Dude as a teacher the iPad kid disparity is REAL. No natural curiosity, no desire, just zero life in their eyes. And then we throw a standardized test at them lol
That’s really sad but you’re right. My two nephews are almost 5 and the one on the screens is unbearable sometimes. He also has ADHD which makes it worse.
As someone who had ADHD, I think gen z is showing signs of ADHD even if they don't have it because of social media consumption lol. I'm also gen z and I feel like we are all literally showing neurodivergent signs it's so scary
@@soho6435facts I’m Gen z diagnosed with ADHD but I started working out, got a job, stopped vaping and fixed my sleep schedule and I feel like it’s very minimal now

Nah, cause young doctors already mostly come from upper class backgrounds, and families with resources can make sure their babies grow up in like a free range, low tech, montessori setting

i work with kids and some of them truly do not listen to anything, and then u meet the parents and it all makes sense

Dude, I teach and we call the runners Elopers. I’ll hear it over the radio and think someone is running off to get married. Apparently it’s a medical term for people who run out of hospitals.
Chasing them down is a great workout. Would definitely recommend it for CodyTrains.

@@WoodyTheWoodrowbeing an IPad kid is just part of it. It’s basically the parents give them the iPads to occupy them so they don’t learn critical developmental things such as listening to adults or sitting still when they don’t want to
@@WoodyTheWoodrowI think it also just teaches them if they throw a fit or make enough noise they will be given what they want which is their iPad. Their parents do it so why wont everyone else do it is what I think is what they think

My cousin was an ipad kid, he started to school illiterate. He quickly caught up and was in the top reading group within a few years, hes 16 now, but this has been happening. And now its more prevalent, that social pressure to push kids and parents to attain the expected achievements is no doubt lacking
I feel like the "ipad vs non-ipad divide" might actually just be the same class divide that has always affected children, just with a different flavor.

My mom said I was fine at 3 months ish old on a 6 hr flight. Just when the cabin is pressurizing and stuff you give the baby a bottle to drink so it’s ears don’t pop during takeoff & landing. Either that’s the trick or I was just hella chill.

I’m interested in seeing the difference in generation. I think there should be data gathered on the impact on iPad kids developing minds and autism. The first ever kid I witnessed raised on an iPad 7mo-11yo definitely had some kind of growth stunted bc of her iPad :/ really sad to see but I can’t help but see the trend in other children as well
U are born with autism. Cant catch autism from an ipad.
I mean, it probably does effect development but its not fair to assume that specific kids delays were 100% caused by an Ipad. Like, you have no way of knowing whether she has a genetic defect or her mom drank while she was pregnant or something.
I let my child use iPad but she has to give up something of greater or equal value in return. Equivalent exchange.
Fun fact from my pediatrician: vaccinated or not, if you’re breastfeeding, your child is protected because breastmilk protects your child against short term and long term illnesses due to the antibodies in mom’s milk.
