  • I love shooting B&W! Black and white is a great way to add drama and mystery to a photo, allowing your eyes to focus on exactly what the photographer intends. For close-up portraits I try and keep my editing workflow simple and efficient. There is definitely more you can do in the editing process than what I show here, but when you aren't shooting for a specific client that is paying you for a certain look, this workflow is perfect for me.
I've learned a lot more about photoshop over the years but have mostly used Lightroom. PS really gives you more horsepower to send your photography to another level that Lightroom just can't do.
Let me know if you have any questions or please add your own tips in the comments!

Sorry the background and mouse movement noise! I wasn't in my home office. What do you guys think? Am I doing anything differently than you? Something I could do better?

    Hey Tracy,
Quick question for you, what picture profile do you shoot with on your Sony? I'm currently using SLOG 2 and get way too much
noise in low light. But I have seen in your wedding videos there is almost no noise in your low light shots.
    Cheers

Hey! So I've used a number of profiles, but the one I stick with now that gives me the most latitude in color and exposure in post is the one from Cody Blue. czcams.com/video/jxqVL2txv20/video.html
Picture Profile: PP1 (although you can use any)
      Black Level: +2
      Gamma: Cine4
      Color Mode: Pro
      Black Gamma: Wide, +4
      Black Level: +2
Knee: Manual, Point: 80%, Slope +2
      Saturation: -5
      Color Phase: 0
      Color Depth: R: +3, G: +1, B: -1, C: -4, M: -4, Y: +3
Detail: When shooting 4K: -6, When shooting in slow-motion: 0
