I’m a history buff, who loves racing, especially NASCAR, and wanted to learn more about the hallowed grounds that host my favorite sport.
In this Episode, we take a look at the History of Darlington Raceway, one of NASCAR's original Playgrounds!

How did Bill and Jeff winning the Winston Million in the Southern 500 not make the list?
I think some may have mentioned it, it was definitely an oversight on my part! I typically choose the 3-5 most requested ones for the video as to include as many people as possible.
That said, it is a great moment!

Bad Brad Keselowski Finally breaking a 110 race winless streak in 2024 was super emotional for me as I had been waiting for Brad to win ever since I reintroduced myself to nascar in 2022

One of the greatest of his wins.
Memorable moment: Jimmie’s final win in 2017.

One of David Person 10 wins at Darlington was in the 1979 season during the southern 500 driving the Number 2 Rod Osterland car driving for a injured Rookie Named Dale Earnhardt.

Kurt Busch vs. Tony Stewart
Jimmie Johnson's save in qualifying in 2006 (my go-to moment for showing anyone learning about NASCAR what roof flaps do)
Jimmie Johnson's last win (it still blows my mind that he only won three races after winning his seventh championship)

If we're gonba be technical based on the 2023 southern 500 coverage Mantz didn't exactly use truck tires, just a new compound Firestone was working on for asphalt racing derivative from truck tires
Yeah, I had always heard and read that it was a truck tire compound. Regardless it’s an awesome piece of history!

Dover memorable moment: Kyle Petty winning in 1995 after half the field crashed out early.
Dover; my favorite all time car owners only win junie donlavey. Btw I’d love to see a team history of junie donlavey. It might not have many wins but there’s so much history there. Kyle Petty’s last win also comes to mind . The 92 championship also was significantly impacted by the fall Dover race, Kulwicki crashed out and everyone thought he was eliminated. Also Junior Johnson overruled Tim Brewer on the final pit stop costing Bill Elliott the win and ultimately the championship and was the catalyst in the falling out between Brewer and Johnson, scene vault podcast for the whole story

Sam McQuagg in the 24 car and Cale Yarborough In the 27 Made Contact Heading into turn 3 (now turn 1) and Yarborough Flipped right over the guard rail

I member Donnie neunburger flip vividly for Dover for some reason. Also I think it was 2016 when Jimmie missed his shift an caused like one of the biggest pile up’s ever had Jimmie not missed his shift he’d of had like 11 wins at Dover and not 10
