Tuesday's Taylor's Tinkering Tutorial.....You're also adding about 8mm to the length of the feeder, which is another 8mm of bait you can deliver per feeder / per cast with the two 40g weights glued together. Liking the longer mono link, and cutting down the feeder to give a 5-hole option. The 5-hole 80g will be the same length as the 7-hole 40g, but it will get the distance (and compress the heavier rods) easier while delivering the same amount of bait in those nasty crosswinds.

Alan. Simple question. Why don't people use a groundbait catapult. So much easier mate

      Apologies for hijacking.....
Catapults cannot be accurate for distance as much as a feeder. Line clips are a plus in this respect.
A feeder is predominantly used to catch bottom-feeding fish, and the feeder takes the feed to the bottom.
A ball of groundbait can be washed away by water movement on the surface, and by undertow, before any of it gets to the area you're fishing.
Regulation of bait quantities added to the swim is easier with a feeder.
Firing in balls of groundbait (even a golf-ball-sized one) could work out more expensive than using half a kilo of groundbait through the feeder over the course of a day.
A golf-ball-sized ball of groundbait WILL NOT reach 60+m.
The feeder will deliver your chosen feed and hookbait without breaking up, whereas you cannot guarantee a catapulted ball won't break up in mid-air
A groundbait catapult pouch is painful when it whacks you on the knuckles.

@stevemccrory9130 I used to fish festivals and matches in Ireland 🇮🇪 at Loch Ken and various natural venues across the uk and they were suitable then and accurate enough. People have been sold the bait up rods , bigger reels etc are a must by tackle companies and the media . I'm personally not buying into it but I really appreciate your comments and opinion
