The blow by is broken rings. But it really sounds like a knock in the lower end from a bearing. Having been there before with some old Allis chalmers tractors I would plan on a full engine overhaul on that tractor. Or look for a donor with a good motor.
That is some bad news Pete. Yeah sounds like a spun bearing or some metal to metal somewhere. I t will be interesting to watch a rebuild on it if you decide to do that. I know you are going to miss having a tractor because you need it for all type of chores. Hope your head and crank is not cracked or damaged. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin
Before you spend too much money on it check for cracks on the deck and down between the cylinders. These engines are known to crack and leak coolant into the oil.
Guessing you already checked to see what the oil looks like. Definitely metal on metal sound. Could be a bearing or a piston failure of some type (bad rings maybe). A compression test should tell you if one or more cylinders has a problem. But I think you're going to be doing some tractor surgery on this. Hope it goes well 🥴
That's too bad Pete. The most useful piece of equipment you have. Hurts to lose it. Good thing you're a Mechanic. Good luck with it.
Good luck and keep us posted the old girl did the best she could for years!

Dang Pete I hate that man. Hopefully it'll last you for another 60 with a good overhaul, though!

You might have broken a piston Pete.
