Yeah, I never watched TWOL for CRM. I only cared about Rick and Michonne’s story.

I am extremely frustrated with the criticism surrounding TWOL, particularly regarding the CRM storyline. The focus was on the love story aspect rather than the CRM itself, and it's puzzling that some fans seem to overlook this. The return of Rick and his reunion with his family should be a highlight, especially considering the efforts of actors like Andy and Danai to complete their characters' stories.
It's disheartening that some fans feel entitled to criticize every aspect of the show and even resort to bullying, especially towards a child actor who grew up on set. Instead of dwelling on the negatives, it's essential to appreciate what we enjoyed about the show and understand the challenges faced by the production team.
Acknowledging the budget and time constraints can help put certain aspects, like rushed episodes, into perspective. Ultimately, it's a reminder to focus on gratitude rather than entitlement, especially towards the talented individuals who bring these stories to life. TWOL is the highest rated spinoff and that is for a reason.
Beautiful cinematography, acting and storytelling. Could we have used two more episodes? Absolutely! It does not mean that I just harp on that aspect when we were given so much. Thank you, Danai's sister, for telling Andy and Danai that they needed to finish their story. And once again, it was presented as a love story. I loved the dialogue and the focus on these two beloved characters. I loved that their relationship was so real. I love Rick being a real person who experienced trauma and how we see him losing himself. This is what happens in real life. Rick Grimes showing men that they can be vulnerable and love so deeply. Yeah, I want more real characters rather than caricatures. This fandom is utterly relentless at times. So many are comparing the spinoffs. Stop comparing the siblings y'all!!! (rant over)
content that requires payment is NOT exempt from criticism. i had to pay a subscription to watch this show, which was largely marketed as action-packed judging by all the promotional material i'd seen. sorry, but as much as i adore both actors and characters, the show sucked. rushed story, cartoonishly-convenient plot devices, overboard deus ex machina, embarrassingly excessive Gimplespeak dialogue which made the already-excessive talking even worse, useless unthreatening antagonists, and Rick being boringly-passive.
the only audience i can imagine enjoying this show are people who spent their teenage years reading wattpad fanfiction, because that's exactly the level of writing TOWL is reminiscent of.
@@serahbay8864 Of course the show is not exempt from criticism and various perspectives. I believe the acting was good and although the storyline and pacing was imperfect, there were some memorable moments.
It was not promoted as an action-packed story, it was promoted as a love story by everyone involved. As much as you hate the show and the story, many revere it as the best spin off and the show brought many new viewers and those who left TWD several years ago. It has the highest viewership. When I was a teenager I read Shakespeare and James Baldwin. I have never heard what you speak of. Differences of opinions do not need to lead to being judgemental, rude and insulting. As a series it leaves us room to enjoy and speculate more than you possibly could with a movie, and I think as fans we love to speculate and be filled with anticipation from episode to episode!
I see a slight time jump for Richonne, maybe flashbacks of them settling back into family/community life and a reunion with Daryl and Carol and family.
I also see a focus on the Grimes family and Judith and RJ as individuals and siblings.

I don't know about a season two. They are submitting them for Emmys under limited series category and Danai is up for both acting and writing because they also submitted her episode for consideration and she has been moving up in rankings for Emmy predictions for Variety's list and especially Gold Derby's list.
I think that the Daryl Dixon season one was up for awards too as a limited series.

I absolutely love TWD original. I was extremely pleased with TOWL. Richonne’s chemistry didn’t disappoint. A beautiful love story about two warriors who are survivors. The anticipation was crazy and the ratings were off the charts. I believe if both Danai and Andy can fit it into their busy schedule then yes. Of course they would certainly need to have a great script too. If we don’t get season 2 then maybe a big reunion with everyone could happen. Anything is possible especially since the actors are so invested in the franchise. I am currently watching Fallout at the moment till Daryl Dixon season 2 starts. I was so happy with the ending of TOWL but so sad that there were no more episodes. The best Spinoff by far.
Much better as a series. It was very exciting and left me on edge every single episode. I loved the attention Dandy gave to their characters and the fact that Gimple let Dania write an episode.

My view: that Rick and Michonne were the overwhelming arc to the entire story was better than the CRM angle. It should have been more of the show, leaving crm to a crossover. Crm could have been mentioned. But Michonne finding Rick should have taken longer. And Rick finding himself. Maybe there is a part of him he still keeps hidden and may rise in a next version of twd.
Mason Beale should be the new villain
I think if he isn't we may see him as a remix of the comic ending character.

i wish TOWL had been longer, the whole CRM plot was so rushed and clunky. whenever the characters would mention how much time had passed between episodes i got whiplash, like wym a YEAR went by??? also wish it'd focused more on Rick than just being Richonne fanservice. i think my expectations may have been too high, but i was disappointed tbh.
if they hadn't rushed their escape and instead extended the CRM plotline for a possible second season, then i wouldve said yes to more of their story. as it stands, the threat is gone, they escaped, and got their family reunion. the story has been concluded, making up a new threat just to drag it out for one more season or a movie would be lame.
But Gimple never had it that way. Rick was only going to be solo for one of the three movies per Gimple's description. Movie 1 was basically just going to be Rick at the CRM trying to escape. By the second movie, Danai/Michonne was going to be involved.
I also think about the fact that Andrew Lincoln has stated, repeatedly, that he isn't interested in treading the same territory. Meaning, he doesn't want to do the same story lines over and over and if he comes back, he would want it to be for something new and original. I think TOWL pivoted towards romance because of that, in my opinion.
That being said, there is still plenty they can mine if they want to. Rick and Michonne are now major contacts to a massively large organization. And that has its issues. However, the topic is more about politics and society building than anything else and I feel like that could bore some people. I find that stuff the most interesting, though. And still, there is a ticking clock that zombie hordes will be too large to over take and there is only 14 years left of life on the continent. The threat is now focused back on zombies.
There is no Rick without Michonne. Why are so many of you haters of their relationship. I think it is a beautful, solid and healthy relationship.
