Patrick Star can explain this one: "I THOUGHT THE CORPS WOULD HELP ME STRAIGHTEN OUT MY LIFE, SIR!"
I thought you were talking nonsense at first, but then I searched this, and damn there are so many spongebob moments that I forgot about 😂😂😂 SFMF
Lol

Holy cow did you de-age 20 or 30 years from that audition tape? I thought that clip was someone else
Going into bootcamp and getting into impeccable shape will do that to you.
It's the war crimes that give such a radiant complexion.
The reason it doesn't work for me is because I'm not actually a soldier and have a face like a shovel.
I would have said 10 years.
The monkey is still there haunting my soul
Now we haunted the like button lmao!
Good morning! Manny McMann, owner and founder of Manny McMann’s Manly Mancave was your father?
THE LORE THICKENS
Lil_A_20 2.0 who me?
Manny Munoz no.
The last instructor I had in high school before I graduated left to join the commandant's own. Mr. Clay Cottis on Snare. Definitely the best drummer I've ever personally encountered. I was going to follow suit but I couldn't keep up thanks to medical issues.
emc: I need to send a DVD though CZcams was a thing.
Me: That's why it is called the "old" guard
The licks throught the video were super random, espesially when you ran down the hall with the snare and just grabbed the camera...
Literally my favorite channel. I play the tuba but I do winter percussion because of you and play the quads
You and I started boot camp around the same time. I started in August 2018. It was cool hearing your story. I wish I would’ve dedicated myself to music as much as you did.
Do a video on your experiences at Carolina Crown
The trilling piccolo in the background in this video is f ing maddening!
Yeah even faded into background music piccolos are pure ear rape
You have an amazing work ethic! I really enjoy your channel and content. I’m in my 30th year of teaching middle school band and love seeing and hearing your enthusiasm. Thank you and I hope you are well.
Yo, man. Your videos are pretty entertaining. I’m from Delaware, went and taught at UofD, and marched with The Commandants Own. The kids I teach at Delaware Military Academy watch your vids and get pumped! Keep up the vids. You are inspiring all sorts of people.
Cheers.
Didn't know you auditioned for the Old Guard! I come from the fife and drum corps world and it never seems like anyone in DCI really knows anything about it. I think a lot more people have joined the Old Guard where I'm from than have marched DCI
In Norfolk, Virginia, the Fife & Drum is very well known...Even Williamsburg has it's own very good nationally known group...the waiting list is two years long !! We are blessed to have the Armed Forces School of Music here , we are able to see and hear all styles of playing and wonderful performances here...There is a number of local police Pipes and Drum Corps here, also...Even as a kid, I knew about the Fife and Drum Corps,,,in the mid 1970s DCI was still pretty fresh...we used to watch them on the PBS channel during their final day of championships wherever they were playing...back then the Phantom Regiment was THE ONE to watch and beat...Bless ya !!
Bro when are we getting that face reveal tho
Alec Ryan 97535689743 subs
100 subs
This is inspiring. Thanks for sharing your experiences! I appreciate your hard work and determination to accomplish your goals.!
April 3, 2020 (Quarantine Comments ...) I've watched this video several times over the last few months ... So proud of this Marine! Semper Fi! So glad that EMC Productions showed up on my suggested videos after watching Ohio State Marching Band (TBDBITL) last October. Honored to watch Eric perform live at MCRD San Diego in February.
Great story Eric, thanks for sharing with us.
This video did motivate me, I'll gladly consider a military career for my future! Thanks for talking about this!
I was waiting for this video!
Thank you for all your video when I have a bad dad I always go to your videos and they help me so much thank you
When he said, "When I was a year old..." I was almost certain he was going to say he liked eating crayons. I'm glad he didn't lol
Just want to let you know this stuff you’re doing NOW is great and hits mine plus many more fancies
This video was awesome thank you for posting it
I don't think I realized you joined the USMC in 2018. Love the videos! Here we are in 2021 and I hope you picked up Sgt.
You’re awesome, Eric!!!
