  • I get asked about my Rod Mule all the time when people see me out fishing. This video explains what it is, how it works and there's a link on how you can get yours. This is the best way to ensure that you are carrying your rods safely and not causing stress fractures. These are a must have for anyone carrying more than one setup.
    Another great investment in protecting your fishing combos is to invest in rod sleeves (or rod socks). These are designed to help protect your fishing rods and combos from damage and wear, but all of them are NOT created equal.
    In this video I will break down the pros and cons of nylon sleeves versus neoprene sleeves and why it's best to spend a little bit more to protect your investment. I will also give you an EXCLUSIVE code below that will help make it even easier to save some money on them.

    I definitely need to use sleeves but we run and gun so much, I’m always in a hurry lol. I’d buy ocean front property in my home state from you 😆. You’re a natural salesman/spokesman

    Ug, I am dreading going through my man cave and cleaning it up for the winter. I am with you on the lure covers, they are a must for any bait with a treble. I use the rod sleeves and I have wraps to hold my rods together but I will look into the mule.

      The Rod Mule has served me well. It makes it so nice to transport multiple combos.

    My dad swore by rod sleeves and this was 30-40 years ago. Those look much better than his homemade ones. Great tips for those who don't fish during the cold season. Cheers

    I have a few of those nylon jobs too. Yeah.. they suck. But I am not sure I've ever bought one. They come free with rods or as a sale add on or something. I am one of the fortunate ones that doesn't have an off season, so no need to put things away like that. I am interested in that rod mule tho. I carry at minimum 4 combos when I'm bank fishing and that may be something to look into. Thanks for the great video Joe!

      Ahhhhhh…to never have an off season…
      That Rod Mule is awesome! Carrying rods in the midsection can cause stress fractures over time, so if you have too many combos to carry by the handles, the Rod Mule is the perfect solution. I’m always hauling 3-7.
      Thanks as always for the support Joe!👊💥🎣

    Great video! I bought some nylon sleeves because I have a very small all together rod locker on my boat. If I rammed all the poles in there the line would get wound and twisted with the other poles! If this works I will upgrade to the neoprene sleeves. Wish my rod locker was a few inches longer as my 7ft poles done fit and I have to bend the tip... :(

      @live2fishofficial  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Thank you for the feedback! I think you’ll definitely find that the neoprene sleeves are worth every penny. That stinks about the tight fit in your rod locker though. Tight lines!👊💥🎣

    Great comparison between neoprene and nylon. Huge believer in all of this. The lure wraps and sleeves are a game changer when putting them into a trunk of a car. I snapped a rod tip on a st.croix and ever since then I've been using sleeves when transporting. Snagged so many things with trebles without wraps on. Great idea about the gel pack. I never knew of that. I learned last year from one of your videos always turn off brakes and tension which makes total sense. Joe I'm going to go get some line conditioner and gel packs now 🙌👌

      Thanks Jared! I was helping a friend unload his gear one time and didn’t realize that he wasn’t using the lure wraps. He pulled on a combo that ended up jabbing a hook right into my hand. Yeowch!

    I’ve been waiting for this video. I’m embarrassed to say that I do none of those things for the off season. The tension release makes so much sense along with everything else. Thanks for the heads up Joe. See ya on the ice.

    • @live2fishofficial
      @live2fishofficial  Před rokem +2

      I learned this the hard way because I have one combo that the baitcaster has seized up in the brake and tension settings, now it’s stuck no matter what adjustments I make. As long as I throw 1/4oz lures with it, it’s tuned in perfectly tho. When I researched the fix, I found that leaving it with all the tension and in the cold garage was the likely culprit. Now I release them all and store them inside.
      Thanks for watching Joe! Looking forward to getting out on the ice for the first time in so many years!

    Nice! Rod sleeves are nice I got a bunch of them. Nylon is what I got and you are correct with the hooks eyes. My neoprene ones once the get wet they stay wet for awhile but they are the better option. Great review

    Very nice intro. Yes already that time of year again. Although the fall is my favorite time of the year, it's sad that another open water season is coming to an end.
    Neoprene is the way to go. I don't have any rod sleeves but it's something I should invest for this off season. Great tips my friend, you definitely help me making my choice.

    Absolutely incredibly executed video bro! I should definitely look into getting the rod mule for when I'm bank fishing and toting around a few rods.
    Excellent comparison between the budget option and better option rod sleeves! More importantly, the reasoning you gave for your opinion. Very well explained and you definitely have my support on your opinion.
    Great tips about how to store your gear for the winter months. It will be a bit before I put mine in storage lol.

      @@live2fishofficial 🤣😂👍 I do have to put them up... for a short while. Mostly around February is where we get our coldest winter weather. Otherwise, technically I could fish almost all the way through, it just really sucks from the bank Dec thru Feb.
