- During lock down here in the UK I have had a lot more time to get some jobs done I have been meaning to tackle for a long time.
In this video I finally replace the front Fiat badge which is attached to the front bumper, and sadly this isn't easy, the whole front bumper has to come off to be able to replace the badge.
So if you need to know how to remove the front bumper or want to change the front badge this is the video for you. While doing this we took the opportunity to remove one of the indicator units to remove some of the flaked off orange coating from an indicator bulb.

Top tip for orange flecks inside indicator housing its good idea to tape large feather too a thin stick (plant support stick) to remove orange flecks from the very edge of the indicator housing, because anything bigger risks cracking the lens from the indicator housing
I ran into a deer, on my Grande Punto, and I changed the grills and emblem without removing the front bumper.. and that's the difference between doing repairs at home and at an experienced mechanic 😉
Easy to do on the grande as the grill just pulls off with the badge and has no need to take the bumper off, unfortunately they over complicated things on the Evo
I just came across your video. Very usefull. Love from india
Bumper removal Starts at 3:32
Çok güzel teşekkürler
Axel stands my friend ! Axlestands ! Not safe just on the Jack !
Would never climb under a car without it being on axle stands, lots of cuts in the video so not obvious all of the time getting the belly pan off the engine requires the axle stands to be moved so early on in the video it’s hidden behind the wheel, later on you can see the foot of the stand in front of the wheel after I moved it
I did this yesterday and managed to remove the badge without fully loosening one side of the bumper. There weren’t any screws holding my badge in place just some clips
Good to know !
You managed to remove the badge without removing the bumper?
Hi andy, nice channel i love this car and your videos :D im recently sub
Hi, thanks for the comments and thanks for subscribing !!
Thanks a lot
Thanks for watching and letting me know 🤗
Hello! Just came across your video and youtube channel, its really good! Do you know how difficult/hard/easy it is to take off the rear bumper? I have a Grande Punto 2009 and its been love tapped by another driver and need to see how much damage is hiding underneath!
Hi ! One of my next videos is planned to remove the rear bumper, i suspect its not all that hard, similar to the process for the front bumper, but i have not done it myself yet. There are likely to be some bolts/screws into the body work on the sides and along the boot edge then maybe some screws in the wheel arches/liners where fitted.
Hi! Where did you buy the fiat badge? Really good video!
I think I got it from either eBay or Amazon, either way it was from a Fiat dealer who was selling on that platform and so it is a genuine Fiat part
Dunno if you still read these, but - would it be possible to swap the indicator holder without taking the bumper off? Think someone had a kick at mine. Sigh.
I do read pretty much all comments so never be afraid to ask, I’m all honesty to your question I am not sure, you may be able to get some tools in there and take the housing out, but I’d suggest not only would popping the bumper off be quicker and easier, it would probably avoid any damage to anything behind the bumper, it really is very easy to take the bumper off, but if you try without please let me know how you get on ?
@@PuntoHowto I mostly worry about how the screws/bolts will look, this one has another 3 years on yours in the video ;)
Will see what I'll end up doing with it. Thanks for the reply!
@@Nightykk remember mine had a particularly hard life and had covered 170k+ miles it had not been brilliantly looked after so most of the underside of the car and especially anything metal was pretty rough , very dirty and very rusty, most of the bolts nuts and screws at the front of the car had been stripped out, rounded off or were just missing and replaced with wood screws so I’m sure your car will be much better
Do you have any idea if this is the same process for the Abarth Punto Evo?
Yes it should be the same
How to replace Fiat Grande Punto Emotion Diesel 2019/10 Horn , do we need to remove the entire Bumper or only Grill , Thanks
I’ve not had to do this so can’t answer
cann water get inside driver foot well through the fender area ?
It's possible, but the door seal would have to fail for this to occur so I would start by looking at the door seals.
More likely if you are getting water in the front of the car, is the scuttle at the bottom of the windscreen, where the wiper motor lives there are some drain holes to funnel the water off the windscreen down into the engine bay and out the bottom, The drains block, water builds up in the scuttle area and can then come into the car where the heating takes in cold air from outside.
Is there a way to take off the badge without taking the whole front bumper off?
You’ve always got to take the bumper off to some degree, you could take one side off pull it forward and using short tools work in the gap but you risk cracking the bumper and by the time you’ve done that you’ve probably only got a couple of fasteners left to remove
Hi, to change horn i need to remove front bumper like in your video, i don t know any option
I’ve not had to do this so can’t answer
@@PuntoHowto i had horn damaged by water , removing bumper is needed , but thanks for tutorial which helped me a lot , btw i managed to make fiat logo black :)
@@edyy1662 thanks for letting me know, this is a question a few people have asked
@@PuntoHowto no problem , for non evo models i saw you need only to remove a grill which is hold in clips :)
Too bad it is so much hassle, it should be much more accessible to remove the badge without the need to dismantling the front.
Unfortunately a lot of cars are overly complicated these days. Fiat wanted to make the Evo look abit like the 500 hence the wings on the sides of the badge so I think it was done rather quickly and without much consideration of the engineering
@@PuntoHowto my Abarth logo was severely weathered, I bought a new original emblem and carefully split the two parts. Then removed the logo from the original badge and replaced it with a new one. So I didn’t have to take the bumper off. Took me a while to make sure I didn’t ruin the new badge what cost 70 euros 😬 but it is done and the result is perfect.
I got the first gen Punto
1.2 8v 60
I bought sporting wheels from a gen 2 and I'm cleaning them up, fix leaks and gona paint them golden soon.
Other projects i have is fix deep scratches on my front bumper and paint both bumpers and my spoiler
I got few pictures of my car on my Instagram: demon_dw
Sounds like a great little car, I loved my Mk1 a big standard 55 model, I left a little message over on your Instagram!
I got one to. Car of the year in Europe in 1999. My wife has an EVO from 2012, and I don't like it as much as mine.
