Thanks, Lottie, for sharing your success with this! I have seen others use pine vinegar, but wondered if cedar would work, as I don't have access to pine. Not finding much about cedar vinegar, so you may be an innovator!

Julia Morse thank you for watching and subscribing. I am having fun with these cleaning vinegars! Hope an all-cedar one is enjoyable and useful for you.

Found your video after being irritated that another recipe showing "pine" vinegar was using fir! Thank you for having the right tree :) Though it does drive me to ask, *can* one use fir in place of or in addition to pine or does that produce a different result entirely? Thank you for this video, I am absolutely going to follow this recipe for my own home now!

Thank you for watching and commenting! And thank you for the question. You can use fir needles/branches, or spruce or cedar, as well a combination. Any aromatic conifer is fungicidal and antibacterial (as a protective component of the plant against insects and disease.) and would make a good addition to a cleaning vinegar. I do agree with you that accurate Plant ID is very important. ~Take care~

Yeah she is using pine, but that’s not cedar, is not even cypress, is false cypress 😭

@@lolaoveja I was just wondering, when it comes to applications like this does it matter which one you use? Because I'm interested in foraging but I always get so confused when it comes to cedars and cypresses.

@@ununhexium and Also a cedar and a cyprees are very different, cedar is a Big tree like a fir or a pine tree, but cyprees are tall and long trees like a column, and also don't grow in the same place, cedar trees are from midle east, and cyprees are from the mediterranean, cedar wood is very aromatic, but in cyprees is the leaves and the fruits that are the most aromatic, same family but distant cousins, if you know what i mean

@@ununhexium in this case we have in the video a plant that is call thuja, and is not a cyprees or a cedar, is a bush that the first thing, second is from china, is a connifera but don't have the same propertys of a cedar tree or a cyprees, thuja is a decorative plant in the most part, you can resear if it has propertys but i only know it for gardens

Can the lemon pine and cedar be reused?

I just compost it. After the plants have steeped, it seems they’ve given all of their essence but… What were you thinking? I’m curious to know 😊
