Islam is a beautiful religion. Islam is the continuation of the rest of the religions. It believes in all the prophets and messengers. It believes that it is not possible for a human being to be the son of God, and that it is not possible for a human God gave him the sins of all human beings. What is his sin? The Bible and the Torah were distorted and some of the prophets were described with the most horrific things. They described Noah as a deviant. How could God create a prophet who was a deviant and then wanted people to follow him? If God creates a prophet, He will place him in the best form so that people will follow him

You know what is "scary"! You understand! I am born and raised a christian yet I feel, truely feel the love from Muslims! I have visited many Muslim countries and never once felt afraid, never once felt unwelcome. It is a "scary" religion ONLY because of the media! Thank you for being so honest, so true with your travels. Me, I am not a religious man, I find a lot of religion horrible, yet it is unspoken! Islam has an "inner peace" that must be experienced first hand, not read in the tabloids of hateful christian countries!

As a Saudi Arabian woman, I'm telling you, eating in public is not a crime, 99.9% of people fast here, but there are many non muslim foreigners, so there aren't forced to fast during the day.. Not to mention, there are muslims who can't fast due to illness, or pregnant women who can't fast or women on their period. Also, travelers are given the choice not to fast in Islam. People wouldn't care about you eating in public because they would assume you have an excuse not to fast. If someone did intentionally and clearly eat to disrespect the holy month or the religion, he'd be surely arrested. No tolerance for any disrespect to our faith and values by the Saudi people or government.
My dear you are contradicting yourself, it’s rather not a crime to eat , but don’t eat in public with disregard of the religious sentiments, of course non Muslims and other situations you mentioned should eat in privacy

(2:183) O Believers, the Fast has been made obligatory on you just as it was prescribed for the followers of the Prophets before you. It is expected that this will produce piety in you.
We Muslims follow the teaching of Jesus in fasting because according to the Bible Jesus was fasting like Muslims do fast

Just to correct, eating food is not a crime punishable by law in Saudi Arabia or any other Islamic country. These are just rumors. There are many non-Muslims. Fasting is an Islamic obligation in order to feel what the poor suffer and be humble and more humane. Fasting also has health benefits.
I think In Saudi it is, you can't break fast in front of the mosque in Madinah that's not good.

But if you eat or drink water even in public, people will look at you but nothing will happen to you.

@shine-yb1gv funny you mentioned Iraq, I'm iraqi from Basra and I was in Basra during Ramadan last year for 10 days, I was a traveller so I didn't fast, I drank water outside it was boiling, I ate outside and in restaurants, me, my sister, brother and father and police saw us and guess what nothing absolutely nothing happened.
So when you say talk about your country, I just did.
As long as you're not disrespecting people or mosques you will not be in trouble.

i‘m indonesian, happens to live in Saudi for 4 years, and lemme tell you one of my experiences regarding meeting people of medina (saudis), it happened when we booked a hotel for pilgrim, but we came at 2 AM, was booked with additional bed but when arrived, the concierge said it was no data about it. then we asked it upon arrival. but they don’t charge us for the additional bed. i will never forget that nice saudis concierge who gave free extra bed. ❤
Most people would worship during the night and then go back to their hotel after the morning prayer. They would sleep and then get up for the midday prayer and go back to the mosque. Unless of course they live there and have jobs to go to. A friend in Madinah said that schools and offices open later than usual in Ramadan. We don’t have that luxury in the western world.
The fact that you walked around all day is why you felt it extra long and then that too in the heat.
Allah doesn’t want us to put extra burden on ourselves.
But well done for staying committed and congratulations for experiencing the peace of Ramadan. ❤

The water you had whilst opening your fast in the small bottle just curious was it zam zam water the reason I ask as this water is very unique and very special water and had very unique properties and taste and is sourced from the well of zam zam located in Mecca .

I noticed right at the beginning of the video, you seemed to be waiting til actual sunrise to break your fast. Imsak (fasting) actually begins before the light, the sky is still dark.. so at fajr, and not at sunrise. Beautiful work, and thank you for making this video

Lovely, this is I think everyone's feeling during Ramazan. You start the day appreciating the beautiful time just before sunrise. You then become thirsty. Water bottles, fountains everything just makes you yearn for water even more. Then you feel weakness due to not eating for long which you attributed to air pollution. Then near the sunset, you are suddenly reinvigorated. And the water at sunset is something special.
That was a great insightful and honest video and I admired
how you tried to experimented how it feels to be a fasting Muslim.

One correction: we fast from dawn to sunset so it starts about an hour before sunrise. Glad you enjoyed seems like you picked up on the meaning and beauty of ramadan!
Thank you for trying a part of our beautiful religion! Just a small correction, the fasting is from dawn (the first break of faint light in the sky before sunrise) until sunset, it does not start from sunrise. We can use apps and websites to get the exact calculations without needing to try to look outside.

What is Ramadan? We could write a long article on it but in short, it is for us to show that we are all equal. Everyone has to start and end at the same time. It helps the rich understand how poor people feel when they don't get to eat all day long. It was also meant to teach us to appreciate every small matter in our lives.
Unfortunately, we've seen a lot of waste in terms of food. That's a bit sad though, where in Malaysia "Ramadan" has become an industry.
Not eating is not that hard but not drinking any water is a challenge

Just wanted to highlight that in Ramadan the shops are closed after the Fajr (Morning Prayer) time. This is because most of us spend the night in prayers till the sunrise. After being awake whole night people sleep in the morning and then wakes up for Duhr (Afternoon prayer). This is the time the shops Open in Ramadan.
Small correction: dhur means midday prayer, afternoon prayer would be asr
You guys did it in hard difficulty.. salutes. We usually just stay in doors and sleep before or after going to work, we don't stay awake from sunrise to sunset and diffidently not walking a lot. You partner cloths are so cool btw

Eating isn't illegal. It's just frowned upon to do it in public. Eat as much as you want in your home if you're not Muslim.

14:28 Just for your information, this scale counts dust grains in the atmosphere as pollution, and this is not realistic because the climate in the Arabian Peninsula, especially in the season of hot, dry winds, contains a lot of dust. This is something caused by nature, not by man. There are no oil fields in western Saudi Arabia, only in its east, and it is very far from Mecca.