Best quality videos
Is that how the drum fill at 2:40 is supposed to sound? The transition from the hat to the snare sounded... syncopated
Dkyguy1995 uh probably
Started out wanting to join the Drum and Bugle Corps and ended up a 0341 Mortar gunner. I'll never regret it and I did play Bugle at some funerals lol.
I just graduated U.S. Army basic training and am a drummer as well. Have been playing since I was 8 and doing drumline for 6 years. And I can totally agree on the pride that comes from serving.
Catching up on old unwatched EMCproductions videos ... under THIS account! With Ads!!! Earning Eric the big bucks!!!
This dedication is from another world!😉
That bass drum quad formation at 3:15 was so cool! You should do a random lick video for that setup!😁
Also: Now that I've watched this (my 20 minute practice break after 45 minutes of being more productive than I was during all of last week), I'm hella motivated.
Also, random question: in the original My Hertas video, how did you ride that scooter with no hands? Tell me your secret.
He said he had his hips on the handlebars. Neat.
I knew you had to be friends with Jeff. I met him in 2000 while my brother was in Blast. Love your stuff. T-Shirt idea, I love your Paradiddles.
Didn't even realize he only had 40K subs until he said "Revealed at 50,000 subs". You deserve wayyy more man. Good luck (I mean that's the YT Algorithm right?) and keep doing what you're doing!
Ty for ur service
Thanks for your service
They where playing ‘crazy army’ for the wgi clip
This is so cool, I just joined the 40th ID national guard band and my experience is kinda similar!!
My man really just set up the bass drums in a tenor configuration
I like it
Thank you for your service
Hahaha. Nice. Former Commandant’s Own member here. Great video.
12:30 I expect a dump video explaining this.
try EMCdump
@@akularia That... that is exactly what I meant when I said that haha
Dude these videos are so interesting 😂
Eric! I’m a senior in high school wrapping up my marching band season. I want to play tenors in college after having so much fun this season. Any tips and practice equipment recommendations? Thanks for the awesome content!
Buy a practice pad (VicFirth heavy hitter quadropad). Buy some sticks.
Whatever college you're attending download their music packet/exercises and memorize everything. Be sure to record yourself and always always play with the metronome.
Sincerely,
UCLA quadplayer 2014-2018
Just be good
@@marionavarro6043 That practice pad is really nice and very necessary
Ladies and gentlemen this is the tenacity that you need in life. Discover your passion and work your tail off. One day you’ll pick your head up from working hard and God willing be where you dreamt. Stay away from drugs, have a mentor in your dream job, learn everything you can and apply yourself. Good luck.
Nice to see a fellow percussionist!
jig 2 on the cowbell made my day
Thank you for serving. :)
I love that little chop suey reference in the schedule part
Love the vids keep it up 👍
As soon as you said cut I knew Banished Beyond was going to make a cameo.
When he said “at 50,000 subs” I was like, wait doesn’t he have like a few hundred thousands subs? How old is this vid😂
He has 46k subs right now
He doesn't have 100k yet
...he STILL doesn’t have 100k, what are you smoking?
@@ARSZLB Y’all crazy, he got almost 150k (issa joke)
The description clearly shows the date of publication.
Love your videos
Damn, you really _can_ improvise on bass drum
The “unlisted” option for CZcams uploads actually wasn’t introduced until May 2010
Really good stuff
All I wanted to do was to get out of science class and thats how the recruiter got me.
Nice👍👍👍I always wanted to know your back story before you joined the Marines...you are most definitely a rare Marine especially you hold a master degree but is enlisted I'm surprised you are not a officer. From one soldiers to another I salute you for what you are doing love the video and content...
I totally got a usmc commercial before your video haha errah!
Holy cow man! I played percussion in marching band through high School, I was a lifeguard and captain of the swim team, I got fired from Home Depot and I joined the army! Only difference is I didn't join the Army band.
Semper Fidelis brother.
