Nickel Plate Road 757's Bellevue Homecoming

  • Back in 2015, I was on vacation to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and the Strasburg Railroad. Seeing the plethora of Pennsylvania Equipment, my family's heritage, was amazing, but one locomotive was the oddball. Nickel Plate Road 757, the first steam locomotive donated to the museum, was outdoors in need of attention. Fast forward to 2017 and it was announced the locomotive would be coming home to Bellevue. Like many, I gave my money when I could and waited. Then in 2019, NKP 757 set off for home. Running at night across Ohio, I didn't bother to chase a cold 700, at least 765 made up for a lack of visuals with sound. On Valentine's Day, 757 was going to leave the yard and go home. The experience was a dream come true. Sit back and enjoy the move, with some history of the locomotive sprinkled in. Hope you enjoy!
Also that song: Hopes and Dreams from Undertale by Toby Fox.

It's nice to see that the SD40 - 2 is still a very useful locomotive I'm fairly certain that locomotive is almost 50 years old and it's still a Workhorse the way it was the first day it was made absolutely astounding

Trainfan765 the reporting mark was to move Nickel Plate Road 757 and 783 over the mainline. It’s original plain 757 will be reinstated upon cosmetic restoration. In the case of 765, it’s registered as RPCX 765 for mainline movements, and as such, has to wear the correct reporting number when on the main. That’s why in 2016 it had to move from the FWRHS to the valley as 765, not 767.
