Didn't even start as a catcher and now he is one of the elite even though he makes a few mistakes. A rocket arm paired with a great bat...I sure am glad he is a Cub.
I was at that Cubs v. Pads game when Jankowski got picked, front row right in front of third base and I can not put into words how awe-stricken/amazing the Padres fans around me were. Flew the W that night
I love how he stares at the runners after they get thrown out because of the huge leads the take against Lester.

I don't know what's more amazing, Contraras' speed or the ability of the ump to tell if the player is out.

I've been watching baseball since the early 80s, and I've never seen catchers successfully pick off runners as often as the 2016 Cubs (Contreras / Ross) did. Simply amazing stuff.

That Fowler PO was so good. Fowler knows Willson throws behind the batter, he's still way off the base, the throw is high and outside, and he STILL gets him.

This guy's defensive play is unbelievable, and will only get better. I hope he has a better year offensively, he's got the power, maybe just needs to focus.