Wow something on my recommended list that’s not 7 years old.. weird
Zed The defender of Tomorrow ha just wait, 7 years from this will be recommended to you again
Eric, I so absolutely love your story! i feel like you are me, but cooler, and better with drums…but basically me! lol - and on a serious note…thank you for your service, sir! I enjoy my freedom, thx in part to you and the Marine drumline@
also, do you have a video about your time with the Carolina Crown…? i hear their horn-line is EPIC OF EPICS…Can u tell us your part there//? please
goddang bruh, you are a BBBEEEAAASSSTTTTT ON SNARE!!!!! love it!
DAMN that groove at 14:23 caught me by surprise. I love it.
You deserve more subs
Hello Eric nice video!
omg banished beyond reference, killed it!
I joined because my dad was in the navy and I used to joke to him about swabbing the deck so I had to one up him and join the Marines , one week into bootcamp swabbing the deck sounded pretty good.
goodmorning dad
The marine corps band came to my school today as part of their national tour
This is hilarious lol. Time to sub
The banished beyond reference takes me back
14.24 was a rly nice beat imma steal that
I like that system of a down reference on the life as a supervisor schedule
That's why you look so familiar that life guard supervisor gig
The last stick flip at 1:04 looked like it came as a surprise. :)
My percussion director marched WGI and UCI from 2011-2017. Super dope!
I watched that 2017 performance from the Commandant's Own live too. I could've been in that recording.
I really love you channel. I'm a trombonist but I love you anyways.
That wasn't even a hoorah at the beginning he just growled 😅😅😅
I want to go into music ed. I have been thoroughly inspired.
Eric, you have many subs now you have to do the ace hardware fire reveal!!!
Was that Jig 2 on cowbell at the end? That was amazing
Me watching this because the Marines visited my high school's band room
Good Brotha... I’m pretty SURE that you know NOTHING OF ME, but I’m Former GySgt. Charles J. Marvray,II, Drum Line Alumnus - I just wanted to say HOW PROUD I AM OF YOU and ALL THAT YOUR DOING for the Idiom, The Commandants Own AND THE MARINE CORPS in General!! I could NOT BE PROUDER - Your Depth of Knowledge and Multiple Musical Talent’s, AMAZE, ENTERTAIN and INSPIRE ME IMMENSELY!! OOHRAH 🎯👍🏿🦅🌏⚓️🥁 SEMPER FIDELIS, FOR REAL!!
Thank you! Semper Fi
I subscribed when you said you joined the corps
You mentioned Belleau Wood. My wife visited to the US military Cemetery at Belleau Wood just a couple of weeks ago.
I'd love to hear your story about getting into Crown.
This is weird. I auditioned in January of 2015 and my audition process was way different.
I auditioned for the "main" band then set up an audition for the Commandant's Own. I never got to do my audition for the Commandant's Own, though, as I fell out from processing for medical.
I didn't realize you could audition straight for the Commandant's Own. I wish I had known that back then, lol. I learned how to play the Marimba in like 3 weeks. Shit was stressful.
But the audition itself, like you mentioned, was pretty chill - if not a little long.
Nice! I'm from Delaware.
MOTIVATOR!!!! Ooh-rah!
I'm trying to march the Blue Coats since I currently march a Marching Euphonium
Never knew being a percussionist was this hard
Hey @EMCproductions how you doin? I wanted to ask, I'm thinking about switching from bass drum to tenors in my Marching Band( our percussion is so good, we've won lots of awards) but I was looking for a video on your channel about tenor techniques and basics of the tenors, but I could not find a video, if there is one could you route me to it or could you maybe think about making a short instruction vid about it? Thanks! P.s you are really the only muscisian I trust.. you
Awesome! I am also a Marine that is a Carolina Crown Vet. Semper Fi! .... not a drummer ... chirp chirp. But I do enjoy your videos.
Go Phantom Regiment! I have no idea which Corps you are going to eventually... but I need some sleep.
EMC I challenge you! To a marching battle! Two box drills one to the right then one to the left. Then lyrical and one technical piece to show off 😤😤 yes I’ll do it on tuba but you do you if you accept this challenge 🤔
You went to UD? Thats my boy!
