There will never be another Mac Wiseman. Never
Ol Mac Wiseman! Met him 37 years ago. He was a real gentleman. And a very good musician. Meet you in heaven Mac. I'm sure you'll be there
Just learned Mac left this world two days ago and my extreme sadness at this took me by surprise. It feels as if he was someone I knew very well. There was a genuine familiar feeling and quality about Mac, his voice, his phrasing, his delivery, that was unlike any other. I enjoyed listening to him sing any song I ever heard him sing. Even songs made hits by other singers were somehow even better as done by Mac. I am so grateful to know his music and to have been his fan so many decades. Rest well Mac. Some part of country music dies with you but your voice lives on.
Rest well, the king of bluegrass.
He still carries the voice that nobody has ever duplicated, one of a kind, one of the best. Thanks for posting.
Praise the Lord. This is one of the favourite song of my beloved daddy who passed the face of the earth on 1st January 2020_ a noble & a humble soul who always wished to extend his helping hands to the poor & needy in his own small ways. Faithful & dedicated servant of God indeed. Remembering him with all the thoughts & memories as I tuned in to this song. Praising God for the beautiful soul that has been saved. Praying to God to take up the yoke_the remaining assignments that my daddy had left behind & hoping to see him sooner or later with the Lord 👑
R.I.P. Mac Wiseman. There are a million and one stars in your crown.
Such a distinctive voice. There is no mistaking Mac. And still as resonant at his age here as ever he was when the Bluegrass genre was in it's infancy. Our group had the honor of being his backup band ( Limited Edition w/ Denis LePage ) on one of his Central Ontario tours back in the early 1980's. We did three shows with Mac. Every Bluegrass and Country musician knows all his songs. At least those who are approaching my age.I am proud , and humbled to say , that when I was singing as a teenager way, way back when in Montreal , my friends said I was their local "Mac Wiseman". " Jimmie Brown The Newsboy" was my signature song. Thanks Mac.
Still sings beautifully at 89. Bluegrass, gospel, country and Folk all rolled into one. In my opinion, the best Bluegrass singer that ever lived.
Beautiful. Thank God for this witness. The light of Jesus shines brightly through our dear brother.
No one could match the great Mac... Every song he ever sand was HIT... So sorry to know that he is gone from our great country music... God is now enjoying Mac's music...
Mr. Wiseman still has that same great sound. You can't miss that wonderful voice.
We lost a good one here. R.I.P my friend.
Been listening to Mac from early childhood. My dad loved his music. Timeless voice and style!
There are many stars in Mr. Wiseman's crown now. R.I.P. Mac; you have fought the good fight. Bless you and your family.
I can't really say enough about this man.I played music with him many times. But he never knew how bad I was. Why?Iplayed with the Old albums .long play that is. I love him and his style the best.

I love this song.
Such a wonderful man, my mom's favorite singer, bless his heart and mom's too. Heaven bound many years ago.
A wonderful song by a really great artist
Mr Mac Wiseman is one of the very few first generation bluegrass singers still here. It's great to hear him sing it's been a long time - Last time I saw him was at Cherokee, NC at Normand Adams' festival. If you consider the following you get an idea what kind of longevity this gentleman has in our music. On October 22, 1949, He went in the studio with his boss man Bill Monroe and recorded two powerful duets; Traveling Down This Lonesome Road and the archetypical bluegrass duet Can't You Hear Me Calling. At the time of this writing that means he was in the studio with the Father of Blue Grass Mr Bill Monroe 65 years ago. Thank you so much for sharing this
Rest easy Mac Wiseman, a true legend even before u left this world.
That voice just keeps getting richer and richer - and it was pretty darned great to start with. Bless you, Mac!

This is the most beautiful rendition of the hymn. Mr. Wiseman I have always loved your music and singing voice. You are a God send to us. I just love your fiddeler and the young girl that plays the mandolin. What an impressive groupe who accompany you along with the singers and the guitarist. Man, God is so good to us to have given you and your musicians for our peace and enjoyment. Your friend in Canada, Steve Kack

Hey Gloria...Who is the fiddle player? He sure gets a wonderful tone...
***** Hi Jan his name is Justin, I cant remember his last name, but what a talent
***** Jan did you get to see the pictures on facebook of the Hall Of Fame?
No, Gloria. I sure did not... I need to check them out...
Mac has an unparalleled voice and delivery and often picked his own guitar licks between verses. Whenever I listen to Mac it reminds me of a long , lost musician from NW Ontario who could play anything with strings and sang great too. His name was Smiley Bates but he never got the recognition he deserved and died a young man at 55 I believe.. Thanks for sharin Mac's music..... super awesome.....

hello
Yes I remember Smiley Bates. A wonderful Ontario guitar player. No one could ( can ) pound out those Bluegrass guitar runs like Mac. I think that I learned a lot about playing Bluegrass rythym by listening to his songs. As well as from the Doc Williams By Ear guitar courses I ordered from WWVA. I still have those 45 RPM s.
"The ROOTS of my raising'"...(Alfred Brown)

That fella can sang
Lyrics:
I am thinking today of that beautiful land
I shall reach when the sun goeth down;
When through wonderful grace by my Savior I stand,
Will there be any stars in my crown?
Refrain:
Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown,
When at evening the sun goeth down?
When I wake with the blest in the mansions of rest,
Will there be any stars in my crown?
In the strength of the Lord let me labor and pray,
Let me watch as a winner of souls;
That bright stars may be mine in the glorious day,
When His praise like the sea-billow rolls.
Oh, what joy it will be when His face I behold,
Living gems at His feet to lay down;
It would sweeten my bliss in the city of gold,
Should there be any stars in my crown.
love it.

Mac is one of the best and the song has a good message too: 2 Cor 5:10
Thank You
The fiddle player is Justin Moses. A very talented musician. Currently he is playing banjo and dobra in the Ricky Skaggs band. He plays just about anything with strings.
Very nice,thanks for sharing,Keith
R.I.P Mac
Beautiful vocals and song thanks for sharing :))
He has that Irish influenced Vaudeville voice, like a Circus Caller. Amazing how many of my relatives and native Bostonians talk the way this guy sings. But none of these folks sound like Mac when they sing? Puzzling, but a great gift from God Mac has, we so love this style. I see cobble stone streets and gas street lights when I hear this voice. Definitely a "FOLK" singer.
great sure enough
Rest in Peace
💖💖💥💥🙏🙏💥💥💖💖
Mac's the only one with a pleasant, youthful expression on his face. Everyone else looks like they're at a funeral. LOL
I think ole Mac has a crown full of stars - what y'all think?
😍👍
Johnny Rebel has a great funny version of this song and it is called Will There Be Any Checks In His Mail...LOL.. Will there be any checks welfare checks in his mail. Will there be any checks in his mail? Will there be any checks for the ones who Lyndon's blessed, Will there be any checks in his mail?...LOL... Thank you Johnny Rebel for that song!
Its not how you sing but how you sing!Belt it out and sing for the boss man!
Has anyone heard the Jesse Jackson version of the song? It is called, "Will There Be Any Welfare Checks In My Mail."
So far 23 zombies with thumbs down.???????
Wow, Justin Moses on fiddle and Sierra Hull on mandolin. Whose doing the guitar break?
