  • Trying something new. Longer, slower paced videos with fewer cuts like Louis Rossman videos when he still did repairs.

haha cool. more louis rossman related content. recently bought a bunch of old ipad 2 replacement batteries. have never found such a thin fat cell. i think they were 7$ each (for 3 pack, about the same capacity as 18650). good for projects like a 100watt charger+extra laptop usb-c screen based off ipad3 screen and a conversion board. they sell metal shell kits too and everything fits inside if you move some of the surface mount components around on the 100w usb-c board

There is a possibility to fix these. After opening, connect a separate smart balancer to the battery. Charge it up to 35v monitoring the cell goups. Connect the original shimano steps charger. If you get error light 1 and 5 after 30 "led-blinks", it is possible to repair in 90% of the cases. The problem is the smd 30A fuse. Fixed 7 batteries today, just by replacing the fuse. It should be changed while connected to the battery.

Are you sure it is silicone around the temp sensor? I mean, if it is hot glue you could use IPA and it will be a peace of cake to get the temp sensor out ...

Didnt understand what he meant by "split cell groups" and that, I guess, 1.6V cells were good.

Wouldnt dielectric grease on the connectors prevent water damage?

    Hi Chef
Is the temperature sensor important? And why, because he could not maintain it and unfortunately it broke😢
