- A beginners guide for heavy that still talks about the more finer details of the class instead of just shoot gun at bad guys.

"It's been almost two years. Where have you been Nick?"
TLDR: Life happened and I had to put CZcams aside to get some extra time for other stuff.
When I uploaded my last video I was already having a rough time trying to work on CZcams video's as I was busy with the first semester of my last year of college. I had to work on a ton of project already leaving me short on time to do anything.
However after that video my second semester started where I had to do my intern ship and more importantly, I had to make my final thesis. This thesis literally took up practically all of my free time. It ended up going well and I passed for that.
Sadly I failed a course in my first semester and I had to do that again. The exam of this course wasn't a standard theoretical exam, we had to create a project for that course which you had to work on from the start of the semester to the end. Remember what I said though about already having a ton of projects to do in the first semester? Nearly all of my courses gave me a similarly massive project to work on. It was impossible to get everything done so I chose to drop one of my courses. So, now I have to do this exam again with the goal now to take the project we tried to make for the first exam and improve on it. Problem, I dropped it, I had nothing. Because of this, my whole summer vacation was dedicated to working on that project. That re-exam went well and I'm now done with school.
Being done with school I need to get a job. Luckily I got a job super quickly and I could start pretty much right away. This did mean however that I jumped straight into a pretty new life style, couple that with current world events complicating things as well. I took some time to take it in slowly and adapt to that.
This leads us to recently where I was finally able to work on video's again. I will admit though, this video took way longer to make then it should and part of that is Sony Vegas that crashed at least 5 times per editing session. I'm gonna try to switch over to DaVinci Resolve and edit with that. I'm thinking of making a compilation of clips that I've saved up, just to practice editing with this software. After that I'll get back into making more guides and such.
Glad to see you back!
Glad to see you're back
Im happy for you man, good to see you back!

