  • The hostas are looking great. The empress wu was the first to bloom. I have very little slug damage. There are lots of frogs and the birds help with pest patrol. My Japanese painted ferns are fulling in and need dividing soon. The bare-root trees i received from the Maryland Backyard Buffers program are doing good, as well as the willow and elderberry cuttings I ordered earlier this year. I took some cuttings from plants around my garden last year and they are coming along nicely, i'll have to try taking some more cuttings this summer.
