  • It's one of the biggest intakes of new dogs at this Dogs Trust shelter. With a closed down breeding facility giving up all of their dogs, the staff here have to prepare for a quick turnaround on getting these pups into forever homes.
    Andrea Hayes gives us a glimpse into the daily life of the workers at Ireland and UK's largest dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust. We get an intimate look into the ups and downs of working with these lovely animals, and the pressure of saving their lives.

    If I was closer the orphaned puppy would be in foster care with me if I got approved. I have rescued others of the same breed, My heart goes out to all the rescue organisations

    Iam so happy to see wonderful young woman and men to work so hard for saving animals. I do my best and it is nothing, in my country people is bad with animals, there is not enough rescue center and they do the minimum, it takes month to bring an animal in danger away, or they give him back to the weaked owner

    Isn’t mange caused by a mite rather than a tick?

  • @hallelujah7304

    P= F/A (Physics). Pressure equals force divided by area (for people who are unfamiliar to this simple law which everyone should have learned at school). So, using thin leads while handling this big puppy means a lot of pressure / pain on a dog. So please use a wide lead to not harm dogs anymore. It is a disaster / shame that people nowadays harm animals due to the lack of education.

    Mange is not caused by a parasitic tick. Its cause by a mite.

    Why didn’t they put the little Shit Zu pup in with a mama and litter of like size to see if mama would accept the orphaned baby??? Best solution for immediate care. And ticks don’t cause mange, mites do…they should know that…

  • @oldgloryhillfarmturtlewoma9132

    Pit Bulls are no more dangerous than any other dog. When a dog is stressed, or like you mentioned, has an idiot for an owner, that is more dangerous than blaming the breed.

    • @gingerbaker4579
      @gingerbaker4579 Před rokem +1

      WRONG! Pit bulls are one of the most poorly bred dog breeds in the world. The fact that pit bulls are PREDOMINANTLY ONLY bred for profit is exemplified in the simple fact that pit bulls & pit bull mixes GREATLY outnumber ALL other dog breeds in almost every kennel throughout Canada, America & in other countries where they are not banned.
      The average breeder, which far out numbers proper registered breeders of APBTs, cares for money long before they care for the proper personality or health of the parents or even if the pups have proper homes. True backyard breeders habitually sell to drug dealers, meth heads & other trailer trash and so the more aggressive or nasty-tempered the parents the better because then the puppies will likely be nasty too and better for protecting a grow-op than a being a family dog.

      what lol! You think a chihuahua or poodle is as dangerous as a Pit Bull? Seriously? So if you have to make the choice to get bitten by a chihuahua or a pitbul you will be happy to choose the pitbull?

  • @margaretfry3043

    It’s not a tick

    12:06 mange by tics? I think that is a wrong information. Mange is caused by mites, digging tunnels up to 1 cm deep into the skin. The crap of the mites and the constant nibling on blood from them is causing the itchy skin. My dog had sarcoptis mange and was treated with Simparica. But not every dog can compare with those ingredients, especially a Bitch with puppies. So bathing with medical shampoo is the better option. But a tic is definitley not the cause of mange.

    That police shepherd dog has a hard head to have a bullet not pierce his skull but go around it.

    8 years ago I was walking down the sidewalk and from across the street 2 pitbulls came charging at me with their teeth showing! I was pretty damn scared. Fortunately I walk with a cane. I raised my cane at them and they continued to charge but ran around me instead. If I didn't have my cane I would have been attacked by not 1 pitbull, but 2!!!!! And their owners were also across the street just watching. They did NOTHING to stop their vicious damn dogs!

      That's the owner that is the problem. The pitties are the result of their environment.

    • @lindaname9413
      @lindaname9413 Před rokem +4

      Which goes to show again, it is the owner that controls the dog and the dog is made vicious by the owner.

      @@lindaname9413 Absolutely! I was so scared. It actually traumatized me for a while. To this day, I'm not very comfortable around dogs of any size. 2 months ago I was out in my garden and saw a small dog attack a child. That dog's owner just watched. I ran out so damn quick and put myself between the dog and child. While screaming at the owners to do something. I would have had no choice but to hurt that dog if he didn't stop. Fortunately my screaming and running towards him made him back off. The dog owner never even asked if the little girl was ok. But, I checked her. She only got one small tooth mark in her hand. People MUST leash their dogs!
