ANMI presents Fireside Chat Session with Shankar Sharma 15 July ‘23

ANMI EIRC organised a Fireside chat session with market veteran, Mr Shankar Sharma on 15 July 2023 at Oberoi Grand Hotel, Kolkata. A special thanks to Motilal Oswal for sponsoring the event.
Shankar Sharma, founder of First Global and Gquant, shared his bullish outlook for India’s stock market during a fireside chat session with Mr. Sandeep Jain, chairman of ANMI (ER), at the Oberoi Grand Kolkata on July 15, 2023. The session was organised by the Association of National Exchanges Members of India (ANMI) sponsored by Motilal Oswal.
“I am quite bullish on India and the flight has just taken off,” Sharma said. “I believe that the Indian stock market offers plethora of opportunities in the mid and small cap space for investors to make money.”
Sharma advised investors to read regularly about the macros and fundamentals of the economy and companies and to adapt to changing paradigms. He also emphasised the importance of flexibility in investing and said that the biggest ROIs can be made by investing in stocks that have the potential to grow manifold. He has been famous for contrarian investing and picking stocks which aren’t on the radar of anyone. Rightly so, he was named as “The Alchemist of Dalal street “by Forbes in 2015.
“I like his perspective of seeing India as a collection of many markets where many states like Maharashtra, Gujarat etc. have their GDP greater than that of countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia etc . This offers lot of scope for mid and small cap companies to grow manifold just by serving those pockets. It was indeed a sheer privilege to interact with him and gain insights.” said Mr Sandeep Jain, Chairman -ANMI ER and MD, Trans Scan Securities (P) Ltd.
The welcome address was given by Mr Kaushik Daga , Secretary ANMI EIRC .
There was a presentation by Motilal Oswal about their products and services followed by a short speech by Mr Gaurav Manihar , Director & Business Head Franchise Business.
It was a power packed houseful session and audience gained a lot of knowledge about his style of investing. The session ended with vote of thanks by Mr Vinod Goyal, Alternate President ANMI.
