    Great video. You did great job on the mods, to your liking. Looks awesome! At the end of the video, you said, "see you in the spring". Very true, I wouldn't take the bike out in the winter either. I lived in Connecticut for 23 years. I know damn well, the crazy winters and how anyone can easily get caught in black ice at every turn. Not to mention the corroding salt that eats away at anything. As you know, motorcycles are not meant, to keep shooting the pressure washer at every nook and cranny, on a daily basis. Seals will dissolve quickly, electrical components, sensors, connectors, etc, start to cause problems and need replacing. Just a headache! You're a smart man to keep your bike in a clean, dry and salt free environment! If I had invested money in mods and upgrades and I still lived on the east coast, I'd only take the bike out during the short three-four months of summer, as well! (after the heavy April rains wash away the majority of the salt off of the asphalt) Congrats!!

    Amazing job on the bike! I just bled my ABS brakes for the front using a vacuum bleeder and it worked great! No issues with ABS after. Just make sure to run about a full amount of fluid through the master cylinder and pump the brakes to get all of the bubbles out of the line. Very easy to do on your own and can avoid the dealer!

    • @vinnymacpr
      @vinnymacpr  Před 3 lety

      Yeah, I would’ve bled on my own if it were for the front. The rear is more complicated and involved from what I’ve been reading online. But you’re right, I def want to avoid the dealership as much as possible moving forward

    • @Mitchwilmarth
      @Mitchwilmarth Před 3 lety

      @@vinnymacpr not sure how the rear could be any different. Both master cylinders run into the same ABS system so it should be the same. Worst case is some air in the line and then just do a gravity bleed to make certain all of the air is out.

      Someone asked me this about a year ago and I honestly don’t know. I mean I spread it out about 3 years, but I’d prob say about 5-6k. Seats (Corbin and Alex leather), front and back suspension, Roland sands mid controls, tires and Long Ride saddle bags are among the more expensive additions. But with all the smaller ones combined... prob closer to 6. To be fair, I’ve bought several handgrips, headlights, mirrors, seats, foot controls, etc. So not saying all mods on my bike currently are worth 6k, but that I’ve prob spent that over the course of owning it.

    • @vinnymacpr
      @vinnymacpr  Před 3 lety +1

      @@ajvalerio86 someone else asked me about this, and it’s hard to say. Because I changed to a drag bar and my foot control location has changed, I am sitting at a different position than with stock. With those changes, yes, I see better. But I will say it was better with the larger kiwav mirrors I have in my first video- because they have a wider FOV and they are more maneuverable with the pivoting arm. That said, with the round ones I see fine. If I have a larger riding jacket with thicker sleeves, I might need to tilt my head very minimally. Not sure if that answers your question.

    • @vinnymacpr
      @vinnymacpr  Před 3 lety

      Because of the dreamcatcher insert, they gave me a 13inch bar. The smallest ginz shows online (without and insert) is 10inches. They were super helpful when I called to spec it out, so they can tell you the smallest bar they’d be able to make for you given your specific bike and bar type.

  • @JohnMichaelsHeyGirrrllThe3rd

    I really want to get this bike but i hear it's really easy to drag pegs on it.

    • @vinnymacpr
      @vinnymacpr  Před 3 lety

      With this mount specifically you’ll get a better lean angle. The pegs not only sit slightly higher than stock position, but they are also shorter than stock... and definitely much shorter than the billet rider pegs I had prior to the change.
      I am not aggressive with the lean, and I scraped up the stock and billet pegs. I don’t see myself doing that with these.

      Thanks, appreciate it!
      Would I recommend it as a first bike? I wouldn’t make that call- it’s totally dependent on the skill, confidence and discipline of the new rider. Most people recommend getting something used or a beater for a first bike, in case of drops and so that they can learn on something that’ll give them confidence before getting something more powerful. That said… the only riding experience I had before I bought this bike was from the motorcycle safety course when getting my license… so it’s definitely doable.

    • @vinnymacpr
      @vinnymacpr  Před 3 lety +1

      I don’t necessarily need it, I have it for the extra layer of comfort in case. But remember, I have a drag bar and mid controls mounted on my bike, so I’m leaning forward, with my passenger doing the same. If you are riding more upright, and especially if you have mini apes or higher bars, your passenger might be resting more on the back rest than for me. The naked sissy bar is not comfortable on its own, but the back pad is definitely overpriced. I would say give it a try without the pad for a while and see how you feel. You can always get it after the fact, like I did.

      The seat is from Corbin (black bomber jacket leather), the back rest is from Ginz. I knew they couldn’t match the seat which is more of a grayish color, so I just had them do it in black leather. They can do it in different color stitching. If you plan on buying a custom seat yourself and want them to match, you may want to consider getting a plain black seat.

      @vinnymacpr  Před 3 lety

      I dunno the service cost of installing an abs system, but I wouldn’t be surprised if, on top of the cost of the system itself, you’d end up paying more. I think you’d be better off with looking at a bike that has everything you want stock.