A little shorter guide to heavy, coming from a person with experience
1. Shoot gun
2. Dodge boollets
3. Say thank you after every kill
for some more advise as to your priorities:
1. Don’t get backstabbed
2. Don’t get headshotted
3. MEEEDIIC!
@@guyfromusaa9164 jon2hil
Extra advise:
1. Eat sandvich
2. Taunt kill
3. Hoovy
i clicked off from the intro 😭
me, a heavy main:
friend, a medic player:
Heavy: Eating a Sandvich
Demo with some stickies: "Now this looks like a job for me"
I main Sniper, but I've been recently topping with heavy a lot due to my track aim, and the tomislav. I'm actually thinking about making Heavy as my second main. This guide has quite helped me, thank you!
Have you started hating sniper yet?!
@@Jason-re4dw no
@@roboticboom6405 Fair. It's probably helped. I am always surprised by some of the sight lines snipers can get.
@cuckinator yes
@@roboticboom6405what about now?
I do agree with a lot of this although I want to say that the sandvich isn't the only useful secondary. I find myself being better off with a shotgun more often then not. Sandvich and banana are great secondaries but as far as defending a point goes. If there is both a dispenser and a medic you would be better off with a shot gun which is way more helpful when you have an enemy that is very hard to track with you minigun.
Even with 800 hours as heavy I still learn new stuff by watching these guys. For such a simple class Heavy has a surprising amount of depth kinda like sniper and engineer which makes sense given their roles
I missed your content!
This notification suprised me! Thanks for coming back, hopefully you stay :)
This didn't age well did it now?
@@Cantaimtf2 Why? I think hes still working on videos
This is a very well made and useful guide for heavies. I don't know why it's so underrated.
man you’re so underrated! your content is amazingly entertaining and creative, keep it up! :)
make more of these please! these are very informative and up to date for a new player like me.
This is a very solid guide, only thing I'd like to highlight is having low ground is actually better for heavy due to the afformentioned cover basically only making your head vulnerable. High ground is good too but it's much nicer to have the low ground (with cover)
Damn your videos are even higher quality! Great to see you back
Great to see you making videos again Nick. Hope we can play sometime
Happy new year, my broski!
This is great hope to see more from you
Glad you're back
Bruh I love that heavy counters pyro. Most annoyed class in the game.
look who is back and with a better intro
Return of the king 👑
Sticking to the payload works wonders if your team is backing you up in a push
I missed you
(and your content)
A very good guide
idk man, standing near the payload works pretty well for me most of the time
Play as a sentry / scout / spy strat is best heavy guide:
-stick to close areas hallways anywhere with tons of obstacles.
-avoid open areas like the plague. If it takes a stock rocket more than 2 seconds to from start to end you're too open
-body tank damage and especially bullets for defending buildings players and especially medics
-300 hp and more from banana or chocolate bar does alot. Sandvich for players but if you got a medic use the banana or chocolate bar or fish cakes to extinguish fires or bleed for teammates.
-FoS have a hidden stat of less healing from mediguns. So makes it a quick fix. If you swap to FoS and back to secondary or primary the heal rate stays double.
-swap chocolate bar and GRU or eviction notices fast then eat to get 350 + overheal. Its a bug they fixed from infinte health lol 😂 to just overheal.
-crouch. Literally makes snipers be very bad at aiming. Crouch behind kart dispensers or just re regularly. Youll take about 60 damage from a full scope but survive.
-keep shooting near ammo sources. Dispensers karts and ammo boxes/crates. You can get random crits better find spies and just scare off enemies or an alarm when you die your team knows they're near.
Basically be a sentry with less range but more mobile (minus brass beast) if thr enemy cannot hit you directly or headshot you / backstab you as easily then you are very safe and can defend an area while other classes push.
Killing 2-3 enemies vs killing / injuring 1 and doing the objective the latter seems better but takeaway. 2-3 less players means 2-3 more players on your team that can overwhelm the enemy easier. 2-3 less damage output healing or support.
It is why scouts have 2x cap rate while heavies do not. Same as demo / soldier with pain train. Both are more mobile and faster can get in or out.
The heavy is less mobile (at least not without debuffs) and thus he us more a clearing house / hold the line area denial class.
In meet the medic you see heavy mowing down a GROUP of soldiers ubered. In spy you see him in a hallway CQC with minigun revved up as he bursts through the door.
Sniper he is headshotted for being out in the open
In demo sticky tapped and he cannot escape as fast
Scout scout flanks him while he has lower health lol
Soldier out in the open
Pyro he is close and has not minigun ammo
Engineer you see him moving up but the minigun takes him out before he revvs up the gun.
Meet the heavy you see him supptrssing fire from afar but behind cover in dustbowl same for the sandvich he is eating it in the backlines.
MVM he has the shotgun at close quarters and medic shield in two cities update
Going by the videos they SHOW you how to play heavy. All the videos do. If you're not rocket jumping in the front lines flabking being sneaky etc you're not playing the role
For weapons:
-stock see above
-brass beast use chocolate bar for more health and jump down and surprise targets. Best is for sentries and other heavies or large groups and very good with kritz for 1 second kills. Next ti the huo long heater this is the 2nd best minigun when on the kart in enclosed areas or tain kart like frontier or snowplow.
Natasha = suppressing fire. Best for support and long to mid distances keeping them in place another class can finish em off or also assist in damage. People say it is UP but not being able to move (aside from pressing 2 wasd keys lol source spaghetti code) makes it a very good support / suppressing fire weapon.
Tomislav= sneaky heavy and best for ambushes and mid ranges as it us more accurate. Though 1 v 1 with sentries or other heavies you'll probably have trouble with
-huo long heater = payload kart minigun / spy heckler. Also for engy nests to spycheck. Best with a pyro ally to help deal more damage.
Shotgun stock = okay when low ammo especially when using the huo minigun the secondary shotguns of ant type really shine.
Sandvich = THE secondary when pushing or no medic on the team. Give don't eat often
Chovolate bar / fish cakes / banana = overheal. Pair with GRU or EN swap back and fortg for overheal
Steak = honestly probably THE BEST for uber pushes. Nothing like an invul heavy coming at you with any melee running fast or critted or just resistances/fast healing. Also mini crits plus crits after first kill (KGB) faster speed on hit (EN) or default (GRU) or 5-10% resistances (FoS).
Panic attack = underrated heavy combo for melee plus shotgun fat scout setup.
Family buisness = decent. Fat scout heavy setup or fat engineer
Stock fists = okay but you have better options
GRU= get front lines faster. Pair with chocolate bar for overheal
KGB = if you can kill a scout spy or any low class and pair with shotgun or minigun (best tomislav faster revv up) you can get a free kritz uber to mow down enemies.
EN = chocolate bar overheal and combo with a shotgun to keep up with enemy lol
FoS = faster medic uber build (switch to then back to your primary or secondary so long as medic keeps healing the uber rate stays) as well as great if you are in the open to get to safety. To avoid hoilster reduction swap to primary or secondary and back or primary to secondary / vice versa. So long as you have different weapons not fully out the debuff won't apply (source spaghetti code 😢).
I just returned to TF2, I transitioned from a Medic Main to a Heavy Main and during my recent games, I got to be a top scorer in my team. Though I always get killed by snipers (good snipers or aimbots), spies, soldiers, skilled Pyros and Heavies with a Medic. I hope this would improve me a lot. Also another tip, use Tomislav as primary, though a Sasha could be enough and sandvich as secondary.
Very well Made video 😮
Other good loadout is The tomislav, Second banana and gloves of running urgently
I wish you uploaded more frequently because you are my favorite tf2ber
I too wish I could upload more, hopefully learning the new editing software will help.
I totally under stand, I have been trying to make a video for a month and I'm not even half way finished
I've played TF2 for one day, and have only played heavy so far, and I already hate spies and snipers.
Fighting spies is like playing fnaf 4. You turn your attention on the most quiet sounds possible to succeed
4:08 *cries in gloves of running urgently user*
my K/D ratio seriously went up after watching this, thanks
So heavy is just PROTECC AREA HERE
As a Heavy main myself, good review for the russian man.
Welcome
I main heavy and top pubs but I don't play like this at all.
Tomislav, Dalankas bar, gloves of running urgently.
Overheal yourself with bar. Flank with gloves and bust out the Tomi for quiet rev up and surprise.
It also gives better damage at longer longer ranges.
Basically the exact opposite of this video.
It's also fun to run the heater when on top of cart to keep spies off you. It gets rid of the ammo down side too. It's pretty much the only use of the gun except maybe memes of dropping down onto people with it.
I remember you from a discussion about friendlies or something
Can u do more guides similar to this?
I'm first gonna post a video mainly to test new editing software but then I'll upload more guides :)
@@Nickbro101 ok
Help! when my ammo reach 0, it doesn't shoot boolet.
still cant believe i ran into u in a pub

