    If you multi table you could shut a table down once your stack at that table has increased by 20 big blinds. That's your reward, fewer tables and continue this until you shut down your last table. Gives you some relief from the grind as you meet your goals. Helps avoid fatigue as your session gets easier and easier.

It has worked for two days now mainly because of this kind of core essentials that you give us without any crap in between. Maybe should lower the bar to 20€.

    Ahhhhmazing! I can't believe how much I have enjoyed testing this theory. I have recently just come back to the online table after about 4-5 years, just kind of as a lark to pass some time. Before, after tons of reading and studying the game in books and vids it all came down to the same thing. I would put some money on the site and would just fluctuate up and down a little bit, but eventually it would dwindle and be gone. I made sure to refresh before putting my toes back in the water and came across your content. Somehow my eyes have opened up to a whole new world. This ..this! Never thought I would enjoy playing the 1-2 cent micros takes again. It was always such chaos before! I just love the simplicity without all the evo's and and equity, and pot odds talking. I understand bits of those theory's, but sometimes that stuff just gets overwhelming. Now you are my main man for video binging. Hope your day is great.

    I've just took up poker again about a month ago, and I use the PP technique, and it works very well. I really appreciate the 2 hands here. The 1st hand is how I play them almost all the time and I probably win 6 pots to every 1 lost.. Ty, I watch your vids daily. The check raise idea in hand 2, I was always afraid the player would fold, but I'm going to try it starting immediately and you might have helped me double or possibly triple my poker income, ty very much:)

Sometimes I push like you did here trying to encourage them NOT to call so they don’t complete their straight or flush on the river.

      @David Cat if it was that easy, then you just make early snug folds when you have nothing and raise bigger when you have the nuts. But it’s not that simple. It actually does generally work, but you adjust based on the state of the board.

    • @mick727xd
      @mick727xd Před 2 lety

      @David Cat I agree for the most part. But there’s definitely spots for it, especially on disconnected boards. or boards where an obvious specific card gives the nuts. There’s also a stigma in microstakes about going all-in, as it seems like a much stronger message to newer players.

    I used to play more aggressively at the button, even going all in more at the button.. simply because it had an advantage but.. a big part of the button advantage is the advantage to fold. So then more carelessness because you can fold is just more carelessness. To use the full advantage of the button position you have to be willing to fold.
    Going all in at the button prematurely, simply because you have the best position negates all your advantage that you have at the button.

    Dear BlackRain79,
    First, let me say that I truly appreciate the content you create and the valuable insights you provide to the poker community. I have a question that I ask with genuine curiosity and good intentions, and I hope you understand my skepticism.
    I've noticed that many successful poker players, who seemingly have earned enough money to live a luxurious lifestyle in another country, still invest considerable time and effort into creating CZcams content, blogs, courses, and other marketing endeavors. I am curious to know what motivates you and others like you to dedicate so much time to these activities when you have already achieved significant financial success through poker.
    Please know that my intentions are not to offend or question your dedication to the game, but rather to understand the driving forces behind these decisions. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this matter.
    Thank you for your time, and I wish you continued success in your poker journey.

      I have been thinking about the same thing for a while. From where I stand, I think it is because the passive income. You could earn a lot through just a single tournament or a good hand. But if you spend all that money, I mean, you should get my point. For the sake of continue earning some income through the poker tables, you have to actively be grinding. If you can pair that with creating content like CZcams or a podcast, or putting your ideas in a book, now you have a side activity that could bring you some money. You could even chose learn to invest in the stock market or the real estates. At the end, it’s what you do with your time and money that will make the difference.

    I play a session with the objective being to gain 20 big blinds. That's $2 on a 5/10 boost table.
    Some days I might win five or six sessions with zero losses that way. Helps me avoid fatigue tilting and gives me a simple and attainable objective. If you are having trouble 'playing until you lose' too often because you can't tell when you are no longer playing your 'A game' due to fatigue or impatience.. this might help a lot.

      I've been playing off & on at Bovada/Bodog since 2005 and the SNGs are about as good as ever. My goal was 60 games in December and I made $840 ($14 per). So far in January I've made $498 in 19 games ($26.21 per) which is crazy. The problem is staying disciplined by limiting/avoiding cash games, blackjack, and sports betting.

    Getting $20 a day at these stakes is extremely high, isn’t it? Even at 2,000 hands a day, on a single table your win rate would have to be 50bb/100 (essentially impossible today) to reach a measly $20. Am I missing something?

      I used to 8 table at Ultimate Bet between 2006 and 2009 and made roughly that amount of money, probably playing 4 or 5 hours a day. People in general now are much better than they were 15 years ago. The idea of "set mining" is not exactly new, and was a common tactic back in the day as well. And you have to ask yourself-is set mining against donks, to make $4/hour, worth your time?

    I actually cannot stand the variance in these low stakes games. You can sit and play and win a little here little there but then get busted on a hand just like this where you make the set some person goes crazy and catches a 4 card flush or busts your set with a terrible hand and you end up losing 10x more than you won playing "right" for hours.
    I get % and math and odds over the long haul but a few bad hands can really put you behind.

    What poker sites are best in America? Because lots of them have too many tight players. And what about collusion between 2 or more people? There's hustlers everywhere, so this would give a solo player a huge disadvantage.

    • @ghislainpitre7031
      @ghislainpitre7031 Před 2 lety
