- In this episode of The Cave Podcast, I sat down with two of my Cave of Adullam students Elisha Nunn and Josiah Humphrey to discuss what happened at the Oscars, and how we should respond instead of react to disrespect.

You can choose your ACTIONS but you can’t choose your CONSEQUENCES.
THINK before you move.
Peace & Blessings to all!
Love this one
Men like you is what all AMERICAN boys need in their lives. I'm 45 years old and grew up without a dad and now I'm a father of 3 and it's hard to teach what you don't know.
I just want to take this time to thank you Sir! You are an example of what masculinity and what a healthy warrior looks like for black men.
You are rights, but it’s not just “black men,” but all men. It’s not just the “black men” who need God’s guidance given from Mr. Wilson, but all men. I got brothers of all colors who need this message. This message crosses all racial barriers because it comes from the most high and speaks to us men and warriors.
I understand what you’re saying, but everyone, white, brown, black, etc. need a Mr. Wilson in their life to help guide them. The Lord is justing using Mr. Wilson as a vessel. God bless my brother.
Agreed! And also for me as a white man.
For men. Period.
@@ChinoV Black men need this type of help the most because we've been conditioned with a self destructive mentality. Other ethnicities of men haven't been plagued with the same amount of emasculation throughout history like American black men have. Yes this information can be applicable to all men, but American black men can especially benefit from this. All the unresolved trauma that black men haven't dealt with has caused us to self sabotage. Black people in general are burdened with a very acute situation that requires understanding of our history to comprehend.
Yes! For all men.
Love the work you're doing man. As a 21 yr old white male I'm just realizing this myself, learned from experience. Every male needs a mentor like you, thank you for your vulnerability and showing us the REAL definition of a man.
"Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city." Proverbs 16:32
Chris handled that very well. I commend him for his control, cause I know a lot of men that would’ve been bumpin off rip.
I’m 28 and I’m still learning how to respond to disrespect instead of reacting to it. I am rarely disrespected so when someone does disrespect me badly, I may react because the situation is foreign to me.
I'm 33 years old and all three of you guys taught me so much in this convo, thank you guys so much!!!
I love their body language when they say, yes sir. It seems deeper than them just saying it because they were taught. It feels they are calling him sir out of honor and respect for him and that is a beautiful thing!!! This is such rich content. New subscriber here.
Thank you! Thank you for speaking with young men, thank you for showing us how society has set us up to react instead of process a situation, and finally thank you for breaking down what possibly was going on with Will Smith's reaction. Hopefully, he (Will Smith) will see this, stop going around the world to medite, come home and talk to you.
You help everyone men, women, and children.
what you said at the end is so true. As men we can easily let our egos get in the way. We may mistake it as protecting the people or things we care about but really we’re protecting our egos. Controlling our emotions takes alot and its hard. lashing out like will smith is easy
💯
We need more open conversations between the older and young men!!!
When you walked in self control it caused the lack of self control in the other man to be front and center. Walking in the fruit of the Spirit is soooo powerful!
I do not even know what to say Sir! THANK YOU, Mr Wilson. THANK YOU, Sensei. Thank you brothers!
Before Chris said the joke, he did say "Jada you know I love you" there for letting them know it's not personal what I'm about to say.
We need more role models like you in this society! Emotional intelligence is important
Thank You Mr. Wilson for being an inspiration, I can't express my appreciation enough for You teaching and respecting those young kids and showing them, that there is a different way!! Many blessings along Your way, may Your endeavours and projects be blessed always and in the Highest!! Thank You 🙏💖 Salaam
Shalom brother. Thank you so much for this message. After listening I had to go and apologize to my daughter for handling a situation wrong with her after I felt that she disrespected me. I used my ego as dad to berate her and take all of things away instead of using it as a teachable moment. God is truly speaking through you brother . Thank you again.
Shalom to all. Peace on you peace in your home. I'm very grateful to watch this episode. I'm a father, husband, teacher, Coach and truly appreciate your methodology Baba Wilson! Grateful today for these two young champions. 🙏
Thanks, Jason! This conversation was much needed. I found myself being challenged to rewire my thinking. I know it takes a lot of awareness and approaching with an open mind since society has conditioned us to retaliate and react in violence. I love how you pointed out there is a way to confront someone about a situation with the intent being not to have unresolved anger coursing through our spirits. Lastly, thank you for being vulnerable in your last story!
This type of podcast and real life situational information is so valuable. Love how your impacting the youth.
