Lemmy is my favorite Koopaling, and seeing how his battle plays out and how he acts, I'd say he is perfectly written. The Koopalings in this game are good, the only one I don't like that much is Morton.

@@mrsmithers69 Being the first boss didn't help as his battle is the most basic in the most standard setting for a Koopaling battle. Plus he's written in a very really brawn over brain way. It's not often that I personally like those characters, even though I do like all the koopalings, I just don't find him interesting here compared to the others.

I felt so bad for Morton at the end of the fight
Morton has been my favorite Koopaling but why did they have to make him such a dunce in this game? They gave him hints of Personality in NSMBU and Mario Kart 8 by making him like an adventurer. I enjoyed the idea. Treasure hunting and exploring. The last Mario and Luigi game had him speaking normal but now they got him sounding like he's a complete idiot.

Have to hand it to them, the black paint theme is rather intimidating, and so is Bowser's last form.
I feel colors should have played a bigger role in battles overall to make those more interesting, I don't know, by having enemies take advantage of that (on top of being actual threats!) for their attacks or at least as a means for you to predict what's coming, or type advantages à la Pokémon, or have the game give you a straw of your own to refill your meter yourself in sticky situations... And having symbols around to circumvent the colorblindness issue.
That Larry fight could have been slightly cooler by having you fight the one shy guy you "had a moment" with.
Granted I haven't played it, so maybe I'm missing something.
You actually battle that shy guy later on in the game, and he thanks you for killing him.

For me, I am not too much of a fan of other series, koopalings are in 3 games only, M&L:SS, M&L:PJ and this game, yet we didn't have as much personality in PJ to make them that interesting, but this game, people have enough information to make memes about what they did already, I mean sure they are koopalings and they are overused in the past games, but I don't need people to enjoy this game, just watch the dialogue from them.

It's because most people don't think this lives up to the older paper Mario games. I myself who've played the previous games will play it.
I haven'd played the 3DS one and had mixed feelings on Super Paper Mario (1000 year door was my fave) but the humor and visuals were what really drew me in more than anything. I'm right there with ya on this one!

Our Lord and Saviour who weilds a fire stick and pedal stools and makes great puns outta their name
Frustratingly overpowered Medieval Maniac with a love of killer circular dogs
The classical representation of an Inventive Composer who's real power is in their hair
Money, Rhythm and everything nice with a dash of Mario Liking spice
The Hot Shot Train Wreck who will OHKO you if you bore them
Dancin, Prancin, Ball lovin' Circus bab who harnesses the power of stock laughter
The oddly nice night schooler who knows a thing or two about mixing basic primary colours into secondary colours, understands irony and has the theme of heavy metal ducks.
What a great cast of people, right? Forget the fact they've been appearing in almost every pre-Mario game, their personalities are really in full colour here! Also, this is their first debut in a PM game, so technically they are new, but at the same time old as well.

There's been too many koopaling appearances in the past few years, but they have pretty good personality in this game so they get a pass
I get that it's part of the theme, but I'm a little disturbed by this new color-drain damage system. Especially for the ones with really tall hairstyles, since that'll be what keeps their bleached bodies going.

I'm sure most people like myself want to know what one shots they do, as well as what happens if Huey takes too many attacks from black bowser. I also believe some If not all the koopalings such as iggy(he has dialogue if you use his thing too early) have dialogue if you use their thing too early and they'll one shot you afterwards or after a few turns(Larry says something before one shotting you with Mario's own jump combo after he spends a few turns blinding you with smoke)

Cool, we managed to get Power Ups for the Cards, I wondered if the Mega Mushroom, Cape Feather, Propeller Mushroom, Super Acorn, Tanooki Suit, Hammer Suit, Frog Suit, and the other Power-ups appear in Color Splash? And also, the Boss Battle looks intensive and really good.
Nope...sadly.
Though they could definitely add those elements in a future title.
(And I agree-they definitely are well-designed.Keep in mind that you need the EXACT Thing that stops their second phase in order to have any chance of defeating them.)

I know that this game isn't really that good but to be honest, I kinda like the battle with Ludwig!
Except it would be WAY better if they didn't us cards for battle and went back to the old RPG style, and if they used a different character other than a Koopaling.
if you want RPG elements and no cards and such, play Mario&Luigi games.
Geoffrey Granger That's what a bunch of people say, but Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi are both different. Paper Mario focuses more on the sense of humor for specific characters and Mario & Luigi are more about whacky fun. Plus, I do have Superstar Saga and Partners in Time but Paper Mario is totally different from the Mario & Luigi series. Not to sound like a complainer or anything but I don't like the things they added in Color Splash.

So... are there any hints on what Thing powers you need for boss battles ahead of time?
it's usually in NPC (Iggy, Larry, Lemmy) or the actual bosses (Ludwig, Wendy) dialouge. I believe if you die to the boss the first time, Huey usually gives you a hint the second time around

There's also a Toad in a trash can in Prisma Port that tells you what Things you currently need for a puzzle or boss
Well I asked, because of the lack of hints ahead of time is one of the main criticisms for Sticker Star.
I have heard that you are given a lot of hints before the fight, and you are often just given the thing to use.

Love the koopalings. I actually really miss them being Bowser's kids. It just kind of feels weird to me. Also I thought Larry was a vegetarian??? What else about these characters have they changed besides their relationship to Bowser, andsome minor appearance changes (for some of them)? Thankfully their personalities are still intact kinda.

I loved this game so far. I only beaten Morton and Iggy so far. I'd play all the Mario games except Hotel, Mario's Typing game and Dance Dance Super Mario Mix (I own this game). I don't care about the story or enemies, as long the game is fun to play.:) I played Super Paper Mario. It has new plot and enemies, but I got bored.
