Just did this before watching your video. Good tips, esp drilling out the ends. I have a cable that won’t slide well and was thinking the gap was too tight on the end. As for the textured ends on the plastic cable sheath, I just sanded that down and problem was solved.

Cool. The vice...I'm still looking for an old school vice for 50 bucks, also good video, a little dizzy from the movements, but very clear, instructions, thanks.

sandpaper the rough ridges on the cable and then it slides right in without using a vise or pounding. i've had to do this to every door on my 2001 E-150 Van. Got it down pat after doing it on 4 doors

Thanks man, I ended up using wheel bearing grease but it still worked great!

I have the same problem as Carina Fancher of her comment 5 months ago that the ball came out of the lower latch while the door is stuck shut. Could use some more advice on how to get the door open. Thanks. BTW, your video answered my other question of how far down the new metal ends must go.

The ball part on the bottom latch came out while my door was still stuck shut. I know this video is 4 years old but hoping you see this and maybe know what we should do?

Dang, the only thing I would say I can do is take the plastic panels off if need be, not sure as I don't have truck anymore. But where the rubber gromet stuff is around the clamps, see if u can pry the clamps open with something. Pulling hard may do the trick too

Doesn't make any sense at all! The rapid camera movement will make anyone dizzy. You don't really explain much at all. "I take these things & drill they out & squeeze them on here."

Yeah, it was a crappy production and not even much an edit. Just something I thought would help someone despite my ill instructions. I am a visual guy and thought the visuals would help more than just looking up words on the internet. That's the reason for the crappiness of this video lol.

It worked for me. I ordered the parts from Amazon. Followed the included instructions. Had to drill the hole ( not included in instructions). Put it together. Door latch works now. This may not be an Academy Award performance, but without it my latch would be still stuck. Thanks for the video.

Another flub video; your videographer must be ADD as the camera is too active. Chill out and rehearse next time so you can perform the fix in order.