You are not only helping the young boys but adults too. I am always on gusts about leading my emotions till I had an outburst at work, and straight away noticed what I had done and apologised immediately. But that was a shock to the system for me. Thanks for the advice, ‘process before reacting’.
Napoleon (interestingly enough) once talked about the inability of force to maintain anything at all. “There are only two powers in the world: the sword and the mind. In the long run, the sword is always defeated by the mind.”
When a Man is fed up!!!!
THERE AINT NOTHING U CAN SAY!!!
THERE AINT NOTHING U CAN DO ABOUT IT! In the moment!!
U gotta prep for it ahead of time!!!
TOOK ME 32 YEARS TO CHECK MY PROTECTIVE IMPULSES
My brother you have been the single greatest influence in my Life. I'm 44yrs old and a father of 3 adult children. 27, 22, 20 years old and my son is the youngest, I have always used your words to relay a message to my son. Thank 🙏 you brother. My God bless your journey and keep you and your family in abundance. BTW love your books battle cry is my favorite. Thanks 🙏 again brother.
This is exactly the type of message that needs to become more popular. I appreciate your word 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Once again Mr. Wilson, you have taken the time to not just elevate the conversations surrounding this sad incident- you have taught us all how to be better humans for ourselves and to others. Thank you🙏🏽💙🙏🏽 #inspiring #wecandobetter #blessedLesson
I Thank God everyday for you brother. Man like you is what we need. I relate alot to everything you said in your videos. Blessings. Just want God to continue to bless you and guide you.
Much needed and right on time…Shalom💪🏾

This is beautiful man. Grateful to have come across your story and content. Im leading a collegiate black male program at my school and use some of your teachings a videos during discussions. God Bless🙏🏾
Thank you guys for sharing
🙏🏾🙏🏾
One of the best videos I've seen in a long time. This is manhood, fatherhood, and leadership.
The three of you Gentlemen make a GREAT TEAM!! I look forward to more of these types of videos!!
That's High Quality content. Thank you for your service gentlemen.
Sooo good. Thank you for what you do! 🙏🏼
Making a vow is like programming yourself to respond to a situation. What a powerful observation. Men are attached to out emotions while claiming we are unemotional
I’m a 24 yr old & I just found out about you Mr. Wilson through your book “Cry Like A Man” & literally a few days before I had gotten your book m twice showed me a video of you talking to the young man who was crying. God works in mysterious ways, I didn’t even know it was you who wrote the book until today of me looking you up. You’re a humble soul & I am going to soak up as much knowledge from you as possible. Keep going man we need people like you in the community of men. ALL MEN. God Bless you!
I love this and I’m a therapist. This is wonderful work you are doing.
Let me respectfully say sir, Jada was not disrespected.
Subscribed within the first 2 mins, god bless you and keep up the great work !
I respect ✊ this dialogue we need more podcast like this fr .
Brother , the work and anointing God has giving you has been a true blessing to many including myself especially. I’m now on the second book Battle Cry , I’ve recommitted my life back into Christ and I am now actively in the fight . I am now facing the challenge of having a conversation with my real dad . To be honest , I am a little hesitant because I’m simply not sure how it will be taken or if he would care . I won’t back down from this fear though because I feel it will unlock some things in my life . I pray God continues to use you and that he gives you the fuel needed for this Marathon . SHALOM my BROTHER IN CHRIST. I praise God for your ministry
Loved this. Very intuitive and this advice was great. 🙏🏽

Thx 🙏god bless you sir
This is beautiful 🤩. Helps women get a healthy perspective of men and how we can work together to form a perfect union for the kingdom. Keep up the great brother 🙏🏾
This is dope talkin to young men about this
Much lovec
On my school bus these fellas a bit older than me are always playing childish games teasing me.Often when they get on the bus or I get off one of them runs up to me and goes “got your nose!” Childish but it still angers me that they disrespect me like this.I often contemplate retaliating but I understand that is foolish yet I don’t know what words to say and I doubt if I had the right words they would even take me seriously. What am I to do?
That’s difficult. I have no idea
@@omowhanre solved it by now. Don’t remember how tho
Checked this out b/c saw on the Tok, you said they took page down. I wonder why if you most likely followed guidelines. Very inspirational message and topics relatable to anyone, especially youth. What’s sad, is after I got off, I went back on Tiktok and two swipes up and see a woman, mature one like someone grandmother with nightgown on and she starts moving and I’m like how you try to silence someone spreading wisdom, intellect etc, take down the vid but allow some of this crazy, controversial content. No cap we shouldn’t be able to see a nipple imprint through anyone shirt. Anyway, great message
How about a conversion with Jordan B. Peterson? Would love it.
