer the synth sounds to create thick, very good sounds. It's easy and much cheaper.

It's not just about the sounds that are built-in, it's about all the tons of sound collections you can load from Yamaha's flagship Montage, the entire MOTIF series that has dominated live music for a long time, and the DX-7 series of sounds that can be loaded right in. The CK61 isn't even close. Sure it will do some nice sounds, and for organs or pianos I'm sure it would be fine for most people, but when you need a special synth sound or decent large sampled multi-instruments, it's not even close. I've explored sounds for it since it came out. The first hardware synth to really excite me since the Korg M1. I've run mostly software for the past 25 years, but have used a lot of MODX sounds too since it came out. The MODX is very powerful, very light weight, and very reasonably priced for all that it does. Not everyone needs the sound variety that I do and a few basic sounds will do what they want, but I make great use of the large palette of sound capabilities the MODX can make. If all you need are a few stage instrument sounds, that's fine. But don't think that it comes close to all that the MODX offers. Might be some better organ sounds on the CK61 though, and 9 sliders to use as drawbars. The MODX does offer the paid Organimation sound library ($50) which comes the closest to a dedicated organ synth I've heard out of a synth without a dedicated organ engine. Also offers a unique way of real-time drawbars using the Superknob. Another feature that is powerful most other keyboards don't have.
I use my MODX ONLY live.
What the CK61 does offer is some stage instruments sounds at a low price, in the most portable keyboard around. Battery operation even. Plus 9 sliders with to control drawbars. But it's sonic abilities are limited next to any current flagship synthesizer technology.

Siaap.. makanya ada yang bilang harusnya dikomparasi dengan harga setara,ini bukan soal itu,siapa tau ada rekan-rekan yang butuh informasi mau beli keyboard apa,mungkin aja sebenarnya dana cukup untuk beli MODX tapi kalo bisa beli CK yang lebih murah & kelebihan dana bisa dipakai beli alat musik lain kenapa ngga kan 😊👍

Pake Yamaha FC4,pernah coba yang merk Russel,Taff,dll tapi lama-lama gak compatible,kayaknya Yamaha lebih pilih-pilih untuk pedal sustain harus buatan Yamaha juga,beda dengan Roland&Korg

Masih mahal,malah naik dari harga yang dulu.. hahaha apalagi yang seri MODX+ harganya udah lebih gak kekejar lagi 😅 kalo kualitas suara piano masih menang MODX dari CK, tapi kalo butuh sound Yamaha yang versi "the best of" nya sangat worth it beli CK 👍 bobot ringan (seperti XPS30/Juno DS),ada bluetooth audio,ada drawbar organ,dst
Kalo kurang suara tinggal colok PC jadi midi controller buat VSTs :)