You can kill an overhealed heavy by getting the jump on him point blank.
ok, heavy takes skill

Hey nickbro, what editing software do you use?
For this video I used Vegas pro 15 but, due to all the technical issues I had with it when making this video, I'm going to be switching over to DaVinci Resolve.
rad
Can you pleas do a tutorial on how to get the sandvich pleas i really need tk know how to get it
I don't need to do a full tutorial for this. You can get a sandvich form either a random weapon drop or by completing 10 heavy achievements.
How do you get the (insert class) is hurt a bit? Like its shown in this video?
Those are subtitles with certain custom huds. I personally use toonhud.
@@Nickbro101 So If you download toonhud you will get it? If so i'll download toonhud. Also any other hud you know does this to?
@@dakinoshi5826 There are other huds that have this feature but not that I know off out the top of my head. Intalling toonhud and enabling closed captions in tf2's settings should give you those text popups

but the real question is
HOW TO GET SANDVICH
Puny gun! I punch more damage!
me with 1.6 thousand hours in tf2: *interesting*
pog im going to be first coment :3 and he is back a live
in my game the sandwich does not appear, does not exist while playing, why is this?
The sandvich isn't a default weapon. If you don't have it then you don't have it unlocked yet. It's one of the heavy achievement milestone rewards so you can try to get the achievements if you're not lucky with the random drops.
@@Nickbro101 ya i did some reading about it, i have some work to do before i get it, i did get the fish for the scout last night
Banana good 🍌
All of the counters of heavy is just non. reason is everybody gets counterd by the same thing heavy is just targeted more because his important
