That thing sounds killer man! Great work.
Drum beats online!
not gonna lie, the juices werent flowing while i was demoing the drum, so I played to a random 6/8 version of joy to the world I had to play for some christmas thing last year... I will def be playing it more on the channel tho, so be sure to subscribe!
Can you make a video reviewing Attack drum heads and comparing them to Evans/Aquarian/Remo?
Forget snare drums. DIY A SUB KICK!!!!
I've seen a couple crappy videos of how to do it and pretty sure you can do it better. So... Do it! Now please.
Also, good job on this build. Pretty tight.
I love your version of fan service.

".....Happy?"
Bielanski I love that part. It’s so funny.
I had a Ludwig black beauty snare a few years ago. I put diecast hoops on it, man that thing ripped. Great for outdoor live shows when you need volume and tone.
0:35 so you wrote a poem about it?
Your idea will never sell...
@@ButtahDawgMcDouble this is a nickel plated brass shell
it's black nickel if you couldn't tell
and I bought it cheap, from flood it had fell.
but I felt it was, naught the matter at all.
twas the most beautiful drum that I'd ever saw,
I thought it was needed by drummers and all.
I found the sound so sweet in this snare
the beautiful noise that rang through the air.
I set off to work with such Grace and such care,
cause the thought of it dying was to much to bare.
I measured the butt plate and the throw off too,
drilled it all out and made it anew.
I made some scratches, but I hadn't knew,
but the scratches were covered,
and I got some snares too.
and the snare was so great.
it seemed that lady fate
had brought it, wrought it, to me
twas the most gorgeous snare that ever could be.
why did I do this?

This poem is well written
Great job man! 👍👌
I bought a gently-used Pork Pie copy of the Black Beauty for $100 about 10 years ago. Also 14” X 5.5”. Probably the best drum investment I’ve ever made. The drum sounds tremendous! It mikes well, cuts through well when needed, responds beautifully to ghost notes and...really, it does everything I’ve ever asked of it perfectly and is a beautiful beast. Thanks again, Billy!
One of my old drummers had that same snare around the same time period too. I used to to borrow it all the time. Coated ambassador for the batter and a double wide snare set, and then I would crank it way up like I do on all my snares for playing really heavy music. It sounded so, so good.
*Deadly storm passing by*
David: Lets build a snare!
Please make a PVC pipe drum set please.
Or just make some PVC octobans on a rack mount.
@Fiend S @Hans Grueber - I think a problem with that could be that the diametre of PVC pipes is measured on the inside (as opposed to the outside, with drum shells) and that it may be difficult to find fitting heads and rims!
I made 2 x 10" PVC drums back in the 1980s. They sound good but are extremely heavy.
I made some 6, 8 and 10” concert Tom’s out of PVC back in the mid 70s. They actually sounded really good.
why does he make me want hella snares
"Tornado passing by." I love that!
normal people when theres a tornado warning: making sure they are in a safe secure place and have enough food
david: SNARE
Hehe tornado just casually passing by
Out of all the drumming channels I watchi enjoy yours the most. You're real and that matters. Thanks, also nice job with Cassie!
Great video ! That snare sounds awesome ! That obviously took a good amount of work to build it.
Also , i really enjoy your demos because you don't play anything super complicated and we can actually hear the snares.
So many other drummers demonstrate their stuff and they play super busy
because they just want to show off their skills and we can't really hear how good the snares are. You are a true professional.
And your playing is always excellent. Thanks for posting.
Man superb work! Great find on that shell too, it sounds great! I have a Pearl Sensitone...reminds me of this drum.
Hope that you guys made it through the storm without issue! Take care!
Man this was the best i've heard both your playing and mixing of the kit sound.
I made this snare a few years ago and messed up the vent pretty bad by going straight from the pilot to a 1/2 inch bit. Stepped bit is the way to go. Thanks for everything!
Kickstarter to get him a new Milwaukee shirt
ha!
Sounds great! Loving the new kick sound, and that snare is a beast!!
Looks amazing! Another sweet build David! The Attack on that is intense!
You're right I do NEED that snare. When can I expect it to be delivered? Haha. Nice job man, sounds great. I love how you try to refurbish or repurpose all this stuff, too many people are quick to give up on things and just toss em if they see a blemish or something goes wrong. Subbed. Take it easy.
I love your drumming. It’s so musical and real.
Love watching someone do it right, great job!
