I use to to screen printing a long time ago. Your images will look a lot crisper if you do not let your screen lay directly on top of what your printing on. You want about 1/8 inch between your screen and your substrate. As your squeegee passes over the image, the screen will make momentary contact with the surface and as it pulls away from the surface, it will leave a nice, smooth image. For the longest time when I did screen printing at home, I just used a couple of paint stirring sticks as spacers and it worked great. I like the fact that you made the kits for the beginners so they could just jump on in with both feet. Good job with that.

I do like to have off contact when I’m using a press set up- but with this method (a loose frame on a table) I don’t find that it is necessary and I am still able to get really sharp prints

I just came across your channel today, and I am obsessed! It automatically played after I watched a few other videos! Although I was in another room no longer paying attention to the videos, I heard your voice and explanation of your process of registration with two color designs and came back to replay and watch yours! Your straight forward approach and explanations are exactly what I was looking for- THANK YOU! I'm about to dive into screen printing with vinyl after having only used HTV to make shirts in the past 🙂
I have a question though- what ink type would you recommend for screen printing on active wear such as tech shirts or leggings with stretch? Thanks so much!
