Here are my head cannons for a "Where are they now" for each contender: Glass Joe, being more a man of the mind than the body, pursued an art career, doing abstract and elaborate art pieces. On rainy days, Joe gets really bad migraines, which his doctor attributes to his boxing career, obviously. Von Kaiser returned to the army and became the commander for a junior cadet boot camp. He doesn't like it if anyone asks about his old boxing gloves. Disco Kid opened a throwback style dance and self defence club. He may not wear those gloves anymore, but he still wears the skin tight purple leotard. King Hippo decided that he should slim down his embarrassing weakness, and is doing well with his new "6 meals a day" diet plan. Rumours even went around on how he started a Smoothie brand and start learning English. Piston Hondo opened a dojo, focusing on strict and swift training. The Hondo Rush is a now infamously popular move amongst his students, though none have mastered it yet. Bear Hugger and his coach banded together enough buddies to make an official hockey team. Fans of the sport argue that having a team of grizzly bears and one very large man is cheating, but there's no rule against it in the books, so they just have to deal with it. Great Tiger actually hasn't been seen since his match against the champion. He just vanished from the stage. Friends and family have assured fans that he is okay, but he wishes to recover from the head trauma in peace. Don Flamenco has been attending anger management classes and reigniting his lost flame. Carmen has made no comment on these claims, but evidence suggests she has moved on. Aran Ryan spent six months in a hospital from injuries due to being, as the doctor put it "tangled in ways no human should be able to tangle." Another good idea would be a new protagonist who is Little Mac’s protégée trying to become champ. Maybe a relative of Doc. The other fighters could also either have their own students (the most likely characters I could see being teacher figures are Von Kaiser, Piston Honda, Soda Popinski, or Great Tiger) or have homages to them with new characters (Pepperoni Pennoni for Pizza Pasta and Rollin Rocker for Disco Kid).

Ahh I remember the day I decided to start exercising and getting in shape. This was the first song that came to mind when I was thinking about what to play while I was exercising. It’s really fitting considering what Punch Out is about and the motivation I get from listening to the song.
Or instead of returning as a boxer, he becomes a Boxing Coach like Doc and his protégée tries to be the champ (maybe a family member of Doc like a son/nephew/grandson). It would be an interesting take to see everyone and their students compete to be champ.

Well, it was 15 years since a Punch-Out game and they gave it a reboot - it would be weird to "reboot" it then leave it to the dust, especially now that Mac's in Smash Bros.
I can't see another punch out. I know some people are saying super punch out, but who would it include? Punch out Wii had all the originals and some of the more interesting characters of super punch out. I say teleroboxer on the Wii U should get a sequel. It was essentially punch out but with robots and more punching options.
I think you just answered your own question. Little Mac could fight a rock-em sock-em like robot that was specifically designed for boxing made by this short and pudgy mad scientist guy. His Title Defense mode could be the mad scientist redesigning his creation with a cockpit so he can pilot the robot himself They don't have to stick to the old classic guys. They could just bring in new ones!
Why did Little Mac retired? Because Mac realized that he accomplished his goals of not only taking back his title from that one match with King Hippo but also becoming the WVBA Champion as well as successfully defending his title which Mac accepted and decided to retire while still being fondly remembered by the public.

I know it's a bit of an outrageous request but as awesome as this song is, I think Nintendo should have payed whatever license fees would've been necessary to have the end credits music to have been the Final Bell from Rocky.

@@sirtieman Don't be like that, that wasn't my intention, I used this song that is a sign of my life that I cleared all the difficulties with all the rank s, which is a good grade and I cleared the most difficult mania+ and I cleared the Hogo Streets of Rage 4 and I want the Sega guys to solve my Streets of Rage 4 game because I don't accept cheat codes and I want to play the character Kangaroo (Roo-Sor 3) so I can be playing and get my last trophy and it had to be disabled, not by cheat code
