Incredible transformation since the coaching changes, finally split up McDrai twosome and made them drive their own lines as they should and much improved defending, I no longer see 25 skating around in the offensive zone pretending to be a forward.

They play Chicago and Nashville, inferior teams. I worry about Vegas, especially with the long break and Vegas finding their game. We will see. If they beat Vegas, they have Anaheim after so it’s very possible they can get to 18. I’m getting ahead of myself, they weren’t good vs Chicago last time around, so we will see Thursday
@@owenposer6720afaik Vegas has been in a rough patch recently. but competitive spirit would indicate that Vegas would get such a huge kick out of denying the oilers their record. Murphys law says the hawks somehow beat the oilers, especially considering the irony of Perry’s first oiler game being against his newest ex-team. You could really cut the cake any way you want; we’ll just have to wait and see 🤷🏼

Canucks are having a monster season. As an Oilers fan who lives in BC, it is nice to see! As for them meeting in the playoffs; the crappy thing about that is that it means one very good Canadian team is going to the golf course! I am sure it would be a great series though!

Took awhile for the Oilers to get going in this one. Columbus outplayed them in most of the first two periods. Oiler took over in the third. Good to see the streak still going.

It's not an Oilers game if they aren't having a goal called back... clearly the offside had NO IMPACT WHATSOEVER on that goal being scored.
That might be true, but a rule is a rule. Offside sometimes is already hard to judge, although it should be a completly objective rule. Imagine mixing in a subjective part where the refs have to judge if an offside has impact on the play or not.
But do they reset the clock on when the offside play was made, cos otherwise you could be staying 1 minute in the other offensive third, but if the initial play of entering the last third was offside everything that happens afterwards is useless. So technically they should get back the 1 minute

It was forever ago that it took place before then finally looked back on the replay
14 wins in a row, I still can’t believe this is actually happening! Boys showed up when it mattered after a sloppy 40 minutes and put it to bed in the third. Big congratulations to Stu on passing Grant Fuhr for most consecutive wins by an Oiler goalie, he was terrific tonight and held us in it through those sloppy first two periods! Next up, Chicago! 15 coming up?? Can’t wait to find out!! GO OILERS GO!!!

That was McDavid-level creativity under pressure. Sometimes when Foegele turns the jets on, I see the flash of a 7 on his jersey, and legitimately can't tell him apart from McDavid. Dude has some gears...

There should be a time limit on how long after you can challenge a play. 6:00 That play was offsides forever ago, and only after the goal and watching replay do they challenge for offsides
There is a limit. They challenged immediately after the whistle, can't challenge before the whistle. The video guys watch every zone entry right after it happens

I don't get why some D think it's a valid strategy to shove their opponent into their own goalie and then call for interference. Chances for Merzlinkins would've been high to make the safe - if Gudbrandson would've not shoved Hyman into him and out of the way of McDavids shot.

There's no season without cleaning the stats by Oil country! Last year best pp ever, this year longest winning streak of a Canadian team ever with 14(,!) in a row.
