I noticed that the current French generation's English proficiency has definitely gone up a lot as compared to the boomer generation in France. It's so surprising but also so cool haha.
Yet believe me the teaching of English is as bad as it used to be. But in today's world we get to watch movies and series in English, to communicate on the Internet in English, etc... imo that's mainly why we got better
I should say the world of your grand-parents was different at their time. They didn't need especially to use english. And those last thirty years I never have to use english in my daily life and it's still the case nowdays for the big majority of french people. Living in Flanders near Netherlands, I just find a pity that they use more and more english words in their own language, losing a part of their own culture.
I was at the gig in Le Sebastopol in Lille just 2 days ago. I can absolutely confirm the children's book he shares with the audience is so cringely mispronounced that it's hilarious. Was worth buying the ticket just for that !

Excellent ! Lorsque j'ai regardé ses premières vidéos, j'ai cru qu'il était français avec un super niveau d'anglais. Il parle aussi l'espagnol, et il est tout aussi bon ! Il est vraiment doué en langues.
