FX’s FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans tells the story of acclaimed writer Truman Capote, once a confidante to society’s most elite women, whom he nicknamed “the swans.” However, his act of betrayal effectively destroyed those relationships, banished him from high society and sent him into a spiral of self-destruction from which he would ultimately never recover.

Tom Hollander looks and sounds so much like Capote! Seeing Jessica Lange as his mother brings a smile to my face as well. Thank God for FX shows!
He definitely sounds like him ...& Behaves like him ....done ✅....... just my opinion
Toby Jones played him so much better in Notorious! Plus that guy in Murder by Death did the best Capote ever!

@@boohankins2993 Hi. Did you see Toby Jones as Capote in Notorious? I think Jone's small size and physical resemblance to Capote gave him an edge. I don't understand why Notorious bombed, I thought it was a better movie and study of Capote than Hoffman's Capote.

What I don’t understand is how they decided to make this series about the Swans and not have included Marella Agnelli who most resembled a swan and who Capote first coined the term for
No, it doesn't make sense at all...but, she isn't as well known and definitely not Anglo-saxxon enough being an Italian woman.🙄
Marella and Gloria Guinness does not seem to feature either...and she was Babe Paley's closest female friend, but overall it looks good
If that's true, which I say because I didn't know, then that is a massive missed opportunity to have another great character and, ultimately, educate the watchers of the show like me who don't know this story about her alongside.
She sounds pretty pivotal so that's simply baffling.

Both of these Swans are also stye icons famous for their chic fashion, being on the the Best Dressed Hall of Fame tho came from very different backgrounds; Marella was born an Italian princess, while Gloria came from a very humble upbringing tho eventually married into Guinness banking family of England.
Marella was possibly Truman’s first swan 🦢 and it was while vacationing on the Agnelli yacht he met Katherine Graham and devised the initial idea of the Black & White Ball in his her honor.
Gloria & Babe were close gfs as they vacationed annually together with their husbands and there are some fun photos of the two beauties getting hammered🥂🍾🍸

I’ve seen some of the actors on late night shows including Tom Hollander combined with this trailer…I can’t wait. I like movies about Truman Capote..he was a pretty fascinating. The entire cast is fabulous.The truest heartbreak is Treat Williams being gone. 😢

First 2 episodes are fire 🔥
I had some problems watching the show on Hulu. It suddenly just cut off the episode halfway through. I have no idea what that's about. Hulu is so subpar. But I did manage to find the 'DIRECTOR'S CUT' of Episode 1. It's soooooo good, so much better than the regular episode that aired, at least the part I saw. The scenes are a little longer and the story is much better in this longer version. I highly recommend it for fans of the show.

It would seem that most, if not all of it IS true. Capote just rewrote what was told to him by the women themselves. They weren't angry because he lied about them. They were angry because he revealed their secrets. How he thought he could get away with it is mind-boggling. The women were united in their rage against him. Capote was the only one thrown under the bus, although one of the women committed suicide years later.
Brush up on your history. It IS true. He wrote “La Côte Basque, 1965” for Esquire magazine and exposed the dirty - some very dirty - secrets of these rich Manhattan women.
La Côte Basque was a famous restaurant in Manhattan where they all used to dine, frequently.
It’s closed now but I was fortunate enough to go there before it shut down. I took my mom there for Mother’s Day. The seafood mousse they had there was divine and the service was impeccable.

Whats driving me crazy about this show is the under-eye liner. Look at all the photos of the original women. They never wore it in that era and it shouldn't be part of the look.

Calista Flockhart simply SUCKS! She's playing Lee Radziwill exactly like Kat Grant in Supergirl! Seriously? Maybe if she could act, she'd have bothered to look at historical footage of Lee. One other point, notice how all these actresses look a million times better with 1960's glam looks! Niaomi Watts NEVER looked better as did Demi Moore!