It's almost remind me when Moses hit the rock twice because of his anger over the people that cost him a miss out on the promised Land
Great conversation
Excellent
Life comes with and choices and choices comes with consequences. -RWA
That Doctor Strange analogy is so good.
This was a insightful exchange with these your brothers. Emotional intelligence is vital to defeat fragile masculinity. Prisons are full of brothers who felt "disrespected" and over compensated by reacting in violence . Our culture teaches us to suppress emotions, ultimately stumping the development a Man needs to better himself and inspire those around him.
I think Chris Rock knew he crossed the line. There comes a point as a comedian where you know certain things are out of bounds and inappropriate. We talk about the physical violence, but Rock used "verbal violence", can be even more destructive.
Mr Wilson is a great man!
Thank you Mr Wilson …this was a meal…I’m still processing and being processed
🙏🏾
Good way to explain to young people how to respond
Great vid 🙏🏼
Great podcast 👏
Part of the problem with Will Smith and this was made everybody's business but part of the problem with the situation with Will Smith and his wife is he was forced to be in a open marriage because that's what Jada pinkett Smith it. Pretty much the only type of woman that wants to be in that type of relationship is a covert narcissist. Most of the time there's only one personality type that is in a marriage with a narcissist. And that personality type is a codependent personality type. I want struggled with codependency. The way I deal with that is a man is through cardiovascular workouts six times a week two to three times a week I do weights I also do karate and I do boxing when I can. I'm a first generation Japanese American. I have two children that I raise I used to be married to a covert narcissist. I was once in that same position.
You’re right. And it’s something that people aren’t talking about enough. This is a narcissist/codependent dynamic.
@@drillosophy1012 one thing that is correct is Will is having to face the consequences of his choices. Another thing that is obvious is Will has never been to therapy, for either the abuse he's been through with his father or the abuse of his wife that still doesn't excuse his choices. I've been very specific about not choosing violence yes I've had a blow up and I've yelled. But I took my ass to therapy and I continue to work on bettering myself physically and emotionally.
React vs Respond: They're spelled differently. Great content again.
Dope conversation
Can anyone tell me how to or practice Shalak meditation I still don’t understand it
Also Will did send a message to the world that he is fed up with having to have a HOLLYWOOD SMILE while people slam him via his wife!
HE CAN BE SEEN AS THE NEW DENZEL AND THE WORLD IS TREATING HIM LIKE A SIMP BC THEIR FAMILY IS TOO FUCKING OPEN
I feel like at the end of the day, chris is a comedian and will could have walked into any comedy and he or like in this case his wife jada, could have been the target (This Is What Comedians Do) I feel like it was beyond an overreaction and let's be honest and clear, had that been let say Mike epp, do anybody Believe will would have had that same energy, he did that because it was Chris and he knows Chris ain't built like that, but anyhow I agree we as men sometimes let our emotions get the bttr of us, rather then to think before we act, not looking ahead to consequences to come, we have to learn to be balance in our decision making and always understand the important of keeping our egos in check, remembering how quickly not doing so, can lead to serious consequences and even ones death, nice info and lessons in this video ! Appreciate you my brother
He shouldn’t have been joking about Jada’s appearance, he wouldn’t have joked about a white woman’s bald head…but I think he should’ve just went up there and demanded an apology.
Jason!!
I WANNA COME OUT AND TRAIN WITH YALL ASAP LIKE ROCKY 🥊
I'm glad you made this, I was ready to beat tf outta someone til this video.
Thanks man.
💪🏽
Unk, I’ve been following you for about 3 years I believe.
I’m just finding out the cave was CZcams channel🎉
Please watch like stories of old the myth of heroic male purpose, i think him and you really touching on something...his content and yours have really opened my eyes to how I've been dealing with trauma
Our capacity as women also
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Strong brother
I have a question what do you do if you tell somebody that did wrong to you that they are doing wrong or that you do not appreciate it and they in turn dismiss it or make the situation worse and escalate the situation? I know you said to not walk with the anger and to get it off your chest but for ex: you go to Chris in the back and you would have told him he offended your wife what if he just goes “f you and your wife” do you then fight or is there another step
